When the ENGLISH language "talks" of RELIGION- my default "assumption" is the Religion called CHRIDTIANITY b/c Buddism is not a religion but a philosophy of life & Islam is not a religion in the "english" sense but a "Way Of Life" & Hinduism is an "ancient way of life" & NOT a religion in the "english" sense.
There is ONLY one "religion" & it is in the BIBLE & it is named "christianity". So KEEP AWAY from other "cultures" like Buddism, Hinduism, & Islam. Thank you.

Is it proper to rejoice over a person's death? Absolutely, if the world is a better place because of their passing. Falwell was a vile man, who peddled fear and lies under the guise of christianity. A Tartuffe passing the plate for hate. I was always curious about his obsession over homosexuality. It seemed he never passed up an opportunity to discuss it. The straight men I know, who are truly comfortable with their sexuality, don't obsess over gays the way Falwell did.
He was not a vile man. Obviously like ive said..ya'l just kno the guy the media portrayed. Didnt kno who he truely was at heart. Us here at Liberty Saw the real him. He didnt obsess w/homosexuallity...he just stood up for what he believed and well that would be Gods word and the Bible says homosexuality is wrong. Yeah he sinned. no one is perfect. but as christians we recognize our sins and try to change.
yeah, carte blanche to do whatever you want then ask a fictional character for forgiveness... Grow up, go to a real university and take responsibility for what you do, be it demonize homosexuals, feminists or people of different faith.
"NRAFOUREVER" sure does a good job representing his inbred brethren. The spelling and lack of basic education from that fucktard is HILARIOUS...yet tragic. I think he sums up his own people pretty accurately though.
YOUR RONG! Plus you have to cuss to make your point, which shows STUPIDETY! Smarte people dont have to CUSS! Jesis was aginst it! Wayne LaPerrie does not cuss either! YOU LIB! Jesis gave us our rites to have guns, arm our familey against crimenales, protect our parking space, keep wife in line. Its in the CONSTIEITUION. GO NRA GO!
Thank you NRAForeskin, I have copied your home page so I can put your name on every blog and site I visit... yours is the best example of assbusting comedy I have seen in years.
A Christo-Fascist who can't spell "Jesus"... I couldn't have written it funnier myself.
Really? You know, atheists know that 2+2=4, Washington was the first president and a whole host of facts. Plus, atheists also believe that it is morally wrong to murder, lie, steal. In fact, religious hypocrites like Swaggart, Baker, and Haggard so many other frauds speak against "sin" and then commit the acts for which they condemn others. So the religious have no monopoly on truth.
How dare they talk to children like this? oh what u'd rather people tell em to DENY GOD? to believe there is no hell? to believe there is not heaven? to believe there are here just to live how they want! YEA OK SURE THING CHRIS! Life w/o God is pointless! and its a shame there IS A HELL! at least Jerry is up in Heaven..hopefully you relieze the truth b4 your time is up!
Instructing children to believe in hell (an aphysical plane of existence where you are posthumously tortured forever) is a form of mental abuse. If you think abusing children is a proper and moral way to conduct oneself then go ahead, it only makes it easier to argue with you theist nutcases.
Only siners go to hell, so its okay to tell kids about it. If they is good Christean gun owner , then no problem. Only if they are niger or Jew is there a problem. GO NRA GO!
What do you instruct them? Moral relativism? If you ever went to Church you'd realize Hell is hardly mentioned let alone dwelt on. It's usually the guilt ridden who dwell on it.
Heheheh. The religious nutjobs are showing up. Not surprising. I hope "britnicLUchic" enjoys the celestial totalitarian dictatorship she so desires, while the rest of us reasonable people are burning in hell.
Whatever...not a religious nutjob. I just kno who jerry was...if this hitchens guy were to die....i wouldnt critisize him and say hope hes enjoyin hell..i dont want anyone to go there.
It appears that britnicLUchic doesn't have the wit to even understand my comment, let alone respond to it. Not too surprising since she is a student at Falwell's Liberty University.
Is it true, incidentally, that the Liberty University museum has a dinosaur fossil that is labeled as being 3000 years old? I suppose the homeschoolers who attend this "university" really believe that. The same people who, as Lewis Black says, "watch the Flintstones as if it was a documentary."
Its a pity there is a hell you people will go to if you keep thinkin like this...God gives you chances and obviously makes it obvious what the truth is...no one wants to face it tho. just wana live their own life.
YEA YOUR RITE! Athiests are HORIBLE! Christeans would never make fun of them after theier dead! We only make fun of them while were killing them, then prey for there soul ! GO NR A GO!
