  • I first saw this when it ran as the Sunday afternoon movie (before prim time.) When I was in elemetary school and thought was soo cool that they fell in love...not realy understanding how old she was or that it was based on fact. Not just a movie with Great Balls of Fire as it's theme song. I still love it...even though it's kinda bad sense she was 13 and his cousin.

  • John Doe hmm, Who would have thought. Great movie!

  • 14 PEOPLE WISHED THEY MARRIED 13 YR OLD COUSIN

  • It reminds me, did Elvis ever composed something? If we take a closer look, he only did covers or played songs that other wrote... at least Jerry Lee wrote his own stuff.

  • @cinemapsycho91 Elvis was the king, Jerry Lee didnt even get close to taking his spot! This movie is a crock! lol your so young and gullible!

  • The Greatest 50's Rock N' Rollers of All Time:

    1.Chuck Berry

    2.Little Richard

    3.Buddy Holly

    4.Jerry Lee Lewis

    5.Elvis Presley

  • @cinemapsycho91 ritchie valens

  • @Jsoldier22 He is DEFINITELY in the top ten.

  • @cinemapsycho91 You are sooo right man..Maybe not exactly in that particular order in my opinion. But this is the top 5 :D

  • Comment removed

  • No, this is THE top five. In this order EXACTLY!!!

  • @cinemapsycho91 you should put elvis lower

  • Comment removed

  • @cinemapsycho91 Elvis should be on the top of that list just saying!

  • @dropdeadashes2xx No, not exactly. The other four artists wrote their own material. Elvis had NO originality. I give Elvis credit, because he introduced the world to Black American music, when African American artists weren't getting the credit for their music.

  • @cinemapsycho91 Ritchie Valens? even though he might of been young,he could of been up there eh?

  • @NaiJorJul I would definitely put him in the top ten.

  • @cinemapsycho91 sad him buddy and bopper died so young.

  • @NaiJorJul I know!!! God bless them for their unique contribution to music.

  • @cinemapsycho91 ARE YOU DAMN INSANE!? FUCK! THE 1st is Elvis, 2nd Elvis, 3rd: Elvis and the 4th JERRY LEE LEWIS. You jerk!

  • @mscrazyeliot Actually, you're coming off as the insane one, talking to me the way you are. Life is too short to put up with no-class-having JERKS like YOU.

  • @cinemapsycho91 :D your opinion, my opinion! :P

  • @mscrazyeliot Yeah...exactly.

  • @cinemapsycho91 The fact that you put Chuck Berry 1st makes me love you!

  • @nogodofmine Oh, thanks a lot!!! I appreciate that a lot.

  • @cinemapsycho91 you forgot ritche valens....

  • @GreaserJesse Ritchie Valens is DEFINITELY in the top ten.

  • @cinemapsycho91 you forgot wanda jackson the queen!

  • @Mennismervice Um...not quite.

  • How come us young people from the 90's only get yelled at when we chew gum like that?

  • @EJG5150 He sings, "Make a bull-dog wanna hump a hound." It's a reference to Elvis. (The scene cuts to Jerry Lee in Memphis and it shows the location on the screen...

  • I can't believe that I am a distant cousin to this guy, Mickey Gilley & Rev. Jimmy Swaggart out of the 3 that I would have loved to meet in person would be Mickey.. I know about being related to them all because my mom (she was a former Gilley) had told me and showed me some type of proof (don't know where it is now). But if u don't believe me I don't really care this is my opinions so take it either way you want to./. (I'm not being harsh or mean about this either so plz don't get mad at me.

  • OMG those kids are so cuuuute! Especially when little Lee goes "yeeeaaahh" lol

  • daddy-o!

  • Myra, herself: I was sittin at my parents table doing my homework, and I answered the phone one day, and it was this really strange voice... and you know my Daddy was talking about startin a band with his cousin and he didn't want to, now, he hadn't seen Jerry since they were babies... and you know, finally, one day, Jerry said 'Fine, where are you I'm coming to your house.' And my Daddy got in his car, and drove to the intersection where Jerry was... and he brought him home.

  • Myra, herself: I remember seenin him yeah, he had a red plaid shirt on, he had a goatee, and he had a pair of blue jeans, and cowboy boots.

  • and Myra said that he was driving a black and white '55 Ford Coupe

  • The subtitles are great...if I was deaf

  • @Dallasboy678 lmao hillarious... i was thinkin the same thing. can you take em off?

  • @Dallasboy678 And if we were, it would make us watching a movie about the life of a musician that much more bitter.

  • Gotta buy this DVD. Fantastic movie! Jerry Lee was THE MAN!!! Love his music. Thanks for posting this.

  • This movie was cheesy, but I just can't turn it off when it's on. Furthermore, Jimmy Swaggart was right; rock and roll is the devil's music. That's why everyone likes it.

