Tango "Scrivimi" - (2/3) in Russian, Izabella Yurieva

..hаppened to listen Izabella Yurieva many times..

Her deep..melodic voice can't leave anybody indifferent..:-)

And I was surprised to read a short article (Wiki) that she was Jewish from a Jewish family (Livikov).Another article with more information doesn't mention it at all..:-)

Somebody may say : So what..?...Big deal !

And yet...it is a big deal !

This is going to sound odd, but do not be offended - I read in a book about Lee Oswald and Marina, that they danced tangos, cha chas, and sambas in his Minsk apt. after meeting - I recall the word "Scrivimi" either in that section, OR at the wedding celebration and wondered what it meant - is this word particular to a dance, place, person? Is it a proper name? Is little Lee somehow evoked in association with this piece?  I like it, thank you for posting.

Scrivimi - means in Italian language: Write to me ! - for instance a letter. And about it is this song. And in this way this title/word should be cenceived.

allegroconmoto podał włoski tekst tego tanga. Ta powtarzająca się fraza: Napisz mi! Napisz mi! i końcowa, kiedy już jest zrezygnowany (On) .. se sei felice.. jest świetna. Ale przyznaję drugie miejsce rosyjskiej wersji. Chociaż ten głos Tino Rossiego.. trudno wybrać, tylko słuchać. G.

I must admit I'm much more taken over by this passionate, poignant Russian version than Rossi's. Although I don't understand a thing of the lyrics Yurieva tells such a heartbreaking story here it's almost upsetting: a truly grand interpretation.

She, as other Russian artists, used what was most important in their style: voice and feeling. Listening to this tango we still can hear a Russian romance...;-)

Thanks. I would add to what I replied to Genia; that that "common note" in Russian singing may be found - regarding all differences - also in "black voices". They have their 'common note' too, which I can trace immediately.

This is a present for me, Jurek. I didn't know that this is not russian tango, but italian. I know that russian text to this tango re written by husband of Izabella Yurieva - Iosif Epshtein (Arkadjev). She herself told me haw it was: "he was sitting at the piano and something wrote on a sheet of paper. What are you doing? - i asked him. He answerd: don't disturb me, Punchik (it was her home nickname), I am writing verbs". As the result - you can hear this tango in Yurjeva's interpritation.

Such a glorious tango and the Russian lyrics add to the beauty of this haunting melody. Ms Yurieva has a beautiful voice and sings with such intensity, one cannot help but be moved emotionally.

This is so typical for Russians, that "poingnant" (sometimes sharp) note in their soulful singing; they do it always with heart.