It would be grossly ignorant and dangerous not to tell the truth about Falwell's real "legacy".... i.e. American Christo-Fascism. He has done more harm to the US than anyone I can think of in the last century
yea thats FALSE! nice try tho. have u met him? have u been to Liberty University? do u kno the things hes done BESIDES the dumb political comments hes made? have u met his family? do u REALLY Know anything bout him...HM GUESS NOT!...which is sad cuz he was a great, Godly, loving Guy and no one who never TRUELY new him..not than portrayed through the media will never know...unless u make it to heaven
You don't get it. Hitchens' take on this has nothing to do with enjoying anyone's death. His point is that this man was no saint and the absurd outpouring of grief for this bible-thumping crook, simply because he was thumping a bible. People of made of much better stuff than Jerry Falwell die every day.
I must have missed the state funeral. Very few people as good as Falwell die ever. He made Christians stand up for what they believe and quit taking this secular shit we wade through everyday.
He never said he was a saint. You non-believers somehow think all Christians have to be Christ himself else the religion is a lie.
You just don't won't anyone pointing out your perversions.
Yes, we must stand up for our religious beliefs but not to the point of arrogance and bigotry. It simply defeats that very message that Christ wants us to do.
Absolutely. It begs the question though, "why do non believers apologize when caught in adultry etc."?
I mean, do they even think about it? If you have no basis in Christ, no recognition of moral standards, what makes you feel "bad" or like you need to apologize?
Simple. All of us believe in something. Even when they say "I believe in nothing" it's the same thing. That belief creates laws and morals which sometimes we can identify with even they are from different source.
True, but why would a Christian be houded by the press for the same offense an agnostic gets away with? Take the mayor of San Fran for example. He was contrite. The press felt sorry for him.
If you believe in the christian faith, these must not alarm you. instead look at it as a means to strengthen your faith. christianity is not a walk in a park. good day.
There are people who are atheist but believe in the dignity of the humanity. Some don't. Many Buddhist don't believe in God but they have values that sometimes we "Christians" can be really ashamed of ourselves. And they don't even have Christ as their reference.
Just because you're not a christian doesn't mean you have no sense of morality. There has never, in the history of the planet, been a civilization in which theft, for example, was considered acceptable.
My point was that man is an inherently moral animal as every single civilization has proved. I was saying this in response to your implication that only Christians are capable of morality (hence your confusion about non-believers who feel bad about commiting adultery)
NRAforever--- wow, what a moron. Britnicwhatever, I infer from your implication that you have met him, know his family and know a lot about Falwell (why else would you venture to comment on him?) If he was as godly as you desire to be, then you would be stoking the fires of hell, if there was one.
Chris Hitchens and Jerry Falwell deserve one another; one a fundamentalist evangelical Christian, the other a fundamentalist evangelical atheist, they're two sides of the same coin: a pair of radical, fanatical, intolerant and, yes, "horrible little [people]."
Sorry jerry, but there is no such thing as an atheist "fundie"... we have no "book" whose every word we must believe and accept as the word of a "God"... you'll probably say "Darwin's book" thus showing your ignorance of the fact that for 150 years, scientists have been trying to knock down the theory of Evolution without succeeding.
Funny, it seems I've heard similar arguments before. One might go so far as to say that this is FUNDEMENTAL atheist ideology. Face it, whether the prevailing episteme happens to be Christianity or Atheism, as Derrida's theory of logocentrism makes clear, there will always be a transcendental signified at work. By the way, I'm not a moron, but thanks for the lecture on Origen of Species.
God Bless (well, not really of course) Christopher Hitchens for using the phrase "Chaucerian Frauds" on national Amercian television! A perfect antidote to the self-serving chorus of sycophants and milque-toast apologists commenting on TV about Falwell's "legacy".
My favoreite line as well. I also liked "how dare they raise money from credulous on their huckster-like Elmer Gantry radio stations". Pure genius. Now I'll go back to the other 70% of the time where I disagree with Hitchens.
Falwell was a Christian terrorist and a failed human being, he deserved no respect or sympathy in life and certainly will get none from me in death. The only thing about his death that upsets me is that he wasn't mired in scandal and that he wasn't ripped apart by wild dogs.
look at all these religious fanboys acting big behind their computers. Religion is bullshit rest in piece hitchens

