  • Dude prob. Has it in 4 hi and you can't put the locker on in 4 high only low. The rear isn't looked right now either the rear has limited slip when the locker is not on. He just messed up and didn't read the manual.

  • Whoever said rubicons arnt good in the snow is a fucking retard. It has front and rear lockers!!! If it sux in the snow then you need better tires.

My 05 Rubi will go anywhere in any conditions. The only people who hate on jeeps wish they had a rig that could keep up with a rubicon.

  • Looks like a typical "Heep" to me! It's funny reading the comments of you jeep lovers when someone has anything negative to say about your rig but you "jeepers" flame every other rig on YouTube. It's a 70 year old www2 era underpowered, can't tow anything but a jetski pos!

  • This is a great learning experience. He just got educated on lockers, being hung up, ice traction and the rule check the unknown. Learning from your mistakes does not make you a dumb driver. If he is on ice I doubt the front locker would help. But, having a shovel, traction sand, a high lift jack and something to put under the tires would help.

  • Great thing about a jeep is they are light. Get beside it and start rocking it back and forth....Ive got unstuck many times by doing that. And if that doesnt work trade it in for a overland. They are amazing in snow and ice!

  • ok well if jeeps arent #1 in the snow, what is?

  • its your jeep screw all the negative comments, as long as your having fun screw them!!!

  • That one tire is not turning because it's probably an open diff. If the front locked that would have been no problem. Sorry about the bum luck.

  • I will recap what was already said. OK you don't understand what an open differential is, you don't know your vehicle very well, because the Rubicons have lockers FROM THE FACTORY, and Lacrosseman...don't knock the TJ .. it's probably the best Wrangler platform ever made...

  • Thank you Keithryan1025, you're one of the few that understands. I backed up into a ditch. Couldn't see that it was a ditch because the snow was all level around and on it.

  • @jeffgauthier Ya man it sucks but for just normal snow as long as the undercarriage is not lifted ive found, i have no trouble.

  • I mean your undercarriage is swamped down and the front have no weight and are most likely burnt down to ice mine got stuck in almost in identical situation it sucked as far as like deep snow ive gone through about 10 inches of heavy snow in buffalo ny before and it just bogged through it. But once that undercarriage is off the ground your screwed.

  • dang its hard to find 05-06 jeep wrangler unlimited rubicon. They are rare!

  • why isnt the front locker locked?

  • dumb shit meet dumb idea, yayy!!!

oh fuck itt! i do this too! (cept i dont get stuck) jeep commander babyyy yeaaa

  • dude rubi's are fucking awesome in snow...maybe not the Tj (however i do like the 4.0 over the 3.8) but the JK rubi is awesome...and having it locked does help...alot!...idk whats goin on in this vid...ice....but my brother has a JK rubi and he was pushing so much snow it went over the windshield and on the roof....and he had to back up and go around the pile..he also pulled out a 2500 cummins out of a field when the rubi was on ice so...maybe its the driver

  • yea there is no reason a rubicon couldnt have made it out of that.not using the lockers is a death wish and well those tires are weak...throw some knobs underneath there

  • ok someone is jeeep hating here

    its a fucking rubi

    fucking sad loser

  • Yea, my rear wheels were in a ditch about 4 feet deep. And it was safe to leave in drive, it wasn't going anywhere. Lot's of people have commented that the Rubicon isn't very good in the snow, but it was great on rocks and pretty good in the mud.

  • @jeffgauthier find a car that is good in snow. hahaha. its all in the tires. but even so, not much of a chance.

  • ya...first of all you shouldnt leave it in drive when no one is in the drivers seat...and second of all, facepalm big time for not using your lockers. there was no reason for you to be "stuck" in that little bit of snow in a rubicon.

  • The thing to watch is my ex-wife's comment at the end, "Lets Go!"

  • There is no traction control. But I should have used the electric lockers. I only had the Jeep for a week and later learned how to use it properly. But I don't think having the front and back axles locked would have helped me out of that much snow. Rubicon is best for rock climbing!

  • @jeffgauthier Yep, agreed on that - one year later.. but having lockers really isnt the end-all for snow - Its handy, but it tends to get you stuck in places no other vehicle can normally get to ;) haha

  • @jeffgauthier That one tire you said "wasn't turning", was actually the one getting the most traction. If you had your lockers on, you might have made it.

  • couldnt he just turn traction control off?

  • Funny I asked a questions and get the Thumb-downs on this page.

But I think I now know how this jeep works, He just doen´t use it right.

  • 3WD FTW.

  • That is a rubicon. It has lockers but he does not know how to use them. If he did then the one tire would be moving too.

  • I can out drive you all, give me a go kart, lets do this, did they die?

