  • People can join nonviolent organizations that research to peacefully expose people and organizations who benefit from all forms of injustices.

Do you elected officials represent you or people who donate to them? Write them letters to find out. If they respond in a manner that you disagree, you can organize to have recall elections or vote them out.

  • Legalize prostitution....and make the whores pay tax on their incum..

  • @JesusPaid4You haha good one

  • What about cutting taxes?

  • As we allow republicans to slowly tax and fee our countries most impoverished people we'll see another series of national riots and this time it won't be about race, it will be about survival. The republicans can't build enough gated communities to protect themselves from starving masses.

  • @rustysimpson1 Serious? You think the Repubs are responsible for taxing & fee-ing the most impoverished in our country? That's a laugh. What a joke. A sad joke.

  • If I wanted to take over this country, I would: keep people ignorant so that they won't see what I'm doing; keep people poor so that they'll do whatever I say at whatever I'll pay; make sure that when they're "used up" they become someone else's problem; entertain them with crap instead of inform them; create reasons (such as bailouts) to continue taking money out of the pockets of the people for me and my cronies; create a political circus (think professional wrestling). Sound familiar?

  • While I see the corporate point of view, namely that of exporting jobs to lower paid people, keeping US unemployment high, eliminating collective bargaining and keeping US wages low, I see the ultimate end: American workers so desperate for jobs that they'll do any work for any wages, no matter how crappy, because any job is better than no job.

While that scenario may appear to be good for corporate bottom lines, it spells disaster for American workers.

  • Before wasting our time with a futile fight against the elite in regaining jobs, we should pass a law where no Government employee should be able to accept money from lobbyists. And anyone caught giving bribe or taking bribes in Government should be convicted of High Treason. The peoples vote is what should count, not the money that buys it.

  • Most leading economists say the republican budget cutting plan will cost us at least 700,000.

I sure hope we create a few more jobs for Democrats in Congress and Senate in the next two years, those are the Jobs I would like to see.

    Sincerely...

    Michael

  • This is just so typical of the GOP and the numb brained right wing.. Cut Education as America slides down the list of nations.. Cut Healthcare.. as we bankrupt our good people with medical bills that the insurance industry won't approve.. Cut job training (like we see here) while unemployment skyrockets.. BUT.. The Defense Budget? Wars? Nahhh.. we can't cut there.. While we outspend all other nations combined.. AND NO SOVIET THREAT ANYMORE.. Stupid & Crazy Stuff

  • I empathize with the honest company paying taxes and keeping employent in the US that are being taken advantage but Why are you not looking at the corps. making it so hard for the rest? Ones who don’t pay tax, instead benefit off taxes paid by you and I. Instead they use PO box #’s in other countries claiming residense so they can hide $ in swiss banks. Big corps. & corrupt gov. are useing average americans, as scap goats. Why are we fighting each other instead of the crooks?

  • Explain to me why the corp. tax breaks are being striped of the backs of the people who teach children, clean streets, feed the poor, put out fires save lives and protect people. Their the wind beneath your wings, we purchase your products. Why we are being beat down to the point of having to tighten pocket books & tell our children college might not be option. We watch our finances dwindle down by 5-$10,000 & we cant sleep at night cause we wonder if we’ll still have a job next week.

  • @schnheather256 It is to remove all social safety nets from the work force, no raises no benefits part-time low wage jobs with no bargaining tools. The elite scum want a beaten down workforce, and with the economyTHEY created, workers will take any morsel no matter how crappy. Lets not forget all the illegals: a steady flow of cheap and grateful workers. The perfect storm.

  • The biggest joke is the republicans, although both parties are in office to serve themselves and those who put them in office.

Teaparty members are squirming and refuse to answer why a number of them take hundreds of thousands of dollars each year in farm subsidies from the government.

These people cried 'death panels' when the president said he wanted health care for all and yet we see Jan Brewer refusing to help those in need of transplants in Arizona. Which party is more vicious?

  • Who signed the free trade agreement which sent all the jobs to China? Who warned us of the "sucking sound"? How you compete with workers who make $1500/YEAR? The plan to destroy the USA and create a one world government is working.

  • Each of us commenting here cares enough to say something and what we have to say expresses our values and priorities. People before wealth or wealth before people.

I believe that people that have learned the peace joy and happiness that comes from paying higher taxes to share what we have with others will fair better during difficult times.

