  • "The idea is quite simple - let a child learn mathematics by speaking in mathematics about things that really matter to him. ... the child can make the computer do anything that he can describe in a suitable mathematical language." I'm hooked! Thanks for posting this!

  • A precious video for the history of the introduction of computer in children's learning and a tribute to Papert as a great innovator. Looking back to the machines of that time and the iPads and notebooks of today, a big evolution took place, it's a pity that the learning strategies of constructivism have not spread at the same rhythm.

  • The ability to “read” a medium means you can access materials and tools created by others. The ability to “write”

in a medium means you can generate materials and tools for others. You must have both to be literate. In print

writing, the tools you generate are rhetorical; they demonstrate and convince. In computer writing, the tools you

generate are processes; they simulate and decide.__Alan Kay

  • Wow!

  • My husband worked with kindergarten children and Logo years ago using Papert's ideas. Wow. The ideas are still current; even more so with education changing so rapidly.

  • Thanks for uploading!
