  • Before I had my school I taught in a shared space right after Sifu Martello. I only saw him a handful of times but I was very impressed with his vibe and from what little I saw his incredible skill. I always wished I had the chance to pick his brain on some of that amazing footwork I saw him do. so news of his passing was very saddening ot me. Thanks for posting this! • Mike trained well & God called upon his gentle warrior.

  • lamentable perdida de un gran artista marcial, que dios te bendiga y espero que estes junto a los grandes maestros que pasaron por este mundo

  • never knew him....but he have good insight into martial arts...a lost to the community

  • This is a very nice tribute to Mike.

I feel very privileged to have been trained by Mike on two occassions in the UK; and at the same time very sorry that I won't have the chance again.

Words cannot say just how skilled he was as a practitioner and teacher. I found him to be a humble, polite, respectful, and thoroughly nice guy,

His passing is a loss to all but I'm sure his memory lives on in a great many of us.

  • Sweet Clip. R.I.P. Mike. Peace. Say hi to God for me will ya!!

  • I just found out about Master Martello and it saddens me.

    My condolences to the family.

He was one of the few practitioners that truly understood the martial arts and will be greatly missed.

  • we lost a good friend. I realized mike was a rare person who touched the lives of people all over this world. His impact he had on people will never go unnoticed and he will never be forgotten. REST IN PEACE MIKE

  • Cousin Christine just was thinking about Michael & did a current search of his vids as I have been following him & his great love of the martial arts. I am in tears & shock & send my deepest sympathy to Aunt Marie, Linda & Rosemarie. He was so young as my brother was. I just have to believe he was called to the other side to do battle for higher ground. God is calling his soldiers & we have to keep the faith.

  • This is from Michael's mother:

My son Michael Martello was very gifted in his talents. He shared them with many. "To whom much is given, much is required." (Luke Chapter 12, Verse 48).

To all who have comforted me in their tribute to Mike, I owe my deepest thanks.

    Love and Gratitude,

    Mrs. M

  • Thanks Jake for sharing mike with us.

  • What a wonderful tribute! I'm sorry I never got to meet him or his beautiful dog.

  • Sorry to hear this sad news.

Mike had left sincere comments on my movies.

A real Kung Fu artist and a good man.

  • ... My sincere thanks for this beautiful video tribute to my brother Michael Martello. He loved life and he loved his life in Belgium and we loved him. We miss him but we know that his spirit (of love) will live on in all that he did and all who he touched.

My heart goes out to them.

I know the world is a lesser place for it.

  • I'm very sorry to hear this.

It's shocking and a terrible waste.

    My condolences to all.

  • Mike Martello has left this place much too early! But his legacy will live on in the martial arts of his students and in the ideas and inspiration he instilled in people that met him; even in those - like me - that met him only once.

  • With tears in my eyes i watch this video. Thank you for posting this video. Mike opened the way to true martial arts for me. A big loss for the world.

    Farwell my friend and sifu
