Aye'Yo _ BIG Hoooley'...thanks for posting this ROLA' by the Immortal ELMORE JAMES. Bien trabajo' SOUNDS GOOD ON THIS END.... Real music for REAL. Keeping hope alive...
I'm 56 and this is the first I ever heard of The Man doin his own music. Clapton and The Allmans did his tunes an dI loved their vesions .This is simply raw blues ,straight no chaser.
I can't stand all the hero worshiping bullshit. Elmore James was a great and inventive blues player. He should recognized as such -- not worshiped like an idol. He'd probably find all this talk about him being a "God" to be disgusting.
Rest In Peace My Friend ..Your Music goes on through The Rolling Stone,Michael Bloomfield,Jimmy Page ,Led zeppelin,Jeff Beck,Brian Jones,Eric Clapton,Paul Butterfield Blues Band .. Cheers To You Elmore you inspired so much great music ..
Mr..James played a major role in my life as a blues guitarist. I take him everywhere I go, as one of my points of reference. He was the reason I liked Duane Allman so much and why I finally took up slide at an early age.
Elmore.......he left a fine lineage that if given enough time and effort can be seen here in Chicago.....of course not the same but you can hunt down folks on the west and south side who played with Elmore and are still playing today. Open D for those guitar players who are trying to get the feel of his blues. God bless
Sounds a bit like an Allman Brothers Concert...except he had the moves first! Love Elmore James. He sure added a lot to the music which we are still using. Thanks for the posting.
people don,t know that they were hearing, all these song , way back in the 60,s and 70,s by other bands. this is the real blues. from the real people. up date fokes. now you know. happy music.
@RamblnEarl most people just don,t know, where these song come from, they were good back when we didn,t know and even better by the one,s we know. anyway i love both , keep on rockin.

@utubedeletedmy1st You shouldn't mix homosexuals with blacks and women or any other minority it is not the same issue. They should be categorized with groups with mental /morel problems. God never condemned someone for being black or a women but he does for being a homosexual. In revelation it says ...” homosexuals and murders and lyres will have their place in the lake of fire...”
i can hardly believe there are still ignorant black-hating neanderthals like ConfederateKlan. the chickenshit has removed his hateful comments but believe me they are sick.
classic elmore james tune which the allman brothers covered at Live at the Fillmore in 1971, check that album out, one of the best live sets ever recorded, tributes to elmore, t bone walker and others
YES INDEED! The Allman Brother's version was the first time I heard it & so I'm hearing the original for the first time here. BTW, I agree that Allman Brothers @ the Filmore is the best live cd EVER.
Been listening to a lot of Allman Bros. lately, nice to hear where it all came from.Great guitar here too ,love it.God bless music it truely is a joy,in all shapes and forms, frees the spirit
Unreal is what this is ....Someone who gets overlooked on slide is Elmore and Rod Price from Foghat ...he was a monster player ...dont you dare think otherwise ..and a prince of a gentleman as well .....

I am desperately looking for a song, released somewhere in the early seventies called "elmore james". It seemed to be rather a gospel than blues tune. "Elmore james" was the refrain. Does anyone have an idea?
Classic Chicago Blues by the most tortured blues vocalist of all time. Elmore had a gritty, powerful, gut-wrenching voice that grabs you by the throat!
