  • One of my best.

  • I'm 56 and this is the first I ever heard of The Man doin his own music. Clapton and The Allmans did his tunes an dI loved their vesions .This is simply raw blues ,straight no chaser.

  • the conditions allow Elmore to slip into top gear. Near his peak here.

  • Burns through your heart!

  • bb king is awesome

  • funny I have to sit through some violent video game commercial to see this great song.

  • 2 people dont know good blues..

  • @bukaketsunami actually three ha

  • i love this guy!

  • And now you know where Duane Allman got some of his chops from.

  • @jplew138 how come then i love elmore james and dont like the allman brothers?

  • @figbat1 Probably because Elmore is a true original.

  • I can't stand all the hero worshiping bullshit. Elmore James was a great and inventive blues player. He should recognized as such -- not worshiped like an idol. He'd probably find all this talk about him being a "God" to be disgusting.

  • @bensmith3200 downer.... phhhh

  • Now tell me this joint wouldn't rock any club from L.A to Rockport!

  • Of course I like this! Just like what thejackshack said. By the way it would make great lyrics for a blues song.

  • Elmore's God, the rest of us suck--any questions?

  • Rest In Peace My Friend ..Your Music goes on through The Rolling Stone,Michael Bloomfield,Jimmy Page ,Led zeppelin,Jeff Beck,Brian Jones,Eric Clapton,Paul Butterfield Blues Band .. Cheers To You Elmore you inspired so much great music ..

  • ok one dislike...that's just sad how mad must a man be to dislike this!

Shake Your Money Maker - Elmore James cover

  • bbbbbbbooooooooooooooooooommmmmmmmm

  • Lose the damn commercials.

  • EJ, not bad, not bad...good in fact.

  • Mr..James played a major role in my life as a blues guitarist. I take him everywhere I go, as one of my points of reference. He was the reason I liked Duane Allman so much and why I finally took up slide at an early age.

  • Makes you want to grit your teeth, just go mmmmmmHhhm!

  • This is one of those strong roots rooted deeply inside every great musician.Or should be :)

  • "truly one of the anchor's of blues"

  • Elmore.......he left a fine lineage that if given enough time and effort can be seen here in Chicago.....of course not the same but you can hunt down folks on the west and south side who played with Elmore and are still playing today. Open D for those guitar players who are trying to get the feel of his blues. God bless

  • DYNAMIC MAGIC

  • Robert Plant Sounds like him in some of Zepplin's Songs.

  • @SUNNYRHOADES9 That because Led Zepplin stoled a lot of music. from other people. Even they admit it.

  • Unreal is what this is ....Someone who gets overlooked on slide is Elmore and Rod Price from Foghat ...he was a monster player ...dont you dare think otherwise ..and a prince of a gentleman as well .....

  • 2and 1/2 minutes of pure dynamite

    BOOM!

  • wow, this guy is rockin out before it

was even invented. loved to see what

he could with the instruments there are

now he would rock the rafters

  • just don't get no better'n this.

  • So this is where the allman brothers got this song. This is pretty cool. I like it.

  • Elmore's Bad Ass!!

  • Do you realize what we are hearing here people??? This is it. This is the soul. You simply cannot get deeper.

It's a crying shame that only 18,000 people have listened to this on here.

    Please spread it around!!!

  • @TheJackShack Amen brother, amen.

  • @TheJackShack Absolutely! First heard Elmore 39 years ago and he's still my favorite blues singer. Been posting his tunes on FB often!

  • Thanks for the great post! His music has left a gigantic footprint on rock and roll.

  • He died to young. I wish he could have lived to be 80, makes you wonder what might have came from him in just 10 more yrs.

  • So, this is from whom Woody aka John Mellor aka Joe Strummer was so proud to have learned a riff from. Fantastic!! : )

  • fantastico !!!!! :D

  • the greatest slide player ever.

  • every note he plays is like a piece of his soul...

  • ... hope it's okay, .... respectfully, i added a charlie musselwhite version on harp, just for fun,,, admit it everyone, besides the allman brothers version, this posting is utterly amazing ,,, blessings to the great great elmore james --- outstanding !!!

  • My favorite old time musician. A real talent.

  • I am desperately looking for a song, released somewhere in the early seventies called "elmore james". It seemed to be rather a gospel than blues tune. "Elmore james" was the refrain. Does anyone have an idea?

  • "Elmo James" by Chairmen of the Board

See the video on YouTube here:

    watch?v=CBscAZ9DeC0

  • Classic Chicago Blues by the most tortured blues vocalist of all time. Elmore had a gritty, powerful, gut-wrenching voice that grabs you by the throat!
