I'm struggling with the "good people make bad decisions" concept. People are so quick to argue that he didn't intend to injure the guy. When you choke somebody to the point of passing out and then drop their head on a tile floor, you're responsible for the results. Furthermore, that defines you (at least at that moment) as a 'bad' person. His inability to act rationally in an impromptu conflict makes him a danger to society. The jury did their job. What's a fair sentence?
I am glad homecoming was shut down and I'm glad this weekend wasn't like the last five before it. I cannot tell you how many times I saw situations during homecoming that so easily could have turned out like this one. People who live here have been afraid to go out on that weekend or to work outside on the streets around the university at times. Good job Kingston police and those who came in here to help out!!!

The biggest critisim of MMA for me is all these people that watch these events on television or go to shows think there instantly experts on some of the grappling techniqes that they see. Choke holds are very dangerous. Thats why alot of police organizations have forbidden there officers from using them. This particular hold that this dumb ass is appliying can kill someone in under 15 seconds.

I heard about this and didn't think it was true. But kudos to Kingston Police Force for using new media/web 2.0 tools! I'm posting this to my facebook profile to see if anyone knows anything.