  • ughh i hate FAKE southern accents ain't nothing more annoyin than that. but i do like this move though =-)

  • @dixibabe2010 Dennis Quaid is from Texas so his accent is real. Winona Ryder is from Minn.

  • They meet in 1956 fall in love in 1957 get married in 1958 and have a kid in 1959 but the movie seems like its one year

  • @xoxomileycyrusxoxo15 They actually got married in December of 1957! But all the rest is true! Because the scandal was in June of 1958!

  • thanks for the subtitles!

my English is shit (at the moment...:D)

  • thank you so much for the subtitles i wear hearing aids most of the time i can never hear movies on youtube

  • I would have liked it if it didn't have subtitles!

  • you can take them off. i actually put them there because people wanted them :/

  • @20jaime10 Get rid of the five stars comment.

Things that get high ratings get flagged for checking by youtube. Especially at 10 mins as it is almost a guaranteed full movie video and it will be removed

  • @guyboxerdog Well said. I just wanted to make it more popular so more people would see it. But it's risky enough. :)

  • @20jaime10 how?.

  • @OLDSKOOLCHAOSSorry, but how what?

  • @20jaime10 to turn off subtitles

  • @20jaime10

too many damn illegal aliens, lol

  • winona ryder is so cute. i love her, despite her mental struggles. she's a fine actress. has been and always will be a fave of mine. loved her in 'mermaids' and 'heathers'.

  • Love this movie

  • i havent watched this movie in a lonq time, but on my b-day my mother surprised me with the dvd i was so happy and exticted to watch it! thxs mom i love you!

  • its a goood movie why did pepole back then sayed it sucked

  • @57unkown Because the movie mocks Jerry Lee. He is not the idiotic character, portrayed in the movie. Dennis Quaid learned that the hard way.

  • @bigredlover77 I disagree. JLL was a violent misogonist drug addict racist.

You seem to know a lot about him so would know that in the scene with Chuck Berry, he did not call him "Star", he called him "Nigger"

Sounds like an idiot to me.

Great pianist and a great movie. Still a dick though.

  • @guyboxerdog And I disagree with you. Yes, I know a lot about him. But first things first... In the movie scene w/ Chuck Berry, JLL said " top that killer". In reality, he may have( and I wouldn't be surprised if he did) call him a nigger. However, the entire United States was racially segregated in that era, 'racism' was not a term yet, and it wasn't considered unacceptable. The movie is a satire. But you're pretty damn judgmental too from what I can read- that must make you an idiot too?

  • @bigredlover77 That is such a weak argument you could not make tea with it. "Back in the old days before racism was bad" as someone else lost in the wrong end of being right once said.

If I am an idiot for thinking that of someone who would call a black man "nigger" then I am happy being one.

At least I am not in denial/racist.

Also, I would check out the "Entire" statement about segregation.

  • @guyboxerdog There are many things worse to be than a racist- dipshit. And it's not limited to a white man calling a black person a nigger. I'll bet you call working people 'rednecks' too, or rural people ' hillbillies'!! yeah you do! You're a toxic puddle of yeast-infected vaginal discharge. You are in denial b'c I'm not a racist Who the fuck are you to judge anyone?!

  • Duplicating your reply does not make it any more just!

Guessing at statistics has always been the domain of the prick. You are a pathetic attempt at a fan. You cannot debate without name-calling. "You are disagreeing with me!!!! How dare you. I am going to abuse you rather than state my case intelligently"

As far as your ludicrously hypocritical question of "who am I to judge?". Well in your case, your intellectual superior.

    Go burn a cross.

Don't bother replying.I will not be, you are too dull.

  • @guyboxerdog I don't deal in statistics. 2- You're the hypocrite. The proof is that you think you're intellectually superior, the classic bigot/racist theory. 4- You based your argument at the beginning calling someone you don't know a racist, idiot, murderer, pedophile, etc. He's not my hero, I have none. You can't read between the lines. And you can't even see all the judgments you've cast on others since your 1st response to my 1st comment. You 'think' you know.

  • @bigredlover77 You are a total cunt. I tried having an intelligent debate with you but you obviously find anyone disagreeing with you a personal insult. On the subject of judging people; I do not call people "rednecks" or "hillbillies". I am not of your ilk.

It is not my fault that your hero is a racist moronic wife-murdering paedophile.

So, get over yourself. If you are a racist, which you clearly are (from your half-arsed justification for Jerry Lee's) at least admit it.

    You, are a CUNT, cunt

  • @guyboxerdog There you go again w/ the name calling. You started this out by judging a man by what you think he said or did over 50 years ago!! 2- You're obviously as pre- judgmental as any ' racist' (which I am not) . So, I say you are the CUNT.

  • @57unkown It was "The Devils Music" Hehe!

  • GREAT MOVIE !!
