It's all over. I thought they were going to end it with the closing of the fire house. Like they made a big deal about it last season and now it stays open? Okay.
I love the show, don't get me wrong. I thought the death of Lou was sorta rushed a bit since it was the last episode. They should have had him die in the fire at the beginning of the season and they all had to deal with it and maybe mid season they left the house, maybe moved on once in a while hung out together or all just stayed.

Thought it was a great show and glad not all of them got killed in the fire. You did have to expect at least one or two glad only one and makes sense it would be Lou with all the health problems not long for the job anyways. The ashes seen was hysterical lmao , ty Dennis Leary for a great show and i will really miss it but will always watch it over an over again
Of course as I watched the opening I said "I'm gonna need a bigger box of tissues" then good ole Tommy Gavin makes you laugh on the damn couch! I think it was perfectly done. I, like many expected more drama but that just wasn't what Leary wanted I guess with the 10 yr coming this sunday, that is enough in itself. I knew Lou would make a great ghost! I feel like they shouldve done like a prequel season, leading up to an episode where they got the call for 9/11 when the towers got hit. showing the relationship between tommy and jimmy and them working side by side and then jimmy going to save others and getting killed
Theyre having them all die because it over, shows done. This ending seems to be based on a real life tragedy. Dennis Learys cousin was part of the Worchester fire in Mass in Dec. 1999~when two homeless people started the fire in an empty warehouse. The building was filled with traps and there were no clear exits. It was a death Trap. 6 Firefighters died in there that day. It was a 5 alarm status. Dennis's Cousin died. I believe it will end in honor of that tragedy also.

I can tell you when the show first came out I said "oh hell no, I'm not watching anything with Leary" I wasn't a big fan, however the FDNY was all the bait I needed to get me to watch, and I am glad I did. I have a new respect for him and the show is not only a great drama it has the best parts of comedy that can be mixed into it. The entire Cast is great and That's what made the show great to me. So my opinion is get the Netflix ! :)
So I'm an FX viewer, but I've avoided watching every single episode of Rescue Me for one simple fact:
I've never been able to stand Dennis Leary's straightfaced quick-tongued angry cynical every-man schtick. Mostly because I think it's the EXACT OPPOSITE of every man and has therefore always made him look like a giant douchebag to me... even before the word douchebag existed.
But then I read the reviews of the show, and I'm torn. Should I Netflix it, or stand my ground? Someone chime in plz.
@ProduceMan117 I really hope you decide to Netflix it... the first 5 seasons are on there and unlike other shows that may reference 9/11 but this show's anchored by that day. I think it mixes comedy and drama better than any show I've ever seen.
The vid is out for everyone to watch, Lou dies everyone else lives end of story. The multiple casket scene is from a dream Tommy has that Lou is the sole survivor attending there funeral.
Lieu dies, everyone else lives, janet has the baby, tommy delivers it, mikey opens the box with llieu's ashes in it while they are driving to the funeral and the ashes go everywhere so they supplement them with cake mix... tommy doesn't retire, franco becomes lieutenant, final scene is lieu as a ghost talking to tommy, the end.
Personally, I'd care not a bit, if all of the guys in the fire died, except for Black Shawn. Of the 6, he is the only one that ever displayed more than an ounce of brains, on most episodes. Tommy dragged everyone down to his level. Lou could never control his inner emotions, being scammed by people and eventually being responsible for Damien's injuries. Carlos, AKA Lothario, had a piss-poor attitude about most things, i.e. women, kids, 9/11. White Shawn and Mike were too stupid to pass the exam!
i kinda hopes he dies, bc to me it would be fitting, i dont want him to be already dead and jimmy really lived, i dont want him to wake up in the end and turns out hes been dreaming, i dont want evry1 to die but him and he has to choose, bc really, thats what the writers want you to think bc its happened so many times before, but what doesnt happen often if ever, is that the promo is exactly what you think it is, and you find it too hard to belive so you go ahead and find solutions. ill missthis
i feel like they are all going to die, if not all we know at least 2 of them, if you look closely at :08 you can see 2 caskets being carried in, and also at :19-:21 you see two or three fire outifts, that fade away.... Definately going to be a sad and emotional finale

A Review Came out this Morning explaining It is Not Giving anything away letting the audience know Tommy does indeed survive, and it is him with a New Class of Candidates at the end.
Though this finale will be amazing whatever happens, I will miss this show immensely ... best thing on TV for a long time. I'm not ashamed to say "Get the Kleenex ready!"
Ok this is gonna sound crazy but listen at around 8 secs, 14 secs and 18-19 secs and u will hear booms... Its pretty loud at the 8 and 18-19 ones with the 14 sec sound being extremely faint.
I thought it might be just this copy of the commercial, maybe some audio distortion but in other copies of it the sounds are there as well...
I have been reading these comments since Thursday, and all this speculation is sooo great! I personally believe Tommy lives, and Lou dies (along with someone else), because this entire series has been based off of Tommy losing people that were close to him. BUT WE SHALL SEE 16 HOURS!!!
One other thing, some people are saying Tommy has been dead all along. That can't be true guys, b/c remember back in earlier seasons he was screwing Sheila. She can't be screwin herself people!!! LOL
1. If Tommy dies, black shawn survives. If black Shawn survives. I'm saying this because of coollen, or her family. One of them should survive
2. TOMMY survives: There are pictures of last episode that looks like the Pilote Episode, but, this time, Tommy points to 2 guys, and one of them seems to be Black Shawn, maybe death (yoyu know tommy sees ghosts, so it could be black Shawn's picture)
I definitely think Lou is one of the deaths. That would hit Tommy and the crew most. Or they go the route of "Worcester 6" where the entire crew dies (all 6 of them) together. Note: Denis Leary had a cousin and close friend that both died in the Worcester fire.
I think they are going to kill off Tommy, Sean, and black Sean those are the only guys they show in flashback scenes in the fire truck. But above all I really think Tommy is going to die. I can't see them keeping him alive.
Tommy most likely survives the fire. based on the pictures and released from the final episode, he is seen giving a speech to new probies down at the training facility.
Great writing and it will be interesting to see what else happens
Totally sucks that the series is over but it had a great run. It was and might always be my all time favorite. Thank you Denis Leary.