The straight men I know, who are truly comfortable with their sexuality, don't obsess over gays the way Falwell did.
scoreyourlife 4 years ago
He was not a vile man. Obviously like ive said..ya'l just kno the guy the media portrayed. Didnt kno who he truely was at heart. Us here at Liberty Saw the real him. He didnt obsess w/homosexuallity...he just stood up for what he believed and well that would be Gods word and the Bible says homosexuality is wrong. Yeah he sinned. no one is perfect. but as christians we recognize our sins and try to change.
britnicLUchic 4 years ago
yeah, carte blanche to do whatever you want then ask a fictional character for forgiveness... Grow up, go to a real university and take responsibility for what you do, be it demonize homosexuals, feminists or people of different faith.
fatmeteor 4 years ago
If you gave Falwell an enema you could bury him in a matchbox. Hitchens said this on Fox, LOL.

I don't like Hitchens on most things, but he's right on about this grubby little theocratic nutjob.

"NRAFOUREVER" sure does a good job representing his inbred brethren. The spelling and lack of basic education from that fucktard is HILARIOUS...yet tragic. I think he sums up his own people pretty accurately though.

Thank you NRAForeskin, I have copied your home page so I can put your name on every blog and site I visit... yours is the best example of assbusting comedy I have seen in years.
A Christo-Fascist who can't spell "Jesus"... I couldn't have written it funnier myself.

Will do! Enjoy your life!
demliars 4 years ago

Life w/o God is pointless! and its a shame there IS A HELL! at least Jerry is up in Heaven..hopefully you relieze the truth b4 your time is up!
britnicLUchic 4 years ago
Instructing children to believe in hell (an aphysical plane of existence where you are posthumously tortured forever) is a form of mental abuse. If you think abusing children is a proper and moral way to conduct oneself then go ahead, it only makes it easier to argue with you theist nutcases.
WigTheSlick 4 years ago
Only siners go to hell, so its okay to tell kids about it. If they is good Christean gun owner , then no problem. Only if they are niger or Jew is there a problem. GO NRA GO!
NRAFourever 4 years ago
Hahahaha! Hilarious.
rpsmith1989 4 years ago
What do you instruct them? Moral relativism? If you ever went to Church you'd realize Hell is hardly mentioned let alone dwelt on. It's usually the guilt ridden who dwell on it.
demliars 4 years ago
Heheheh. The religious nutjobs are showing up. Not surprising. I hope "britnicLUchic" enjoys the celestial totalitarian dictatorship she so desires, while the rest of us reasonable people are burning in hell.
rpsmith1989 4 years ago
Whatever...not a religious nutjob. I just kno who jerry was...if this hitchens guy were to die....i wouldnt critisize him and say hope hes enjoyin hell..i dont want anyone to go there.
britnicLUchic 4 years ago
It appears that britnicLUchic doesn't have the wit to even understand my comment, let alone respond to it. Not too surprising since she is a student at Falwell's Liberty University.
Is it true, incidentally, that the Liberty University museum has a dinosaur fossil that is labeled as being 3000 years old? I suppose the homeschoolers who attend this "university" really believe that. The same people who, as Lewis Black says, "watch the Flintstones as if it was a documentary."

