Usually a bolt action acog yes, you run from building to building using a machine pistol as your secondary, it works good on hardcore on mw3. My normal sniper (which due to tiny mw3 maps gets almost no use) uses a thermal bolt action.

Ah, see, I'm one of the old guard. I used to spam Kar98k in TDMs on CoD 1 maps.

To be honest, I never really minded the semi-auto pistols they force you to use in COD4's secondary armory. The game back then only let you use two primary weapons if you used a perk, and so I got used to split-second flurries with the Desert Eagle/knife.

You're right about the maps, the damn things got smaller and smaller after COD4...which is why it's the ONLY Modern Warfare I play =P

@ROFLMAOJESUS This is cod 4. The MK14 wasn't op in cod 4. It had a lot of recoil and lost tons of accuracy at longer ranges. MW3 is fucked up because the maps are so tiny a toothpick can't fit in them, therefore guns like the mk14 end up overpowered because they have no disadvantage at short range. You misaswell consider sniper rifles overpowered in cod 4 because the maps are so big that you can snipe for real. He was sniping anyways, so what do you expect a sniper to do? Run around?

m14 can take you down in one shot but the m16 it takes 2-3 but you can carry twice as much ammo

And the 5.54 is legal in the civ world. It is a round designed for light skinned animals (deer, humans, zombie, etc). The 5.54 (as all bullets) tumbles when it hits flesh, fragments (if conditions are PERFECT) and then leaves multiple exit wounds. If you really think a deer is going to survive that, its because you hit it in the ass and suck at shooting.

The 7.62 tumbles as well, but doesn't normally get all the way around and takes about 6 in to start tumbling. This means it exits backwards.

As for the US military only going for US made weapons, the new SOCOM weapon is the FN SCAR-L and -H (-L is 5.56, -H is 7.62). FN is Belgium (Fabrique Nationale), but it was designed by a US based branch of FN.

And the M14 has seen a huge resurgence. The 5.56 has to have enough velocity behind it to be effective (fragment), and the M4 honestly doesn't have the barrel to make it effective past 300 meters. The M14 (Mk 14 Mod 0, now) will knock you over and leave a 4 in hole at that range.

You Probably Don't know this But Our Troops are Bringing the M14 Back In Afghanistan as an Assault Rifle Because the M4/M16 Lacks Stopping Power in Mountain Warfare. Go check out ballistics Ft Lbs of energy created by 7.62 Nato (.308) is around 2,600. The Ft Lbs of energy created by 5.56 Nato (.223) is around 1,300.

We (America) switched to the 223 or 5.56 x 45 mm as some like to call it, but 223 is the caliber for a 2 fold reason. 1. You can hold about 2 times the amount of 5.56 ammo (.223) than 7.62 x 52 mm (.308) 2. The .223 is much cheaper to produce using alot less lead. 3. The .223 removes more soldiers from the field with one shot than a .308 typically because someone has to care for the wounded.

But if you did know what you were saying, you would know the M16 was lighter, ammo was lighter, infantry could carry 2 times as much ammo, they also liked to have accuracy. The M14 had a lot of power behind it, which is why they improved it and STILL use the M14, same as they improved the M16, (A1, A2, and A4.) They still use the M14 as a semi auto sniper, the M21.
