  • Beer bellys lol.

  • Awesome vid! great comparison! whoever decides to invade the US is going to be fucked.

  • @GunfightersINC You want a cookie?

  • @GunfightersINC You hear him say "That's a first" in the video. He has had the 1911 since it was new... in the 1970s. Get back to me when your HK has been that reliable for 35 years.

  • @GunfightersINC

Anyone who's NEVER had an autoloader jam has probably not shot it much.

Get back to us after you put 10,000+ rounds through it.

  • @Blahblobify good point, however..after reviewing your channel description I've come to the conclusion you're a simple minded asshat that belives everything he's told...keep drinkin' that purple drink and repeat after me...the government is here to protect us...the government is here to protect us...dumbass.

  • @GunfightersINC

What makes you say that? Because I'm not a Charlie Manson fan, don't think the moon landings were faked, nor do i buy the conspiritard claim that a cruise missile with a puny 1000 lb warhead brought down the entire side of the quadruple reinforced Pentagon and blasted a 100 yard wide hole in it?

  • @Blahblobify ..so in your opinion what brought down 7? and where was the "plane" that hit the pentagon? it's the first plane crash to ever not have a wreckage in the history of plane crashes..except of course for flight 93...I don't know what happened on 9/11...but I'll be damned if I believe the crap they were spewing..you on the other hand..seem to eat it right up and love the taste.. not only is it frustrating but extremely sad..for god sake wake up and ask a question or two.

  • @GunfightersINC

You have read some conspiritard shit and you believed it without checking. American flight 77 parts were found all over the place, google it, educate yourself, LOOK at the parts with American Airlines markings.

Do you believe everything you are told by conspiracy monkeys?

  • @Blahblobify ....bahahaa, ...bahahaaa...that's all I'm hearing...I've seen the pictures of the close ups on the burn piles...like i said...keep drinkin that purple drink..and when the TSA is fingerbanging your daughters pussy looking for terrorists at some a highway checkpoint just remember "it's for your own protection"...dumbass.

  • @GunfightersINC

I live in Arizona, go through the Border Patrol checkpoints all the time. They are looking for mexicans, but people like you are offended because it "violates your rights". I'm trying to imagine you being drafted like I was and sent to Vietnam, you take offense at being asked if you're an American?

  • @GunfightersINC I did 6 years including a tour in Ramadi in 04'..and I said TSA...not BP. Of course I wasn't drafted like you were I joined thinking the military was there to defend freedom and to protect those who couldn't defend themselves...I didn't realize I would end up storm trooper sent out to help pillage the natural resources of other countries. 9/11 is a bullshit excuse to start the globalization agenda, pure an simple. America starts wars by attacking itself then blaming their target.

  • @GunfightersINC Of course, imperialism has always been the agenda, as it was with the British Empire. Any superpower who is THE superpower must make a globalized imperial effort to maintain supremacy. Like it or not, the end justifies the means. It's the only reason we have the quality of life that we have been afforded. If you don't like it, I'm sure any other country with sub-par standards of living and lack of freedoms would be more than willing to accept you.

  • the silenced one is hardly louder than a decent pimp slap, i dig it.

  • Dear Santa....

  • I have a question about suppressing semiautomatic firearms which normally fire supersonic ammunition. If you load subsonic ammo, can you swap out the recoil springs or other parts for lighter ones to make the action cycle without manual manipulation between shots?

  • @BlackdirtWarrior Yes, you can do that with many guns. However, you can also load subsonic ammo that will cycle the normal, non-altered action of many firearms. For example, most 9mm pistols will cycle 115gr supersonic ammo and 147gr subsonic ammo equally well with stock springs. Same goes for .45 (185gr ammo is supersonic, 230gr is not).

  • @BlackdirtWarrior are you talking about a 22? the only ammo ive ever not have cycle is Agulia .22 LR Super Colibri all you hear is a click if you mod the springs it will cycle but you will need to polish the feed ramp and chamber so it feeds the round don,t try to alter a gun your self a good gunsmith can do it for u

  • basically what you hear is the sound of the slide

  • WOW awesome!! I cant belive how much difference it made!!!

  • I always heard that silencers werent that effective.

