The Last Remnant - GP08 "Quest: The Ancient War" (P03/03)

oh so this is y i kept on losing i started this side quest way to early D:

I beat this guy at BR 37.

First you have to get either 'Batwing' or 'Vanguard' formation (Batwing from 'Wisdom's Echo' quest, Vanguard from 'the Hero' quest), so you won't fight him in boss mode (his HP would show).

Second, to avoid his vulcanbreath, all you have to do is keeping his morale low; he would use desperate wail instead. And after that you could always lower his morale again, and so on.

I used Bluff to lower his morale (psionics branch of mystic art), Jorgen (sage) is capable of learning this.

And each union should at least one unit capable of healing.

Plus I think the formation makes it easier to dodge the Deathly Fang...

Well, that's just the strategy I used... *shrugs*

Damned union ressed the wrong guys, then got critted :D

Trying again tonight maybe. Then again ive only got 1.6k, 1.7k and 0.6k hp unions lol

i JUST finished him at BR 24... it was epic!

The strategy is that when you think he is about to use vulcanbreath... you get the union with the most hp left, and use the "regain hp" (the one that does NOT make you leave deadlock), and make the other 2 unions leave deadlock in order to heal. That way, only one union can get KO'd, and the other two will be safe... hope this helps!

when i reach him at BR16.. i got beaten in less than 10 round with its 1-hit-KO attack..

You can paralyze him to seal his Deathly Fang attack. I don't know if he can still use Vulcanbreath. I fought him at BR 50 and all he ever did was Deathly Fang and occasional regular attacks. Maybe it has something to do with rank? I remember fighting him at a much lower rank [lost of course] and he spammed that vulcanbreath like no tomorrow.

My BR is 47 and i still cannot kill this guy. I mean i tried ALOT and i still cant kill the dam thing... I get him down to about 15k health then he uses vulcanbreath. Any help/suggestions?

I lost against this guy. Everything was good, I had blackout 2 times in a row and my units dodged also a few deathly fangs. Then he was in danger and I needed just 1 more turn and I would probably kill him. Then he attacked me and after the attack he used Vulcanbreath and it was an instant kill. I was getting crazy, cuz I needed probably one more turn. My BR is 39

iv gotten him to about half hp using 2 unions with rush and david as leaders but after the half way point i got nothing but volcanic breath.. takes both unions out in pretty much 1 hit :/ ima train a lil more... any place u perfer?

why do you use david? Torgal and Baulson are inherently better and then caedmon and emma typically come out better than david too...all david has is ex machina

Torgal is power-based and Baulson is nearly the same. The thing is with David is that not only does he have Ex Machina, he can also use the Gae Bolg. He's also a fairly decent spell caster.

I'm at BR 35 and he uses the fire move on me every single turn so far without fail. I'm actually following this exact strategy, it's just not doing a lot when he kills me really quickly. I may need to go level up or something.

i got him to less than 25% hp at 22 battle rank on first time, but i lost lol

I managed too do this earlier battle rank 37 or something like that,i changed my members around a bit and did it pretty easily i must admit or maybe it was luck as he only used that fire move once !
