i don't think Jason is a bad drummer. It will just be cool to see one of the original lineups. You know Boris, Perry Bomante, or Roger Odonnell, and perl. That would be really cool to see. I saw them in May of 08 in KC Missouri without a keyboardist but it was still a good show.
...this is The Cure's cover, it states in the description that it's a cover from Joy Division, and that's actually Robert Smith in this video. Sooo the title, video and description are all accurate and make sense. :)
I like him too, because I love all of The Cure, as I've been an obsessed Curewaif since '86. First time I saw them was at the August '86 University of Minnesota campus show- Northrup Auditorium, with my older sister and my best friend. I was 15 then. That single concert changed my musical and artistic life forever! And thats a positive thing. I love The Cure no matter what! I'm one of the one's who is sick and tired to the bone, with all the fake Cure fan on here, who crybaby about Jason.
the cure had a way better drummer in the past. the same guy who invented the drum intro in In between days... the guy who created the percussion in Close to Me, the great intro in Why can't I be You, the superb drum pattern in Last Dance, Closedown, etc.
jason, the drummer, is killing The Cure with all his horrible pre-recorded tapes that run in the background of nowadays Cure concerts.
just hear just like heaven, inbetween days.. totally spoiled by this guy.
Holy shit, does Robert Smith ever look like a scary SOB in this video. He makes the cast of the Twilight Series look like charaters fromseasme street.
It looks like it is actually The Cure in the footage. The only thing I am wondering is : why would a band that successful be playing in such a shitty studio? They look like they were older in this video and would have already made tons of cash. And who is the chick with the tamborine?
It would have to be some pretty far out stuff that she does. The Cure are not the most conventional group of lads. By looking at Robert Smith in this video; I would have to say that I would be afraid to imagine on what his fantasies are.
Jason is by far the most skilled drummer the Cure has had. If you listen to Wild Mood Swings, the fills are so good, but its hard to tell who's playing when because there were like 4 different drummers on that album.
@Devoted2Mariah The song was recorded for a competition for an Australian radio station. Listeners had to come up with a song for the Cure to cover, and if the Cure chose to cover your suggestion, you got to be a part of it. Hence the girl in the corner with the tambourine.
@Devoted2Mariah she looks to be playing the tambourine. and by the smile on her face, i'm guessing she was asked to come over to a friends house only to realize that friend was friends with "The Cure" as well.
your right but andy is soo underated.. The Top had the best timing and the live stuff with andy made robert be able to explore alot better.. now theres this guy.. what a drag..
@JimmyRomantic Jason joined The Cure in 1995 after Boris left. I wrote this in response to someone writing that Jason is 'new' when in fact he has been around longer than any Cure drummer has.
@takerele I think Lol Tolhurst must playing on drumms in dark period (1980-1982). All other songs can be played Boris Williams (1984-1989). He is a very talented drummer who likes to improvise. It's my opinion)
There are some songs that noone should play.