  • My dad got stuck in the drive way, he slid down a hill and got stuck in 2 feet of snow and its too icy to pull him out! HAHA

  • So Jeeps sells Jeeps which are not real Jeeps...? You need to buy lockers afterwards? Does this Wrangler have only 4WD and no differential-lock then?

I don`t know about this 4wD, I drive another make, I am not going to say which because it always starts a discussion, I am just asking about this Jeep.

  • haha you drive a liberty

  • simple solution... sell the POS wrangler and get a real Jeep, like an XJ, ZJ, or a WJ...my stock WJ wouldnt get stuck in anything like that. and its selec-trac...make that a note. get a jeep with selec-trac!

  • thats why you use 4WD low[lock the axles} so you don't get stuck in the first place. because when you do its a pain the butt to get out.

  • Comment removed

  • put it to low ratio and lock the differential.. geez how dump can you get

  • you spelled DUMB wrong

  • Use your lockers it's a Rubicon, if you dont know how to work your jeep then stay home.

  • 4.o liters won´t help, it is not the lack of power what is the problem

  • @ThePuma1968 no, your right...my 4.0 goes great in the snow...its the POS rock-trac w/ out lockers. my selec-trac would make this jeep feel very insignificant...all stock.

  • crap driver-all he needs is there-sell your jeep and get a pair of decent skies

  • People just don't know how to use the tools built into a vehicle.....Exactly the same here in the UK.

    Happy new year everybody!!

  • "Lets GOO" .... lady, your not going anywhere anytime soon, unless your walking. Get out and start shoveling.

  • should have saved the money he spent on the RUBICON stickers and bought some lockers

  • @thehand58 lol i like your point.

  • "this front tires not turning...hmmm" REALLY??? Its a RUBI !!! LOCKERS !!!

  • if he knew how to actually drive that jeep it would be soo easy to get out of the snow...

  • lock the diffs and turn wheel maybe??

  • that's a peice of crap jeep...

  • need a 4.0 L !!!!!

  • @zxfvxbdfcvfbgcgfdxvs It has a 4.0. he doesn't know how the lockers work. he's a moron.

  • bad driver

  • what rubicon doesnt have a front locker

  • this is just caused by bad driving

  • trail rated ha ha buy a toyota

  • Who was the "smart" one who decided to back into the 2-3 feet high pile of snow?

  • turn the lockers on

  • hey jackass

    1) put your lockers on

    2) dig the wheels out a little and you'll be able to get some momentum nd get right out.

this isn't the car getting stuck it's you being dumbass's

  • @aweltkbs It is funny how the Rubicon comes with the axle lock and hes wondering why the right front tire is not spinning? Hahaha

  • Gottta be some Crazy Jeep person out there that can explain my Part Time 4WD selection in my Grand Cherokee in words i can understand. It has Part Time, Full Time and LO and i know what Full and Lo are for/do. Part Time people..what is it..c'mon but i do know for sure it's not like a AWD something like Quadatrac. It's the Selec-Trac 4WD system PART TIME PART TIME PART TIME..lol

  • only use part time off road it locks the f/r axles at a 50/50 torque split unlike a full time that send power to the wheels that have traction. on full time front can spin faster than rear and vise versa part time the alexs spin at same speed which will bind on pavement and break

  • Yeah i knew what Full Time does..it's the 4WD you would use everyday if needed. The owners manual just didn't explain Part Time very well. I assumed it was a diff lock which is why i never used it (on road) But thanks for the info

  • buy toyota.

  • like a corolla would do better

  • another Rubican't. ;) I see his front diff lock is off(or broke), but I'm not sure that one tire will get him out, he looks hung up pretty solid.

  • Learn to drive your rubi.

  • I live up north and to me,that is not stuck. If you sit there and let your tires make a rut, that's not too smart.Clear the snow from in front of the rear wheels and then start rocking the jeep back and forth going from forward to reverse.Kno48x is right use 4low,that has difloc.

  • I have a 04 Grand Cherokee and it has 3 4WD selections in it, Part Time, Full Time and 4 LO. I have had it for a year now and have many different people telling me different things about the Part Time selection. I read the owners manual and what im gathering from it is the Part Time and front diff lock?

  • Hit up Jeeps Unlimited or Quadratec forums, they can explain your 4wd system pretty clearly. It is not the same as the Wrangler system, but close.

  • Thanks i will do that...i have even gotten different opinons from the Jeep dealerships..so i don't think anyone knows what they are talkin about..haha..but im almost positive Part Time is a Diff Lock because the Rubicon has Part Time in it and that is what PartTime is..i think? All i know is that i love my GC and it's bad ass on the trails stock...lol..espically if i put it in part time

  • Car salesmen rarely know much about cars, which is ironic. They are trained in the lastest selling points and lingo, but often do not have the technical understanding or interest. "Part Time" probably locks the center differential in the transfer case, Wranglers do not have a center differential, they only have 2wd or 4wd "lock", AFAIK. If you have "Quadradrive", you probably also have automatic "lockers" for the front and rear differentials. Some of my "lingo" might be out of date, tho.

