I think the Islanders will stay in Long Island. They have a pretty good fanbase and I can see a similar thing happening with the Islanders as with the Penguins. I'm not an Islanders fan but I'm pulling for them.

how is everyone overrating him since 2005 the kids had more points then games hes played in most seasons his points triple how many games hes played in and his first NHL game he gets a goal and an assist the kids 19 years old and a flat out outstanding player

woah. i said everyones overrating him, comparing him to crosby and malkin and ovie. u cant do that let the kid make a name for himself. yeah hes fucking great player, but you cant set standards too high. you have to let him do his thing. if you set supe high goals for him, its just gonna hamper his development and thatd be a terrible waste of his talent. okposo's a beast

after the intermission i waited for a tv time out to go to the bathroom. all of a sudden while i was taking a wizz i hear the goal buzzer go off. dam i missed a goal i thought, then someone in the hallway yelled John taveres scored. Holy shit was i pissed (no pun intended). He gets his first NHL goal and im in the bathroom, just my luck. I agree with brichards415 okposo had some sick moves comming off the concusion.

I think he is going to smash the Crosby hype and totally outshine Crosby this year even. Malkin i'm not so sure of. Malkin is way better than everyone gives him credit. Better than Sid. Ovechkin is better than both MAYBE..... Crosby for sure, but Malkin is the MVP of that Pens team. Tavares is going to be in that mix though. You can count on that.

Just to let u no Crosby has 400 career points in 5seasons really 4 seasons bc he was injured for the most part of the 07 08 season and ur telling us that after one goal Tavares is going to outshine Crosby... btw Crosby was the youngest captain in nhl history,,, and is the youngest captain ever to win the cup... but sure i guess since Tavares scored a nice goal by default hes better than Crosby?

I think Tavares will be up there with Crosby, Malkin and Ovechkin. I'm not basing that on just that game though. He has alot of potential, I've seen him play in junior aswell and he is just a great hockey player. I hope he has a great rookie season

wow... i'm a Wings fan, but Tavares is going to be really good... we were supposed to get a show last season from a hyped rookie like Stamkos... but that wasn't much of a rookie season, and now we have the start of a show from Tavares... good shot.

oh i know, he heated up nicely at the end :) i did notice that, but he was hyped so much that he let us down badly... kinda like Joe Thornton did his rookie season. Thornton had 55 games and had just 7 points! Compared to that Stamkos was amazing lol... but look at Joe now he is a GREAT hockey player and i think Stamkos will be as well.
