Yngwie likes to toot his own horn a little too much. I'll be the first to say he's an excellent player, but he's not as good as he likes to think himself to be. Yes, he did inspire a new generation of classically trained shredders, but sometimes he goes on so long showboating in his songs, you lose interest in them after awhile. For me, I would rather listen to the likes of Stevie Blaze of Lillian Axe or Tony McAlpine for classical style shredding or Nuno Bettencourt and Steve Vai for the rest.
