  • There are some songs that noone should play.

  • lolo, robert smith was mad bc he didnt make post punk like old ian curtis

    cough couugh, dick ridin'

  • I'm sorry but Jason Cooper doesn't compare to Boris Williams on drums, in my opinion.

  • I kew ther had to be a video of this! great ! <3

  • "Do the hansa"

Remember to go Fu k yourself kiddies

The cure have gone through more line up changes than Roberts shades of lipstick.

This cover reminds me of the days when the cure used to wright albums that sounded like joy division

    Faith

    Pornography

  • @colbyryan100 actually, robert always uses Mac lipstick

I agree with what you said about albums though

  • @darthartie REALLY!?!?!?! whoot i use the same makeup as my IDOL

  • best cure video ever!

  • smooth excellant Saturday music... thanks Cure and Joy Division

  • Anyone know when they did this cover?

  • i don't think Jason is a bad drummer. It will just be cool to see one of the original lineups. You know Boris, Perry Bomante, or Roger Odonnell, and perl. That would be really cool to see. I saw them in May of 08 in KC Missouri without a keyboardist but it was still a good show.

  • Boris Williams... where are you????

get back to the Cure FGS!

  • ...this is The Cure's cover, it states in the description that it's a cover from Joy Division, and that's actually Robert Smith in this video. Sooo the title, video and description are all accurate and make sense. :)

  • its a cover u moron other bands do covers too

  • Is Simon playing here on Epiphone Jack Casady?

  • @nefryl

yeah looks like one of these

  • well this is nice not ian curtis in anyway but its ok

  • sweet

  • Am I the only human being on the planet that actually likes Jason Cooper?

  • hehehe no, I like Jason Cooper too :D I think he's really good

  • Ahh thank you. lol

  • I like him too, because I love all of The Cure, as I've been an obsessed Curewaif since '86. First time I saw them was at the August '86 University of Minnesota campus show- Northrup Auditorium, with my older sister and my best friend. I was 15 then. That single concert changed my musical and artistic life forever! And thats a positive thing. I love The Cure no matter what! I'm one of the one's who is sick and tired to the bone, with all the fake Cure fan on here, who crybaby about Jason.

  • @shakedydogshake ha! i met them in 85 & 87 in LA

  • No xD I hate all these people crying about boris

  • Tout à fait d'accord avec toi !!! moi aussi j'en ai marre !

  • GOD i wish I had the full version of this !

  • the drummer totally sucks!

the cure had a way better drummer in the past. the same guy who invented the drum intro in In between days... the guy who created the percussion in Close to Me, the great intro in Why can't I be You, the superb drum pattern in Last Dance, Closedown, etc.

jason, the drummer, is killing The Cure with all his horrible pre-recorded tapes that run in the background of nowadays Cure concerts.

just hear just like heaven, inbetween days.. totally spoiled by this guy.

  • Genial, ya había escuchado la rola, pero ver el video ¡sensacional! muchas gracias

  • whoever filmed this your lucky u got to be in the sameroom as ROBERT SMITH fuck lucky

  • Holy shit, does Robert Smith ever look like a scary SOB in this video. He makes the cast of the Twilight Series look like charaters fromseasme street.

  • well they are, right ?? ;)

  • It looks like it is actually The Cure in the footage. The only thing I am wondering is : why would a band that successful be playing in such a shitty studio? They look like they were older in this video and would have already made tons of cash. And who is the chick with the tamborine?

  • Maybe it's one of their girlfriends trying to be part of the band, lawl.

  • No, too ugly to be a girlfriend.

  • Hehe, that's a bit harsh. Maybe she does things that the other girls won't do =p

  • It would have to be some pretty far out stuff that she does. The Cure are not the most conventional group of lads. By looking at Robert Smith in this video; I would have to say that I would be afraid to imagine on what his fantasies are.

  • complete pleace

  • yeah its real, it used to be posted on cure's website. listen to the full version on mp3, it is one of the best covers everrrr!

  • to short, gimme more !!!

  • you played it perrfectly

  • Is this Robert Smith for sure? Or is it just a fake?

  • yes, that looks like Robert and the rest of the band members, for sure!

    what cool, rare footage!

    thank you and bless you!!!

  • yeah it's the Cure, they've done quite a few covers, available on a few bootlegs that are out there.

  • OMG I want to see more of this!!! I LOVE YOU ROBERT!!!

  • LEGEND

  • Legend... agree

  • I think they were recording the guitars. No talking/singing, drums we're quiet...

    ???

    Good stuff though!

  • Jason is by far the most skilled drummer the Cure has had. If you listen to Wild Mood Swings, the fills are so good, but its hard to tell who's playing when because there were like 4 different drummers on that album.

  • the drummer sucks!

  • Is not Curtis but is Smith!!!

  • Is it so hard for Robert Smith to PLAY and SING along ? LOL

    (I'm a fan however)

  • Just amazing! Such rare video! How Could you catch this?

  • they need o'donnell back on the keys!

  • I bet this is the first time jason heard that song. jason is a guy with different -and bad- musical influences that brings nothing to The Cure.

  • I love this, imagine being one of the people there, the lady in the corner was super excited LOL. I envy her.

  • (die schmilzt dahin vor ehrfurcht :-))

  • @Devoted2Mariah The song was recorded for a competition for an Australian radio station. Listeners had to come up with a song for the Cure to cover, and if the Cure chose to cover your suggestion, you got to be a part of it. Hence the girl in the corner with the tambourine.

  • @slackats thanks for clearing that up. i was wondering why she had that "glade to be their" look on her face.

  • @Devoted2Mariah she looks to be playing the tambourine. and by the smile on her face, i'm guessing she was asked to come over to a friends house only to realize that friend was friends with "The Cure" as well.

  • @itsmister2u

    Best day ever?

  • anyway.the cure never was a drum-band...fender vi rocks!

  • Jason the drummer spoils the song

Boris Williams is the best Cure drummer ever!

  • your right but andy is soo underated.. The Top had the best timing and the live stuff with andy made robert be able to explore alot better.. now theres this guy.. what a drag..

  • nice voice :)))))

  • The 'new' drummer isnt new and has been with the group for over 10 years...

  • @takerele The new drummer will be the new drummer. He did not play in those years.

  • @JimmyRomantic Jason joined The Cure in 1995 after Boris left. I wrote this in response to someone writing that Jason is 'new' when in fact he has been around longer than any Cure drummer has.

  • @takerele I think Lol Tolhurst must playing on drumms in dark period (1980-1982). All other songs can be played Boris Williams (1984-1989). He is a very talented drummer who likes to improvise. It's my opinion)

  • Just one of the best songs ever and one of the best Rock band ever!!!

  • You all know this isn't a Cure song right?