  • but cherokee dont have central diff lock.

  • I cant believe not even one person replied about your wife!!!!! You are dead stuck and she wants you to jump in and go!!!!! LOL

  • this happened to me and my friends on the other day. We took a wrong road and got stuck on top of a mountain about 20km for the main road, and any cell phone signles, we had to walk down the mountain and get back to the road. Luckly we got stuck at about 9 am, so we had all day to try and free it. We spent about 3-4 trying to get it out, 2 hours walking off the mountain, 1/2 waiting for some help at the closest gas station, and then about another 3 hours getting it out with help.

  • IT'S A JEEP THING. Don't need to say more.

  • I see nice car and person who even don't know how to drive it.

  • get the shovel lol

  • 3/4 of a moonwalk!!!

  • That Jeep aint stuck, it's purring ready to go, waiting for you to get in! :P It's saying, come one dad, let's roll already!!! lol Only in a Jeep!

  • they don't lock front differential :(

  • Rear doesn't either.

  • thats why jeeps suck

  • Comment removed

  • Where ya from anyway? I live in a suburb of KC, I've been to Tuttle Creek too. Rough and rocky.

  • Good lookin Rubicon nonetheless.

  • lockers dont help in the snow

  • Too late to lock in the front. Never want to spin your tires in the snow.. or sand. Once you do.. it's over with and you'll need a tug.

  • Try dig a deeper hole, you will eventually get out of it (in summer)!!

  • front one tire is not turning because you dont have front locker on

  • OK everyone, I'm the idiot driving (taking the video). I had it for only a week or two and forgot about the lockers. Yes, dana 44's front and back, front and rear lockers. Keep in mind the back half of the Jeep was in a deep ditch. I later got a lot more experience and I don't think locking the axles would have got me out. There is a very nice ORP near me, Manhattan Kansas, and I learned a lot there. Still amazes me the trouble the Jeep had in snow later on, but no one could touch me on rocks.

  • Live and learn. I can almost guarantee anyone who owns a jeep and uses it offroad has been stuck. Opinion are like....well you know. Tread light and God bless.

  • because the one tire was not turning dosent that mean the power should be delivered to it insted of the ones that are slipping??

  • lockers or start rocking. its that simple.

  • Like I said before Jeep owners have to be mental. Need I say more. I won't go into detail about my buddies jeep getting stuck in the road behind me in less than 1 foot of fresh powder. Idiots!!!

  • This is ridiculous a Rubicon should have kicked ass in this kind of condition maybe its the patch of ice the front wheels are on that caused it here.

  • *this one tire is not turning* OK????? It means that YOU HAVE NOT ACTIVATED YOUR LOCKERS STUPID!!!! READ THE FUCKING MANUAL RIGHT WHEN YOU BUY A VEHICLE NEXT TIME. I KNOW I READ MINE.

  • what lockers dumbass? its not standard equipment

  • it is on a Rubicon. it has a pair of Dana 44 axles (that means one in the front and one in the rear) and each one has an air locker. its ok though, theres more slow people like you out there. dont feel so alone.

  • DUMBASS.. IT'S A RUBICON. They ARE standard equip on them models. Do your homework before mouthing off. sheesh..

  • NEED TIRE

  • lock dif

  • front lockers or not that thing isnt going anywhere without a good push some sawdust and kitty litter...

  • Oh... and moparmaster.....you might wanna do some read ups on the Rubicon. It comes from the factory with dana 44s.

  • The rubicon has a front locker, they need to use it. Why would you buy a jeep if you don't know how to operate it???

  • if a driver doesnt know how to drive 4x4 and they get stuck they say its a car problem ,brands of cars make a some difference but the driver makes the real difference.

  • no rubicons only have lockers on the rear beacuse front lockers can and well snap axels on any dana smaller then a 44 seriously man truck me ive blown many axels because i put an eaton locker in my 92 jeep wit a dana 30

  • No offense theemoparmaster, but your fucking retarded. Yes most jeeps only come with one Dana 44 axle on them, the rear one. But rubicons come with two dude, look it up if you don't believe me. And yes they also come with two lockers, front and rear. The idiot driving the jeep in the video obviously had no idea how to engage them... Read before you post next time.

  • Comment removed

  • wow...they're called lockers. You have them so use them assclown

  • hey ur stupid the locker is only on the rear of stock jeeps ause front ones are hard to drive u need some experiance to learn how ot drive them

  • wow.

thats all i have to say.

"hmm one tire is not turning dit-da-dee!"

-note to other people who think they want a jeep: if you get a rubicon, please learn to use it. :(

  • No kidding....hit the lockers and roll. Or how about lo range?

