And as a follow up, Love all your vids, Very Informative. You can call me out as toolbag though for clicking dislike. Considering switching my lighting to DMX and am kinda afraid to take the jump for due to lack of understanding. You make it look easy, so maybe i will do it sooner than later.
Interesting video. I was thinking of buying all the same fixture. But I got the RBB 3c controller and found that it did not work on certain lights. So at that point I felt that I would get all the same lights to work with the controller. But it seems now I figure the same controller but different lights from the same company. :)
In regards to uplighting such as was used in this video. I think it would be great if you could show a video of how you run all of the cables for these lights, how they connect to each other and their controller, and show you controlling what they can do. Some of the newer DJ's might not know or understand how all this goes together. Thanks and keep up the great videos.
Great video Brian, it looked like you were using the same light everywhere which looked awesome. It's good to know how you integrated the different lights and which controller you were using. Also like that you showed pictures of the controllers and vid from the event to help explain what you were talking about. Nicely done and thanks for all you do for the rest of us!
Brian, my pars are 5 channel. channel 1 appears to be a sequence, 2,3 and 4 are RGB and 5 is a speed for the sequence. Can i use a 3c controller with these lights?
@jazzyjaxroadshow very informative and great advice. I've considered including an uplighting package with my DJ pkgs. i am going to buy a duo station and utilize different lighting fixtures as suggested..makes sense!
@lisaart02 I think so. people spend a lot of time & money to make a room look sharp. I feel it's appreciated when we show up with a nice neat looking rig as well
@iglespepito I love doing clubs, but after the stroke i had in April, something had to give. I will be returning to clubs later on this season after everything else slows down. Just gotta take care of myself and not let this happen again
@lisaart02 : BSR is tired of this question, he's heard it a million times. He has subs, but not every application calls for subs, period. A wedding reception is not a dance club, it's an elegant event. Whether a subwoofer is needed depends on the client. Some wedding receptions I've done, they are like, "Yeah, we want subwoofers, lasers, fog/haze, we want it all, we want a dance club", but others are want more elegant, and don't want big deep bass at their reception...just the way it is.
@sleeperawaken36 I actually sold my old Subs and await new ones which are incredibly slow to get here, but in the mean time, these speakers give a really big full sound. I lugged subs around for years and stopped a year ago... and nobody has noticed (or at least they haven't complained) and continue to complement me on my sound
@djmarkcotter No, i don't think that works. We ran a long dmx cable out of the controler to the first light on the cream wall to the left, then started the chain
nice job brian almost felt like you should have been playing the mission impossible theme behind that video :-)
always like doing upligting as it looks more elegant for a wedding than a ton of truss over teh stage but gives the same effect on the dance floor also give you the chance to have some nice mood setting kinda lights on during the meal it kinda gives people the idea there is gonna be a party and puts them in the mood but befor the entertainment starts
Brain how did you connect the different lights you used to the Dou Station??