  • @K2theog Not true, although some silencers are more effective than others, depending on caliber, design, barrel length, etc.

  • @K2theog I've found that 'silencer' is probably a misleading label. A 'moderator' can usually achieve a noise reduction of a round 20 - 30 decibels. My .243 win with a mod still sounds like a 20g shotgun. Even my .17hmr makes a very audible thump with the mod on. Low powered subsonic weapons (9mm, .22lr, FAC Air Rifle etc) suppress very well. Supersonic rounds seem to counteract the effectiveness of a moderator due to the annoying sonic boom made by the bullet.

  • @K2theog All it is is like a muffler for a car. Have you ever herd a car running with no muffler?

  • @K2theog They work but we're talking 160dB down to like 125dB. It makes a difference but we're not talking quiet enough to kill someone in a quiet space and have nobody else notice.

Also it sounds a LOT quieter on a video than it really is because the waveform is compressed. Kind of like how a gunshot sounds loud on this video, but in person it would be ear-bleedingly loud.

  • @Mackinstyle True, but quiet enough to disguise the shot from a short distance away. I'm certain I could fire this pistol in my garage and the neighbors (40ft away) would be unaware. I have fired off whole magazines of suppressed .22 in the backyard before without my wife knowing, and she's been on the other side of the same exterior wall.

  • @paintballplayer700 i shoot unsuppressed 22 rounds all of the time and no one knows but if i let off a 45 round the whole town would know

  • @Mackinstyle Wouldnt it be a lot more 'silenced' with subsonic ammo as well?

  • @K2theog

They're most effective on subsonic rounds, and .45 is, as far as I'm aware, always subsonic.

  • @briantotse3 Nah, the lighter rounds are supersonic.

  • That looks like fun!

  • hey um, dum question, the 1911 with supressor, it looks like the suppressor is hanging off the end of the barrel and dropping the shot, granted im not an expert or anything, but would somebody give me an explanation as to why the supressor seems to be hanging?

  • @cadchhdbdc It's a camera illusion. The barrel and suppressor are perfectly aligned in real life. If they weren't, the bullet would strike the baffles inside the suppressor, causing a catastrophic failure.

  • Do 1911 pistols malfunction more with a suppressor adding weight to the muzzle of the gun?

  • @IMFDB The silencer uses a spring-loaded piston called a Neilsen Device to uncouple the mass of the silencer from the rearward motion of the barrel/slide assembly. This is necessary on most Browning-action pistols, not just the 1911.

  • @paintballplayer700 Is that with all suppressors or just this one? Can you just add a suppressor and a lonewolf threaded barrel on a Kimber Warrior II 1911 and make it function with no problems at all?

  • @IMFDB Most .45cal pistol suppressors include a Neilsen device. The only ones I'd buy currently are the AAC TiRant or Silencerco Osprey. Most 1911s take a little fitting when you install the threaded barrel and suppressor to get everything running smoothly, but then it should be no problem. Just know in advance that it might be a little temperamental at first.

  • does silencers reduce recoil a little or does it just stay the same?

  • Nice!

  • @ThePopeAndy you tell him man! No fun shooting any unsilenced gun without ear protection, it's fuckin sore. Just wondering, would a .45 be as loud or even louder than a .22 rifle? I live in Ireland so there's a blanket ban on any new hangun licenses from 2008 :(

  • @Blundy1993 a silenced .45 is comparable to a .22 rifle, an unsilenced .45 is *much* louder than a .22 rifle

I would put the scale something like this .22 rifle, .22 pistol, lower caliber handgun (like a 9mm), higher caliber handgun, ak-47 type rifle (shorter type rifle cartridges), shotgun, high powered rifle, from less to more noise respectively.

  • Would a suppressor still be effective with regular ammo aposed to subsonic

  • @DeWiz001 Regular .45 ammo is subsonic. Suppressors are still effective with supersonic ammo, but not as effective as with subsonic ammo.

  • @DeWiz001 during the firing of a round you actually hear two booms. the gun powder in the round, and the break of the sound barrier. all a supressor does is capture the gasses from exiting the muzzle. but as Paint700 said .45 rounds (most) are already subsonic. So in my opinion, .45 is the best firearm to supress because you dont have to load your own ammo to get it just under 768 MPH and still effective. Thank for the sweet video Paint700 :)

  • would you have to get a threaded barrel and put it in the 1911 or do the sell 1911's with threaded barrels?