  • I'm sure it would of helped if you took the time to read your OWNERS MANUAL.

  • Dude engage Part time for lockers.......

  • she didnt read the owners manual...

  • woman driver

  • how the hell did you do that numnut

  • you know it would have been smarter to have put it in park rather than let it dig itself deeper

  • why is it that the toyota fj looks like a jeep? Maybe they are trying to say something like, lets take the example of the best there is and try making our own.

  • wow watch the vid Fj getting stuck

  • Wow

I have a 2001 Grand Cherokee Limited with the Quadra Drive. Tires for winter season are Bridgestone Blizzak DM-Z3 Great tires in the snow and Ice. We just had over a foot of snow and between Quadra Drive and tires not a single problem to speak of

  • it will melt eventually

  • the right front tire is not turning, the lockers are not engauged

  • YES. Engage the lockers and you will be surprised how easy it will be to pull out.

  • lol thats the first time ive seen AWD stuck congrats lol..how did u end up getting out

  • ha ha ha

  • Wranglers suck in deep snow like that, they high center very easy.

  • im pretty sure u were just high centered a.k.a fucked

  • nice traction control, it sends the power that has the least traction...

  • He must not known about the locker. But if you are high centered you are out of luck.. tires does no good when not touching the ground.

  • you shoud have grab a shovle and try to dig the back out! the jeep was sinking in the back!

  • Looks like he's high centered. Far as I know Rubicons come with front and rear lockers. Maybe he don't know about the switch?

  • someone needs lockers

  • Somebody got highcentered.=]

  • Someone needs a lift kit and swampers.

  • if he had swampers he couildnt go anywhere swampers suck in snow

  • Wow, are you sure about that? Better tell my Swampers that they are supposed to suck then.

  • yes im sure

  • I think rubicons have front end lockers, (expensive upgrade, worth it though) Did you have that option? Did you engage it? Or am i just wrong and new jeeps dont have this.

  • You have to be in 4lo for them to lock

  • As soon as you spin, the snow turns to ice. So as it sat there slowly spinning, it was polishing the ice. Rubi's are only as good as the person behind the wheel. Learn how to drive and how to use the equipment!

  • that was kinda funny =)!

  • try snow tires people

  • i've been bogged down in mud above the bottoms of the doors numerous times and rock always rock it out. 2003 TJ, 5speed manual.

  • saw one guy say rock the jeep..you CAN NOT DO THAT WITH NEW TRUCKS AND JEEPS! you will destory your tranny in a matter of rocking motions. IT is not like the old days..these trannys are very complicated and though they may be tough..they are not designed to rock back and forth like the old days. You did out,or get someone to pull or push you

  • Thanks everyone. I did not lock either the front or rear lockers. I do now, as I go to an off road park here in Kansas. Yea, had to call a tow, 2 minutes with a winch and I was free. I had backed into a ditch covered by snow. I was sitting on the frame. I don't think locking the wheels would have done it. I don't think any vehicle could have got out of it.

  • what u got?

  • '06 Jetta 2.0T Goes like a bat out of hell, pretty good for a VW

  • Clearly the rear differential is hung up in the snow bank anchoring the jeep in place from a dead stop . Maybe if they rocked it back and forth a bit they would mangae to roll out of this ...And those CRAPPY Goodyear MTR's aren't exactly the sickest tire in deep snow .

  • Lock it! Even a tank can get stuck you no..

  • I have a 03 Grand Cherokee we put it in part time 4wd cuz it "gives" extra traction for snow

  • dude lock the front...what happened..

  • nah.. not every jeep is always 4WD.. it depends on what setup you have.. we have Selec-Track in our 98 GC Jeep, which means we get the following gear ranges: (2WD Full Time, 4 Part Time, 4 Full Time, Neutral, 4-LO).. Personally, i think they should just make every Jeep 4WD, as shifting between gears isn't my favorite sport

  • high centered when he backed over the bank, needs a shovel.

nice jeep! nothing wrong with that jeep.

  • i can't believe a car like this would get stuck in a situation like that - come on its a JEEP WRANGLER RUBICON for god sakes!

  • i high centered my rubbie in some snow... not my best moment in life

  • nice jeep!

  • floor the gas!!!

  • Hmm use the front locker and let air down to 15 psi and you should of been fine but then again you may of done that after this Video who knows.

  • you can't just "use" the front locker...it's either open or a locker, there's no switch.

  • Umm your trying to tell a guy who had a 2004 Jeep Rubicon there is no switch for the front lockers ok. You really need to check one of those bad boys out man. All he needs to do is push the Axle Lock button and he is straight.

  • yea theres definately a switch right there on the dash

  • Yeah, one of the rubicon trademarks is the front and rear air lockers that you can engage and disengage from inside

  • That one tire isn't moving because it's not locked.
