  • sweet playing and sweet guitar sir

  • sweet guitar

  • This is real Hofner,

The V 3, was the best ever....

Brian Griifiths, of The Big Three, had one,

and that what an electric guitar looks like

  • missed note # 124,236 by a quarter tone shame!

  • Nice post!!I good to listen to, and SHOWS HOW TO DO IT!!., Makes it easier to DIY my own version..this can be a very funny guitar -duet-thing....Maybe with some Duane Eddy twaaaongs ..

I like the way you play it, I find it tasteful and honest, you just play your guitar and you DO NOT FILM YOUR AMP !

    thanx!

  • You play that Hofner like Beck... AWESOME!

Sounds great.. Thru a VOX tube or Fender DeVille???

  • you modified this peace of gold from the 60´s? sounds like a crime to me.

  • yeah man loosy goosy

  • Great job

  • what kind of guitar is that sir?

  • A modified 1962 Hofner V2.

  • Nice tone... and very sweet version overall.

I like the way you play the chords. Fairly loose.

  • Great job! I really enjoyed it! A very unique looking guitar.

  • I really like your version :) Keep it up!

  • I loved it however i didnt like that one part wit the harmonics at all but everything else kicked as great tone

  • sorry but i dont like the sound :)

    it sounds like a toy

  • Very nice tone. What are the mods on the guitar?

  • i ask the same question. that guitar sounds awesome! did u change the pickups?

  • The original neck pick-up died so I replaced it with an EMG humbucker and wired it anti-phase with the other pickup. By adjusting the volume controls you can get a unique tone.

I never liked the bridge which was very difficult to adjust so I fitted an old Gibson Tune-o-matic.

  • Outstanding tone and well-executed brother , you deliver the goods on this tune, one of JB's most unique compositions !

  • Cool!

  • Awesome!... Nice guitar too!

  • amazing.

  • NIce playing!

    what guitar is tht? :)

  • practice?

  • And lots of it - anyone who thinks the guitar is easy is right - but anyone who thinks it's easy to play this well HAS to accept the need for practice, scales, practice, scales, practice .... and listening to oodles of other guitarists. This is lovely playing (I agree about the run at 1.30) and a great sound. Nice one.

  • Nice tone and clean. A lot of guys trying to play this on YouTube are distortion heavy...it's not needed if you can really play. I like the slight rockabilly flavor. The thing that needs cleanup work is the ascending run at 1:30. Groovy.

  • awesome playing and a beautiful guitar ;)

  • I love it!

  • I don't think this is you danarrow playing...

  • Oh yes it is.

  • I sincerely apologize. I thought it was someone else that looks just like you! I can tell you're actually playing...it's just that I thought it was the other person. Good job, none the less!

  • dick....if you know anything, you can surely see it's him playing...

  • It's not that I didn't think this person was playing, I thought it was someone else playing it, and this guy was posing as him...looks like his twin! Really sorry, and great video!!!

  • Sweet Sound!!(^^)

  • Nice song and guitar playing

  • althought the guitar isn't pretty i love the tone and sound it produces...and your playing is good to lol

  • Nice man!!

  • mmm.. nice compression on the tone there :)

  • wonderful

  • wow!

  • Sounds rearly good and nice technique I bought a V2 (same model) brand new around 61 and loved it (couldn't afford a Strat on 7 quid a week)Brings back good memories thanks

  • sounds excellent and what a cool old guitar! it reminds me of a teisco i had when i was a teenager.

  • Great job. I enjoyed your playing very much. Tasty, but not too flashy. Nice technique and I love the guitar.

  • Clean and cool! Thanks!

  • Very very tasty!

  • Wondefull, im learing this song too right now, may I ask where you got the backing track? Could you please pm me the download location?

  • well done m8. its not exactly the same jeff's boogie by beck but who cares? it sounds great and your playing is just as good as beck's. you changed some parts and put em on different place, good job

  • critic

  • Perfect!

  • GREAT job my friend.

  • this is a brilliant video, your playing is spot on and sounds, well, brilliant! could you message me the tab you learnt it from?

  • Thanks for you kind comments. I worked it out myself from Beck's original recording so I don't have the tab.

  • Well Played and absolute brill sound danarrow.

What make and spec are your pickups?

  • Thanks meadow6. The bridge pickup is an original Hofner diamond. The neck pickup is an EMG Select.

  • now that was very, very groovy.

  • COOL GUITAR! I play Höfner myself! And these old axe's are truely worth lookin' for!...

  • very good man! and very nice vintage guitar!

  • can you pass me this back track?

  • porra, muito bacana cara !!

  • Great Job Man!!

  • I can watch this over and over and over! What an awesome job! Lord Darrow ROCKS!!!

  • Great playing and a VERY cool guitar!

  • Great playing man! Ignore knucklehead100, he is obviously a completely talentless dick. Keep the Beck covers coming!

  • makes you want to get up and boogey

  • Thanx Dan for playing Jeff!Me is 58 also and always admired Jeff.

    A 60ies britpop fan.

  • No problem danarrow, i just don't like it when people senselessly criticize other people's works. I find it extremely rude.

  • wow knucklehead how about you quit acting so immature. Please post us a video of you playing soo much better. I mean seriously what kind of hobby is it to bash on someone else's video. Even if it did take him time to get this right, what does that have to do with anything? He posted a video, i'm pretty sure he didn't make any claims before hand stating that this was going to change the world. Take a chill pill dude. Nice video btw, I absolutely love Jeff Beck.

  • Thanks for sticking up for me JeffPagefan. I never said it was live but I recorded it as a single take with no punches. It's a tough piece to get right. There is no video of Jeff playing this and I posted it to show other guitarists how it can be played, even though I know it is only approximate.

  • Pay attention to the very end whare you can see that this is not live, but pre recorded. Leading one to believe that it took this joker 500 punches to get it right.

  • I've played guitar professionally for 20 years, and this is most certainly live

  • great tone.

  • Very very good!

  • VETTY VETTY GOOT!

  • Way to go Man - great stuff

  • Well, who knew how talented you are at playing the 'gee-tar' my friend? Not I. Well done! :o)

  • Thanks for the lesson!

  • Good one, Darrow! Bravo! :-) Alanna Smithee
