I'm sure it's already addressed, but that is NOT the way to decock a DA pistol. Always use the decocker or clear the chamber before manually drop the hammer.

@onyxpilot not all usp pistols have a decocker. If a gun does not have a decocker it is not unsafe to pull the trigger while slowly lowering the hammer while the gun is pointed in a safe direction. That is how you decock a 1911 as well.

thats very true, the only problem is that a hollowpoint expanding bullet looses effectiveness against body armor because it mushrooms over the ballistic plate. a FMJ round is ment to stay together and deforms minimally on impact, penetrating body armor, but doing less damage to a target.

in any event, both bullets will kill, FMJ versus armor, and hollowpoint versus flesh.

Im sure 9mm is fine, and some people love all the extra ammo in a 9mm, but ive been shooting since I was 6 an ive had everything from the 22 to the 500 s&w mag so at this point 9mm feels like 22, its jus no fun to shoot, so for me i gladly give up high cap for doin the job right in 1 shot, an a fun extremley accurate range gun.

I love the ongoing 9mm vs .45 arguement, and I agree the 9mm can definately be effective. I have first hand seen the effects of a 9mm and a .45 against real human beings in real combat and let ther be no mistake the 9mm is quite effective, HOWEVER after seeing the absalutely devastateing effects a controlled pair of +P hydroshock .45 cal rounds to the chest will have on a human being (dead as a doornail in his tracks) I became a firm beliver that in this case, bigger is infact better.

Yeah bigger is better, the problem with 9mm is that even though it might go in and possibly come out of the person the hole is not big enough. That's why most people will get a 45. A person could be dropped by a 9mm and still get up but when they are hit with a 45, not only will the hole be bigger but more air will go into the would causing them to go into shock faster! : )

Personally, I like the 9mm .45 ACP because its one of the most effective pistol cartridges. Anything more pretty much sucks, .50 AE, it packs too much to give a larger recoil, and obstruct the ballistic from accurately hitting the target.

i agree that the 9mm is not a round to be shit on, but the FMJ 9mm pretty much sucks depending on which one you buy. The energy transfer is just not where it should be. It takes more of them to to the same amount of damage as a larger caliber (obviously). shotting gangsta or sideway its quite usefull when you shotting with one hand while on the move cause it absorb recoil will go sideway itstead of upward these technique its difficult to master and was being used long before people start seeing on tv ,there alot taboo of these in law enforcement and military cause doesnt look professional but its been taught usualy pmc and small elite military groups around the world

If you are trying to nail a vertically moving target it's easier to see. But the recoil thing doesn't quite jive. You want gravity to help you with recoil. If you have a heavier gun (1911, CZ, Beretta, Sig, Hi-Power ect.) shooting upright is better IMHO. If you shoot side ways, the gun moves sideways all too easily without gravity's 9.8 m/s^2 pushing against the recoil. And since people are taller than they are wide, it's easier to hit with vertical recoil instead of lateral recoil.