  • Tax breaks to the very rich and to corporations do not create jobs, for Pete's sake! How much longer do we have to suffer under this ideological scam? Any politician who claims that drastically reducing the national deficit is important and who also voted to keep the Bush tax cuts to the wealthy is a hypocrite.

  • well, well, well, how do people like the tea party conservative idiots now? and how do the american people feel about voting the republicans in and squeezing obama and the democrats out? you stupid fucking morons the republicans dont give a shite about the people at all they are only interested in securing the intrests of the financial elite namely the very wealthy and corporations who support the republicans with billions of campaign dollars.

  • @doctorw2 Oh Boy, you said that just right and to the point!!! Love it!

  • These Republican bastards are running the Country in the ground.

They would rather serve corporate bankers interest and burn down the Country than to serve the people.

I hope all that voted for these thieving bastards lose your jobs to out sourcing which Reagan started then pull your brain out of your azz before its to late for your children.

These Tea baggers are the same no teeth and low education group we saw burning cross's in the 50's and 60's.

  • It's not Congresses job to "create jobs". It's governments job to get out of the way so entrepreneurs can launch their business ideas quickly. Besides creating jobs, it creates REAL growth as the newly employed exorcises their new found purchasing power, and it didn't drain purchasing power from other people through taxation, which is a huge burden to all of us. No, government needs to cu back, just like most sane people have cut back during these tough times. In this, government seems un-sane.

  • Business owners need to take responsibility for the over bloated paychecks of CEOs and make sure workers are payed what they deserve. That would also help the economy.

  • The people are on to the tricks of wealthy and selfish investors. You only care about yourselves. You are hypocrites. You will answer to this some day.

  • Demand creates jobs. When people have good paying jobs the money goes back into the economy. Tax ;breaks to the very rich and corporations does not create jobs, look at the the past 10 years. Tax breaks didn't work. Trickle down economics has been proven to be voodoo economics.

Bring American jobs home and change our trade policy now.

    Yes Vote No on HR.1

    L.F. Illinois

  • Republicans aren’t interested in the recovery, or any recovery...they’re interested in staying in power and pandering to the loud ones and the moneyed ones.

The missing component for Republicans is simple. Empathy. They have none. In fact, I’d go so far as to say they’re prejudiced against people who work for a living, and definitely against people who struggle financially.

HR 1, Walker in WI, Kasich, Scott, etc. If it ain’t clear by now, folks, we’re in deep trouble. VOTE DEM 2012

  • @demmmmm1 Republicans go beyond lack of empathy. What they've got is lack of common sense. They're destroying the American middle class to hold power for a few people. When you do that, the innovation, creativity and productiveness that make for a world leader come to an end. This is already happening. They're selling out our tomorrows for the sake of a few people today. They're setting up America for a fall.

  • @cpuwrite Yes. That lack of common sense can be found in Tea Party member statements like, “Get your government hands off my Medicare!”

And you’re right. They’re essentially serving a couple thousand people - that’s basically it. Keep the Koch Brothers in the money today so your kids can die of cancer tomorrow. Insane.

  • @demmmmm1 Considering it was the dems that controlled the senate before the republicns gained it back. just remember this its the dems fault we are in this recession and who gave all those companies bailout money thats right the dem controlled senate at the time. which is funny that every one of those companies either fell through or used that bailout money to send their CEOs on vacation

  • @noah2711 This recession is the result of GW’s unpaid for tax cuts, unpaid for wars, unpaid for prescription drug program, the constant deregulation of financial markets, and the housing bubble that ballooned under GW’s watch. This recession has nothing to do with Obama’s policies. He prevented a depression, and we’ve been slowly growing since. When GW was in office, we were losing 750,000 jobs/month. Now, we’re gaining 200,000 per month. Slow, but the right direction.

  • @demmmmm1 while Obama is not the best everything you said was spot on. Bush did indeed fuck up.

  • @demmmmm1 they are just interested in wrecking Obama and the guy cannot even see it. Raise income taxes on the rich and force them to reinvest the money into business.

Why would they cut taxes for rich people if they cared about the deficit. I am tired of Barack. I think he needs a primary challenger

  • @jopaddy81 It’s amazing, isn’t it? I mean, it’s not as though he started a torture program or anything, like GW & Cheney did. Every time they open their mouths, they’re spouting all kinds of garbage that either have nothing to do with policy, or nothing to do with facts.

Thankfully, Republicans have no overstepped in D.C. and all over the country and people are waking up. 2012 should be very interesting!
