We had three Maltese some years ago-- two females and a male. The male was the most eager to please of the three.He would do his one trick (roll over) 10 times in a row if you asked him. Lately I miss him and play your video to remember how he was. Thanks for posting it.

@robiolin They bark a little bit but its not chiuaua bad just if they see something really big like a christmas tree (make sure hes potty trained before you get him near a christmas tree I have 3 of them my christmas tree smelled like pee and pine)

@jenanda328 Harley is 9lbs!...but he's done growing now since he's 2. I used to give him Angel Eyes for tear stains but now I feed him strickly on Bil-Jac dog food because it's all natural and I heard it's suppose to help with tear stains.

No problem! Well, Frusci I rescued...Harley I bought from a breeder. He cost $400. Toy maltese are more expensive, they can run up to $1000. I wouldn't pay no more than $500...I would check your local shelter too, sometimes they have maltese or malipoo (maltese/poodle) dogs that need homes. Always visit the breeder to see what conditions the dog is living in and make sure they guarantee health for at least a year. Never get one from a puppy mill, pet store, or flee market.

Frusci was the best dog anyone could ask for and I loved him more than anything. No, you can't teach a dog to howl it's just in their instinct. There's toy maltese as well as just your standard maltese. Thanks for thinking Harley is so cute...he's definitely spoiled!

i have a maltese too!!! her name is piper! just a warning about angel eyes, it has hormones in it that could get your dog sick. my grandmas dog got very sick from it and my neighbors husky almost got sick too

We're looking into getting a maltese at the moment - are they typically "yappy" dogs though? We live in an apartment building and a condition of dog ownership is that the dog is fairly quiet. (It's a large apartment with a huge courtyard, incidently. I would never have a dog in a tiny apartment)

i have a maltese and hes really quite he doent bark only when he gets mad thats all.

It depends on the dog. This one barks when you first leave him, then eventually he calms down. They do, however, bark when someone comes to the door!! Harley thinks he's a Pitbull-lol but he NEVER bites.
