  • Clean, nice job.

  • B.S. slapping :-D LOOOOOOL

  • This isnt even good

  • 13 people dont have fingers

  • sorry guys, but this is just senseless, annoying noise. definetly not very musical

  • @CptChaos88 I'll have to go with you on this one. He does better on alot of other videos I've seen.

  • @Ulysses447

i know. he is definetly a good (one of the best) player. but this here is just nothing for me.

  • wish i could have 1% of his technique... :(

  • Showing his handlove technique at 06:50

  • alot of his licks are very bla but he is very talented

  • People that don't get this are just not meant to appreciate and comprehend it.

  • amazing billy sheehan

  • sick!

  • so many diffenrent techniques :O

  • 9 people are deaf and blind.

  • ehh hes a little more than FREAKING AMAZING

  • It still freaks me out to see him play this fast ,

I been a fan since Talas days - no backing off at all

    Phenomenal !!!!

  • WOW, he's only gotten better as time goes by :-)

  • 0:47 mike rowe from dirty jobs...

  • @penk0 definitely you get a thumbs up from me buddy

  • He just kicked my ass with his bass for nine and a half minutes and I loved it.

  • talk about depressing....he does shit with one hand I cant even do with two......thank god I have arthritis and cant play anymore...........Billy Sheehan rules!!!!

  • insane technique

  • so many comments of I CAN DO THAT, THAT'S EASY.. oh please, post your videos please, so that we may see how well you truly are

  • holey^ shat%

  • God he sounds like shit if he isn't distorted to hell

  • Billy's band Talas was such an incredible metal band. I miss that kind of playing.

  • He's only doing fast improvisation, even I can do that shit and in the meantime I can flirt with the most breasted woman in the public.

  • His tone is unmistakable imo. Unique...I think the meat in his hands have the most impact on his sound. Sounds like the neck is VERY straight. Gives a nice sustain that is not available on a concave fingerboard. That plus the maple. 5:08-ish is b*tching!

  • WOW, thats f'n amazing. I think he hits every note on the neck before he's done a couple hundred times.

  • I think the tone's for definition. He probably changes tone to suit the music.

Its easier for us to hear the many different notes when played with a little more treble.

  • I prefer Tony Levin

  • Oh so THAT'S why you clicked on a Sheehan link...

  • I like you so much Billy.

    You are amazing.

    Perfect!

  • you call that blues Billy? lol

  • myspacceer it is called the blues because when Billy plays, we all feel sad that we suck...lol

  • @diamonddust22 im glad im not the only one that feels that way

  • @SINSARMY lol

  • he's amazing but i cant stand his tone......still one of my favorite bass players tho.

  • money money money!!! thats why guys sound like this and not true geniuses

  • music is a subjective art form and everyone has different tastes, you can't go hating on this or billy just because it's not 'your cup of tea'.

  • When Neil Peart from Rush does a solo and no-one can sing along as it's an expression of what he's capable of doing does that mean he's crap? Solo's of any kind are a kind of divulgence fair enough but this guy is anything but brilliant at what he does.

  • my name is mud

  • not to be confused with bill or jack or pete or dennis...

  • soloing and playing the bass notes in a band are two different things.

  • eusebioxxy, it's too bad you feel nothing. I feel inspired/challenged by what can be achieved on a 4 string electric bass. He was changing keys between techniques, none of it seemed atonal. It wasn't a song, but an introduction of his style of unaccompanied solo to the clinic goers. Hence the title "Intro Bass Solo". The legato stuff at 5:05 and the arpeggios at 5:50 are sweet. His right hand picking and the raking stuff he does is phenomenal.

  • This guy is awesome what are you fools chatting about

  • fuck you I like it

  • Worst music taste in history, at least we can all agree you're some king of turd trying to understand what music's about

Take a tepid bath, drink your milk, go to bed and forget this, it's just to much for you

    See ya, Cheers!! ;)

  • When you can do that, then get really famous, then, but only then, you can say that.

  • aww, what, angry because what he's doing on bass you wish you could do on guitar? diaf

  • two note haha!

  • MY Master

  • Ah, playing a Lava Red Attitude II for a change eh Billy? LOL!

But anyone calling this guy crap and saying he plays the same shit since '83...Musta lived under a rock or some shit.

Go check out Niacin for one...I mean it, put it in vid search RIGHT NOW and LEARN SOMETHING!

  • mill estrellasª!

  • man you play too MUCH! not cool at all

  • Jakby sobie sam pytę obciągnął, byłby lepszy show.

    SUCK.

  • And for you Sheehan fans out there, I just bought the Yamaha Attitude LTD in Lava Red and it is the most amazing sounding bass ever! Beware however, the neck is THE fatest and widest 4 string neck I've played EVER.

I highly recommend this powerhouse of a bass guitar.

  • Let's not get carried away -- first of all why should Billy change his style? Afterall, a style of play is a person's SIGNATURE. Secondly this is not meant to be anything other than a showcase by a someone who changed how bass is both played and perceived. And third [no pun], the three finger attack is not "cheating" it's merely a matter of choice. As a three finger player I can attest to how much work it requires. In the end, all that matter's is what the musician says, not how they say it.

  • Don't get me wrong. I like billy. I just thyink there is a time to start doing new stuff. You gotta admit. There is a period he just wanks off. We can all wank off. Also. The three finger thing is awesome. It changed my style for the better. But like I said. He has been playing the same crap for a long time. Even Joe and Steve comes up with new stuff..

  • I think some of the stuff Billy is doing now [both with Niacin and his solo records] is truly fresh for him while retaining his signature style. "guitar hero" players who have been around for a while -- have a style; a voice if you will. And it doesn't change.

Billy, despite his soloing ability is truly a SUPPORT player [even he will admit this]. Your comparing him to Joe and Steve is counter-intuitive. Those are solo artists who are able to stand alone.

  • When it comes right down to it, creativity will always eventually lose to longevity. By this I mean the longer an artist stays in the public eye, the more their style begins to sound like a cliche. As an example, Jaco Pastorius began as a very fresh and inspiration bass guitarist -- but his biggest fear was sounding like a rehash. And honestly, near the end of his life, his music WAS predictable. It's just the nature of the beast. It doesn't make either of them any less of a genius however.

  • Nozzmo, you say Billy has been playing the same crap since 83? If you had any kind of developed ear you'd hear the evolution he has made. Billy is first and formost a great bass player, and songwriter. Let me ask you, how is your technique coming along? Or do you sound like a clone clown with that farty percussive nonsense? Get a life and look in the mirror before you ever pass judgement on a bass legend like Billy.

  • Yeah ithree fingers is cheating, if your playing country or gospel music. When you start getting royalty's from 3 different bands for one song(Shyboy), all three of those albums selling millions and still selling, then you can talk shit. until then good luck playing with yourself.

  • I use three fingers on bass, so I am a cheater, I think not, it depends on what you want to do with the instrument.

  • I was being sarcastic to the guy who said three fingers is cheating. hence the gospel or country remark.

  • hell i use all four, read the whole comment again.

  • how the heck is that cheating? (unless you say you're cheating yourself)

  • The only thing great about his playing is his tone. His tone is so growly and mean!!!!!!

  • Było niesamowicie! Najlepszy wieczór w historii FBC albo jeden z najlepszych:) Obok Scotta Hendersona;)

  • this is exactly what he did in sydney yesterday. billy is awesome (:

  • Yeeeeaaaahhhh :) Byłem, widziałem, słyszałem... oby częściej takie perełki w tym miejscu. Pozdrawiam ...PM ;)
