Hi Mark, I loved this song because of my Police Officer background I saw way too much abuse in families. I think she won the grammy for best new artist that year or at least she was nominated (possibly the song was up for song of the year as well). A totally cool song. Love your performance !

Hey Mark you must have read my mind because I was thinking about emailing you to see if you'd mind if I did that. I don't like to cover someone else's cover unless a good period of time has elapsed, out of respect for their performance. I don't like any comparisons because everybody interprets a song their own way. I'll give it a few more weeks and maybe take a shot at it if you don't care.

Well, I'm not a lady and I love the song and wouldn't mind learning to sing it as well. I remember when the song came out in '87. I was only a kid then, and my best friend and I would actually make fun of the song when it came on because of the name "Luka."