I feel like they shouldve done like a prequel season, leading up to an episode where they got the call for 9/11 when the towers got hit. showing the relationship between tommy and jimmy and them working side by side and then jimmy going to save others and getting killed

Theyre having them all die because it over, shows done. This ending seems to be based on a real life tragedy. Dennis Learys cousin was part of the Worchester fire in Mass in Dec. 1999~when two homeless people started the fire in an empty warehouse. The building was filled with traps and there were no clear exits. It was a death Trap. 6 Firefighters died in there that day. It was a 5 alarm status. Dennis's Cousin died. I believe it will end in honor of that tragedy also.

@produceman. I can tell you when the show first came out I said "oh hell no, I'm not watching anything with Leary" I wasn't a big fan, however the FDNY was all the bait I needed to get me to watch, and I am glad I did. I have a new respect for him and the show is not only a great drama it has the best parts of comedy that can be mixed into it. The entire Cast is great and That's what made the show great to me. So my opinion is get the Netflix ! :)

So I'm an FX viewer, but I've avoided watching every single episode of Rescue Me for one simple fact:
I've never been able to stand Dennis Leary's straightfaced quick-tongued angry cynical every-man schtick. Mostly because I think it's the EXACT OPPOSITE of every man and has therefore always made him look like a giant douchebag to me... even before the word douchebag existed.
But then I read the reviews of the show, and I'm torn. Should I Netflix it, or stand my ground? Someone chime in plz.

@ProduceMan117 I really hope you decide to Netflix it... the first 5 seasons are on there and unlike other shows that may reference 9/11 but this show's anchored by that day. I think it mixes comedy and drama better than any show I've ever seen.

The vid is out for everyone to watch, Lou dies everyone else lives end of story. The multiple casket scene is from a dream Tommy has that Lou is the sole survivor attending there funeral.

Lieu dies, everyone else lives, janet has the baby, tommy delivers it, mikey opens the box with llieu's ashes in it while they are driving to the funeral and the ashes go everywhere so they supplement them with cake mix... tommy doesn't retire, franco becomes lieutenant, final scene is lieu as a ghost talking to tommy, the end.

Personally, I'd care not a bit, if all of the guys in the fire died, except for Black Shawn. Of the 6, he is the only one that ever displayed more than an ounce of brains, on most episodes. Tommy dragged everyone down to his level. Lou could never control his inner emotions, being scammed by people and eventually being responsible for Damien's injuries. Carlos, AKA Lothario, had a piss-poor attitude about most things, i.e. women, kids, 9/11. White Shawn and Mike were too stupid to pass the exam!

i kinda hopes he dies, bc to me it would be fitting, i dont want him to be already dead and jimmy really lived, i dont want him to wake up in the end and turns out hes been dreaming, i dont want evry1 to die but him and he has to choose, bc really, thats what the writers want you to think bc its happened so many times before, but what doesnt happen often if ever, is that the promo is exactly what you think it is, and you find it too hard to belive so you go ahead and find solutions. ill missthis

i feel like they are all going to die, if not all we know at least 2 of them, if you look closely at :08 you can see 2 caskets being carried in, and also at :19-:21 you see two or three fire outifts, that fade away.... Definately going to be a sad and emotional finale

Ok this is gonna sound crazy but listen at around 8 secs, 14 secs and 18-19 secs and u will hear booms... Its pretty loud at the 8 and 18-19 ones with the 14 sec sound being extremely faint.
I thought it might be just this copy of the commercial, maybe some audio distortion but in other copies of it the sounds are there as well...

I have been reading these comments since Thursday, and all this speculation is sooo great! I personally believe Tommy lives, and Lou dies (along with someone else), because this entire series has been based off of Tommy losing people that were close to him. BUT WE SHALL SEE 16 HOURS!!!
One other thing, some people are saying Tommy has been dead all along. That can't be true guys, b/c remember back in earlier seasons he was screwing Sheila. She can't be screwin herself people!!! LOL

1. If Tommy dies, black shawn survives. If black Shawn survives. I'm saying this because of coollen, or her family. One of them should survive
2. TOMMY survives: There are pictures of last episode that looks like the Pilote Episode, but, this time, Tommy points to 2 guys, and one of them seems to be Black Shawn, maybe death (yoyu know tommy sees ghosts, so it could be black Shawn's picture)

I definitely think Lou is one of the deaths. That would hit Tommy and the crew most. Or they go the route of "Worcester 6" where the entire crew dies (all 6 of them) together. Note: Denis Leary had a cousin and close friend that both died in the Worcester fire.

I think they are going to kill off Tommy, Sean, and black Sean those are the only guys they show in flashback scenes in the fire truck. But above all I really think Tommy is going to die. I can't see them keeping him alive.

Tommy most likely survives the fire. based on the pictures and released from the final episode, he is seen giving a speech to new probies down at the training facility.
Great writing and it will be interesting to see what else happens
