Great list :) I wanted to read a tonne of books this year however I've fallen off the reading bandwagon the last couple of months due to work and other commitments. What did you think of The Host?
okay,i meant white mughals, spelling mistake.anyway ,how u finish reading that no of books, while being active in youtube and so?after reading ,what you do with those books.
hey u seem to be reading too much of fantacy.take adifferent road for a change.by the way its not how much you have read that matters in the end its what you read.try 'white moguls'.still you insist on your own style,do try diana gabldon "outlander '.
@JustAPrayer Hmm. I read it a long time ago, so I don't remember all the details. But I liked it, it was a quick read. There's something really fascinating about the LaZelle family.
I don't know how many books i've read this year but some of my favorites are The Valley Of Horses, The Realms Of The Gods, Forest Of Secrets, Twilight (Warriors), Werewolf Rising, Blood & Chocolate, The Deathly Hallows, Tricksters Queen, The Neddiad, Wolf Brother and Sunrise.
wow. even if i made this goal 4 myself, i don't think i could stick 2 it cause i would eventually get bored with many books, causing me 2 search 4 other boooks. u have n outstanding ability 2 pick the right books & not get bored, making it easier 2 stick 2 ur goal. oh, & i think ur so damn cute. by by ;-)
I think you have really good taste in books. I have a goal for this year. I am going to try and read 500 books in 2009. I am at 133 books right now. I running my library dry of books. I am glad you put this up. I have some new books i can read. Thanks!
I really enjoyed shifting through your list of books. I'd read most of them but there were some petty nice jems in there. By the way, and sorry if this is a little picky of me, you held up Spindle's End instead of the Outlaws of Sherwood! (Didn't like Outlaws, by the way. That was on my own 2008 reading list and I thought it was pretty dry. Deerskin by the same author is quite good, though. Finished it today.)
I did, too. It was like a trainwreck - you knew something bad was coming, but it was too good ... okay my analogy just got a little creepy and morbid.
ok... in another comment i recommended that you read "The Host" ..... then i saw this vid and realized you already have LOL you are AWESOME... you know i read that book before any of the TWILIGHT books so needless to say that i LOVE THE HOST more :) and then i got around to reading Twilight hahha and i thought that one was going to be stupid but i ended up liking it. haha
I thought so. Be forewarned that it starts out really slowly (but I consistently weep every time I get to the end). I found the relationships and themes were a lot more complex.
i agree with JessiEvaS here. The Host starts off slow. you don't have a grasp on the story at first. THEN you get to somewhat the middle and BOOM you find yourself unable to put it down. i also cried countless times reading this book and my heart races with the character :) highly recommended.
I'm really conflicted about "Twilight." I wouldn't say it's a good book - it's badly written, and I'm not sure how I feel about some of the underlying themes. However I still find it (and its sequels) highly enjoyable. I would recommend it if you're looking for a fun, quick read.
I have read a lot of the books you have mentioned. I recommend you read Tithe, Valiant, and Ironside by Holly Black. They are "Modern Faerie Tales" and all while Valient is seperate from the other two it takes place in the same setting and you also have some character's intereacting with each other from the different books.
Ooh, actually I've read Holly Black's entire bibliography. She's fabulous, isn't she? Her "modern faerie" books remind me of Charles de Lint a little.
Yep, I've read "Ink Exchange." I thought it was okay, but not as good as I was expecting. I'm looking forward to the sequel to "Wicked Lovely" when it comes out in May.
I think I've read at least 30 books this year. This video actually motivated me to move up a notch or two for 2009. bahaha it's not like I have anything better to do, I'm usually dying of boredom these days. ^.^
I'm planning to pursue this goal in 2009. I really enjoyed reading a selection of books this year and I've already got a few books ready to read that I got for Christmas.
I know, I love the Harry Potter books. I usually re-read the entire series every year, but I got too caught up in life stuff to have time this year :(
I'm planning on doing this in 2009. I think I read about that anyway though I've never really kept track, which is one of the things I'd like to change, but it should be a good encouragement to continue.
It's not my favourite of John Green's by any means, but it was really funny and enjoyable - probably one of the better books I've read this year. And the annotations he uses throughout the book are a nice touch.
The Shawshank Redemption A Brief History of Time by S. H. A Thousand Splendid Suns Girls of Riyadh by Rajaa S. Stupid White Men by M. M. The Kite Runner The Autobiography of Malcolm X by A. H. Dude, Where's My Country? by M. M. Three Cups of Tea by G. M. A Beautiful Mind by S. Nasar Fast Food Nation by Eric Schlosser Da Vinci Code by D. Brown The World Is Flat by T. Friedman The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins The Demon Haunted World by Carl Sagan + 10s of medical books :p
Nice video, that's a considerable list of books! I wish I'd read half as many this year - I think I'll set a goal for 2009. A lot of the books in your list will definitely be on mine. I'm guessing you enjoyed most of them =)
Thanks, Beedle the Bard is the prize of my book collection. And I definitely recommend setting a goal - I find I always read more when I know I'll get to add another book to my list.
you have read SO many books! holy shit. I looked up "The Host" and the plot sounds really interesting. Gonna check it out.

You read a fistful of sky! What'd you think? Personally I thought the ending didn't wrap everything up, not to say the book itself was bad.