  • i used to know a guy who got his tax stamp so he could put a suppressor on his AK. in my opinion it was a waste of time and money, but it did make a startling difference.

  • Lol. I know you meant that. I was just joking.

    :-)

  • That was seriously night and day

  • Dosnt he know that the M9 Suppresed still shows up on the Map? :0

    LOL yeah CoD references!!!

  • @wadad17 wow, your dick is small

  • @heyja9 +1

  • @wadad17: This gun is a Colt, the M9 is made by Beretta. You're a jackass.

  • @PooPoo2U Really. Well thanks for telling me.... a year after i posted the comment....

  • @wadad17: There's no time constraint on stupidity.

  • @PooPoo2U Clearly.

  • this is really cool. i want suppressors for my guns someday but its really expensive.

  • 2cc of water in the silencer? I've never heard that. Pretty cool.

  • @NosferatuTIONEN Some of the water boils into steam with each shot, absorbing energy that would have been released as heat and sound. Makes it much quieter for a couple of magazines.

  • @paintballplayer700 I never thought of that. Nice idea. Could you make a comparison video of with and without the water?

  • @paintballplayer700 silcon motor lube the spray stuff works longer

  • @NosferatuTIONEN this is the difference between a "wet can" and a "dry can" - wet meaning it's being run with a water or oil to help suppress sound, as other poster explains :)

  • @gadammit69 right, because the unsilenced 1911 three feet away isn't loud or anything.

  • @paintballplayer700 i was about to say the same thing lol

  • @paintballplayer700

    lol exactly.

  • @paintballplayer700 Yeah, seriously. Being to the sides or in front of someone shooting a gun is going to be louder than being behind it. Of course he is going to wear earmuffs.

  • @Apathesis0 if your in front of someone shooting a gun your obviously dead, lol

  • @Apathesis0 well not if he's in front of someone shooting a gun. Dead people aren't usually concerned for their hearing. Lol

  • @topheavykoolaid You can be in front of someone, and still off to the side so you are not directly in the line of fire, which is what I meant. And the gun will sound louder.

  • @gadammit69

Sub sonic ammo can hurt you ears. It not for loud protection its the pulse that damages your ear drums. HAHAHAHHAH isnt that fuckin funny?

  • @gadammit69 there's a fine line between being a coward and being stupid

  • @gadammit69 you were so pawned

  • @gadammit69 You're an idiot.

  • @gadammit69 you idiot on he's right there is an UNISILENCED Colt idiot !

  • @gadammit69 you are the most, if not,the top, stupid troll here in the world of youtube. reading your stupid comment just freaks the hell out of me.

  • @gadammit69

    1. A suppressed 1911 isn't that quiet and will still be loud enough to cause hearing damage. Suppressors do not work like they do in the movies.

    2. The operator just to the left of the one you've insulted is firing an unsuppressed pistol. Another reason why ear protection was needed.

    3. Range rules apply: if the range is hot, ALL PERSONS PRESENT MUST USE APPROPRIATE EYE AND EAR PROTECTION, NO EXCEPTIONS. Disobedience of the range rules for ANY reason can get you ejected.

  • @gadammit69 You obviously have not shot a .45 without ear protection before. Or do you somehow enjoy harming your ears and like a loud ringing noise for several hours?

    Complete moron.

  • to me it looks like the suppressor is pointing low like its too heavy?

  • @MrKyleSchick Nope. If that was true, the bullets would not fly straight through the suppressor, resulting in a catastrophic baffle strike.

  • How is the fit with the aftermarket barrel. I have a TRP Operator and Springfield told me, "we aren't aware of any aftermarket bull barrels for the TRP operator." I need a threaded barrel

  • @flyhighkev The fit is good. Apart from EFK, lots of manufacturers make bull barrels. Jarvis, Storm Lake, etc.

  • thats crazy, i didnt know a silenced .45 would sound so quiet like that.

  • @MilesVash01 It's far from "quiet". I would still wear ear protection. If you use water or wire pulling gel it will hack a few decibels off.

