I'm German. Here's the low-down on the whole German=Nazi situation. First off Rammstein are not nazis. Calling them communists would make more sense, they all grew up in East-Germany (DDR). Germans dispise nationalsocialism ever since what happened. We're so anti-nazi/patriotic that we don't even sing our national anthem at such events as soccer games and stuff. I doubt that there is a nation in the world that is more anti-nazi than Germany. Americans are more nazi-orientated than us.

There are probably more Nazis in countries such Spain, England or even my Portugal than in Germany. For example, in Germany, it's FORBIDDEN to have any Nazi symbol in flags, clothes, games, films etc. Many films and game are forbidden for the simple fact that it has a symbol of the Nazi Germany on it.

i actually cant choose between this and the studio version cuz both were so well done.
you could feel the intensity of the lyrics and emotion in both the live and studio version, but you could feel it more in the live version.
the live version's vocals were in A shape too.
i just cant choose between them, but this is an amazing live performance and if i ever get the chance to see them live, i'm definately gonna take it.

I love this band, and this song! 5 stars out of 5! I think it's not difficult to think of nazis when you see the singer and his steel helmet haircut ;) but if you understand german then you'll know that they aren't(as an example, before german class I thought Rein Raus and Links 2 3 4 were a nazi song because of the way they sound.. now I know better)

For all the pompousness of their music, their lyrics consist, at best, of idle, pretentious gibberish. Their popularity in non-German speaking countries mainly stems from the fact that people don`t understand what their songs are about. If you want to listen to truly innovative music from Germany, check out the German art rock ("krautrock")combos of the early seventies.

No they're not neo nazis. Someone has taken the beat and music from Sonne and added some lyrics that have spread across the net that have neo nazi sayings, but they did not sing that. I saw the "joint" too, but I think it's just a cig.

for example in the song "mein teil" they sing about a guy who ate anothers dick in germany some years ago, but they never actually mention it in the lyrics
