My surgeon won't give me an amt of protein required, either. His comment is, "I've never had a patient starve to death." I just don't think that is an adequate answer.

I was told no carbinated or caffeinated drinks, too. I drink caffein daily. It is nice to know about the calcium thing. I didn't know.

Yeah, my program never talks about protein grams. The thing is they get so defensive about it, it's hard to even have a discussion about it. And I know there are people using protein supplements even though they are strongly against it.

I told my surgeon that and he said that was the best mantra he ever heard for bypass. Afterall, this pouch will take care of me as long as I take care of it.

WOW u look great girl! I have a friend who posted her bigger clothes on ebay, sold them and used that money to help buy new ones. on paypal if u change ur account to private business (something like that) u can get a paypal debit card (i have one n its great!)so that when u sell ur old clothes n the money is in paypal u can use ur debit card to go shop for the new ones. It comes in pretty handy!

MJ, you are looking FANTASTIC! What an incredible difference in your two pics! I don't know if this would help with the fluid intake, but my nutritionist said that I could shorten the waiting window between drinking and eating to 15 minutes (tho still waiting on the other side the full half hour to an hour). It makes a HUGE difference for me. What size jeans are you looking for, lady? I'd be happy to send you a pair, if it might help.

15 minutes, it's done. The other day I drank two cups of tea about 5-10 minutes before I ate (out to dinner) and nothing horrible happened. It was so nice to get so much more fluid in. Thanks for offering your jeans up, I'm in a 26 now (which is just crazy), I wear tall jeans though.

Thanks Lori. They didn't give any suggestions, which was disappointing. They just said, well you have to get it in. I'm thinking of trying to make myself drink 8-16 ounces before I can eat a meal. I don't know how well that will work especially with waiting a half an hour after drinking to eat.