  • .45 ACP, my personal favorite handgun round. I'm either gonna use a 1911 as my concealed weapon or a Taurus 9mm 24/7 or 24/7 OSS

  • How is the accuracy and durability of the efk firedragon barrel? I'm looking into getting one when I get a 1911.

  • dosent a silencer decrease accuracy

  • @Shadowsszz no, if anything it helps accuracy because the barrel is longer. But a subsonic round should be fired with a suppressor to avoid a sonic boom, which means the bullet goes slower, which means less range/stopping power

  • @Shadowsszz Nope, that gun is a tack driver.

  • @Shadowsszz no you play too much mw2

  • @spenceisanawesomeman Total metal jacket. The base of the bullet is also jacketed to prevent lead deposition in the suppressor.

  • @paintballplayer700 I have never heard of TMJ specifically, is TMJ and FMJ interchangeable, or do FMJ rounds not cover the base of the bullet?

I'm not a reloader, so I haven't seen the base of an FMJ.

    -Travis

  • @TMihm1 FMJ does not cover the base. TMJ are fully encapsulated with gilding metal.

  • @TMihm1 TMJ stand for total metal jacket.. so yes fully covered.

  • Suppressed not silenced, sheesh

  • WOW! That's really quiet!

  • good silencer.

  • sounds like a bb gun.. great for stealth mission (because its really suppressed)

  • Love the .45 ACP. Subsonic ammo is not needed.

  • @hkrivell I wouldn't exactly say that. All 230gr .45acp ammo is subsonic, so while it's true you don't have to order "special" subsonic ammo, you still need subsonic (ie, 230gr) ammo for it to sound best.

  • that thing works great, all you can hear is the metal clinking together.

  • thats a bigg ass silencer and is rly unpractical is as big as a small sub machin gun

  • @dylbyl1234 It's no bigger than most other commercial .45 silencers. The AAC TiRant .45 is almost an inch longer than this one. Most commercial .45 cans are approximately 1.375" dia by 8-9" long. It's tough to get good sound from a smaller unit, since it has to have a big hole through the middle, which lowers the efficiency of the baffle stack.

  • is TMJ like FMJ but with a jacketed back or are they the same thing ?

  • @savage495 Exactly right, the TMJs have a copper jacketed base as well. That prevents lead from being vaporized by the explosion and being deposited in the silencer.

  • wow u hear the shell hit the ground that kool

  • very very cool

  • i love it i have a rock island 1911a1 tactical with a gemtech

  • how do you like your rock island? any problems? im looking for a reliable, affordable 1911 to replace an older colt...any suggestions are welcome!

  • @DoctorSess spring field arms is always a great choice and is deffenitly one of my personal favorites

  • anything but a Rock Island; I didn't know it was possible to make an unreliable gun with a 1911 design, but Rock Island has succeeded in doing so. My suggestion would be Springfield Armory's "loaded" 1911's, they are very affordable, but have all the features of higher end 1911's, such as beavertail grip safeties, full length guide rods, slide serrations, lowered and flared ejection ports, skeletonized hammers, titanium firing pins, ambi safeties, adjustable aluminum speed triggers etc.

  • the only issue I EVER had with my Rock Island was when it was new and I was breaking it in...did you just get a bad one? I should mention that I was feeding 230gr WinClean SWC when I had this problem. JHP, FMJ of all different weights functioned flawlessly thereafter

  • I never bought one, thankfully; but I put about 10 boxes of ammo through one, before my uncle did some action work on it (a friend gave the clunker to him). Was decently reliable with heavy 230's, but lead round nose handloads jammed often; worst part was that accuracy was horrific. Uncle ended up ditching the whole upper assembly for an oversize caspian slide & kart barrel, with wilson combat internals, wolf springs, and an Ed Brown speed trigger; now it is a shooter, b/c all the RI is gone

  • @RebelWrestler45...Sounds like you got a RI and made it into a race gun. Me personally, I plan to outfit mine with a suppressor(need a threaded barrel); gonna drill and tap the dust cover in order to install a picatinny rail; gonna checker the front strap; and then refinish it(maybe Aluma-Hyde or Duracoat). Once all that's done then I'll turn to the internals.

