umm actually its much cheaper with the recipe. sodium acetate is basically a mixture of baking soda and vinegar and is easily made. and sodium bicarbonate is just baking soda. you probably wouldn't even need to spend any money.

It's sad how stupid the people are that comment on this video. Gnat is right while so many of you use his poor spelling as an excuse to discredit his video. Those water marbles are incredibly hydrophillic. They absorb water and expand in size, this gives them interesting properties, including a similar refractive index to water. This is why you can't see them when they're submerged. Everyone is being tricked by the original videos, thats why its not reproducable for anyone.

Have a quick look at the Slippery Sphere manufacturer's Classroom Kit pdf, which states in language even children can understand that the spheres are polymers which absorb water (Google 'what are slippery spheres made of' and click the first link). There's no way mixing a bunch of powders together will cause the phenomenon shown in the fake, so I wouldn't waste my time even trying it!