  • @1guncrazy1 No, not a race gun, all the mods did was make a 1911 perform as it should; no comp, adjustable sights, extended mag well etc. were added to make it a race gun. Its basically just a combat/tactical full size 1911 that has a good trigger and good precision. And you always should do all action work before you refinish the firearm; nicks and dings always happen whilst gunsmithing.

  • I have a Rock Island 1911 that has been Hell and back reliable and a bargain when I bought it for $300.

  • neat :)

quick question. When did you first get into pistols?

  • Been into firearms for decades.

  • @paintballplayer700 I am going to buy my first gun, which one would you recommend? I was looking at the glock 17, beretta 92FS, Ruger SR9, or jericho 941.

  • I would recommend handling all of them at a gun store, and test firing them or renting them if possible. No one can tell you for sure what pistol will fit your hands best, have the most manageable recoil for you, etc. There's no substitute for testing as many options as you can before buying.

  • One drawback for the glock in target shooting would be they're double action trigger.

But I dunno, I still love them.

  • The Glock is not a true double action pistol; the Glock operates exactly like a single action automatic, but with an internal hammer. All you need is a Vanek drop in to have a suitable target trigger; if you're willing to cough up the extra dough, have Vanek put in one of their "ultimate competition triggers", with a 1.5 pound pull weight with no creep; your local Glock gunsmith may be able to do it for cheaper.

  • Pick up a used G17. They are everywhere.

  • If the G17 feels good to you I would recommend that.

  • @subatomicparticlephy Start with a .22LR like the Ruger Mark III, get some safety and technique instruction. Then once you know what you like and what works for you (after trying several at the range), that'll help you decide what caliber/pistol design is best for your hands, mechanics, and shooting interests (competition, target, plinking, law enforcement, military, other).

You might find that shooting isn't your thing, no reason spending $700+ on a handgun if you're not going to use it.

  • @subatomicparticlephy

Beretta 92FS....Go to a gun show and look at all of them though

  • The gun description says a Springfield Armory TRP Operator. I thought the Springfield TRP and Operator were 2 different models???

  • You're half right. There is a TRP model (actually it's a whole series of models), which is a tricked-out 1911. There is (was) an Operator model, which was very basic but had a full-length light rail. Then they made the TRP Operator, which is tricked-out like the rest of the TRP series, but also has the light rail from the Operator. You can still find the TRP Operator on their website, though they've switched it to having a shorter rail.

  • that silenced 1911 is quieter than an airsoft gun lol. awesome.

  • Comment removed

  • What make of suppressor is that? It sounds awful quiet. What type of ammo were you using?

  • All the answers are in the video description.

  • Too bad wisconsin is full of liberals. This would be neat.

  • Vote for Scott Walker and Russ Feingold. We won't have concealed carry until the legislature is a little more balanced though. Just don't vote for Tom Barrett, for god's sake.

  • PS - I'm a less than conservative gun owner.

  • I didn't think a silencer could possibly be so effective as this on a loud gun like a .45. Amazing.

Question, though: Are silencers legal in places like NYS? People think of them as being used for sinister purposes, but I think it would be nice to do some shooting at the cabin with out disturbing the neighbors down the road.

  • They are legal in about 40 states, but NY is not one of them.

  • well the .45 acp is subsonic i think that helped make the gun quieter when using a silencer

  • Modern Warfare is a game made by computer programmers with no or very limited experience with combat weapons. They get info on weapons from"experts" some Military Veterans, or from google. Combine the three and you get questionable or even false information that causes even more misinformation especially when kids under 16 believe everything that happens in a game is reality.

  • Vector you are so right. A few years ago I was exactly like that, but now after reading up on firearms, and at least getting some degree of firearm knowledge (albeit not alot) I realize how little the developers of these games know about firearms. I'm a 14 year old and know much more about guns than most of the video game developers. It's really sad honestly.

  • a weapon needs to be experienced by them but they can't do that because people handle the recoil of guns differently. Another reason they can't get accurate information is because they are not the soldiers they are putting into the game.

  • Excellent video! First time I have ever actually seen a comparison between silenced vs. unsilenced. A silencer really does work, albiet not like in the movies, too a noticable degree.

  • Thanks for the comment!

  • judging sound that is as loud as gunfire in a video is as folly as judging the brightness of the sun in a video. Its well beyond the capabilities of

  • There's nothing wrong with using a comparison video to compare two guns using the same camera. The auto-level on the audio microphone will tend to decrease the volume on the loud gun and increase the volume on the quiet one, so if anything, videos probably underrepresent the difference between the two. No one's trying to get precise dB readings from video, just using it for a crude comparison, which is perfectly legit.

  • I hope you guys are using this knowledge for good things....Like assasinating 3rd world dictators and enemies of the state.

  • buy your suppressor "in state" pay ONE transfer tax.

check out gun broker, google "your state" class 3 transfers and start there.

suppressor don't slow down the bullet but in some designs may prevent it from reaching a certain potential speed.

most suppressed rifles in (pistol calibers) have shortened barrels.

the .45 acp round is usually cooking along at around 850 feet per second. it is faster than... nothing. except for most bb guns, no supersonic crack to deal with.

    not enuf rm 2 xpln

  • You can buy from a dealer in any state with only one transfer tax; he will send it to your local dealer on a Form 3, which is for tax-free transfers between dealers. Only purchases from private citizens in other states are taxed twice.

  • the reason a silencer affects bullet velocity is because it redirects the expanding gases in the suppressor's chambers. so instead of the gases propelling the bullet, they are allowed to go into the suppressors sound chambers and slow to subsonic levels and with a 45 the muzzle velocity is so low to start with it wouldnt take much to reduce it to subsonic speeds, greatly reducing the amount of sound it would produce upon exiting the sound chamber.

  • You are completely incorrect. A silencer does redirect the gas, but it's at the END of the muzzle. The gas has already accelerated the bullet up to normal speed when it exits the barrel and gets trapped in the silencer. Silencers DO NOT SLOW THE BULLET DOWN unless they use rubber wipes (1960s technology) or are installed over the barrel with holes drilled into the barrel to vent gas earlier (most don't do this).

  • @paintballplayer700

This is pretty much dead on. You'll find that far too many people base much of their real world gun knowledge on crap they see in Call of Duty MW.....

  • can you plz tell me specifically how and where to buy a .45 suppressor i really want 1 for my 1911a1

  • Ha cool cool, kinda scary that the silencer makes it sound just like a gas airsoft gun being fired.

  • don't silencers effect range though.

  • Makes sense, they slow the bullet down a little bit.

  • Actually modern silencers do not effect velocity, nor do they decrease range.

  • Comment removed

  • thats pretty freaking cool how much did the suppressor cost?

  • .45 suppressors run $500-1200, plus the $200 tax, plus a $50-100 transfer fee from many dealers if you buy from out of state.

  • does supressing your firearm hurt your Feet Per Second / kinetic energy at all???

  • Not one bit, modern silencers do not touch the bullet at all.

  • Holy shit....ive never heard a silenced gun like that!....they arent usually that quiet...

  • i think hes using sub sonic ammo. my buddy has a supressor for his sig 226 and it sounds quieter if he uses sub sonic ammo.

  • All 230gr .45ACP ammo is subsonic from a pistol-length barrel, no need for special subsonic loads.

  • Id just have to take your word for it, i wouldnt know the first thing about supresors other than when I shot it, I really enjoyed it. I may even try and get one.

  • To the old poster Sneakkyy.

The one that would kill a man faster is the one that hits his nervous system first. Lacking that, his cardiopulmonary system.

Holes in people are holes. Nobody ever got shot in the chest with a 9mm and immediately said "Thank God that wasn't a .45!" no no no. They said "Fuck! I've been shot!"

  • No you wouldent say thank god that wasnt a .45, you would of course say that after.

  • you state a very valuable statement :D. Medulla oblongata kills instantly and gives the body no time to have muscles react.

  • Or could it be because the suppressor releases so much gas/energy it doesn't have the energy to recharge the slide. Just a thought.

  • Negative, it's not the gas pressure/energy that cycles the slide. Suppressors actually INCREASE the backpressure of the gas, so they would tend to increase the cycling reliability of the pistol if your theory were true.

  • Which is better, a Beretta 92fs or the Springfield 1911 45ACP?

I can't decide on which to get. I know the Beretta is a lot cheaper though.