I'm one of these feminists that he says caused 9-11-01.

Exactly.. it is a pity there is not a hell for him to go to.

Do you mean none for Hitchens?
You don't think Falwell went to heaven, do you? Modern Day Pharisee that he was?
TCall2004 4 years ago
Well there is no hell or heaven. But I meant for Falwell. It is indeed a pity there is no hell for him to rot in.
reggaeirie1234 4 years ago
Its a pity there is a hell you people will go to if you keep thinkin like this...God gives you chances and obviously makes it obvious what the truth is...no one wants to face it tho. just wana live their own life.
britnicLUchic 4 years ago
And what disgusting lives they must be. What kind of person enjoys the bashing of a deadman? hitchens himself doesn't even seem to be enjoying it.

It would be grossly ignorant and dangerous not to tell the truth about Falwell's real "legacy".... i.e. American Christo-Fascism. He has done more harm to the US than anyone I can think of in the last century
LEATSLAN 4 years ago
yea thats FALSE! nice try tho. have u met him? have u been to Liberty University? do u kno the things hes done BESIDES the dumb political comments hes made? have u met his family? do u REALLY Know anything bout him...HM GUESS NOT!...which is sad cuz he was a great, Godly, loving Guy and no one who never TRUELY new him..not than portrayed through the media will never know...unless u make it to heaven
britnicLUchic 4 years ago
You don't get it. Hitchens' take on this has nothing to do with enjoying anyone's death. His point is that this man was no saint and the absurd outpouring of grief for this bible-thumping crook, simply because he was thumping a bible. People of made of much better stuff than Jerry Falwell die every day.
dgumbrecht 4 years ago 5
I must have missed the state funeral. Very few people as good as Falwell die ever. He made Christians stand up for what they believe and quit taking this secular shit we wade through everyday.
He never said he was a saint. You non-believers somehow think all Christians have to be Christ himself else the religion is a lie.
You just don't won't anyone pointing out your perversions.
demliars 4 years ago
Yes, we must stand up for our religious beliefs but not to the point of arrogance and bigotry. It simply defeats that very message that Christ wants us to do.
archgin74 4 years ago
Absolutely. It begs the question though, "why do non believers apologize when caught in adultry etc."?
I mean, do they even think about it? If you have no basis in Christ, no recognition of moral standards, what makes you feel "bad" or like you need to apologize?
demliars 4 years ago
Simple. All of us believe in something. Even when they say "I believe in nothing" it's the same thing. That belief creates laws and morals which sometimes we can identify with even they are from different source.
archgin74 4 years ago
True, but why would a Christian be houded by the press for the same offense an agnostic gets away with? Take the mayor of San Fran for example. He was contrite. The press felt sorry for him.
demliars 4 years ago
If you believe in the christian faith, these must not alarm you. instead look at it as a means to strengthen your faith. christianity is not a walk in a park. good day.
archgin74 4 years ago
There are people who are atheist but believe in the dignity of the humanity. Some don't. Many Buddhist don't believe in God but they have values that sometimes we "Christians" can be really ashamed of ourselves. And they don't even have Christ as their reference.
archgin74 4 years ago
Just because you're not a christian doesn't mean you have no sense of morality. There has never, in the history of the planet, been a civilization in which theft, for example, was considered acceptable.
ninjanerd8 4 years ago 2
"Civilization" being the key word though ninjanerd8. Morals come from God. Man is from God. Animals respect nor expect any rights or behavior.
demliars 4 years ago
My point was that man is an inherently moral animal as every single civilization has proved. I was saying this in response to your implication that only Christians are capable of morality (hence your confusion about non-believers who feel bad about commiting adultery)
ninjanerd8 4 years ago
Although my views and morals can be regarded as a conservative christian, I do not agree with the manner those values are taught and expressed.
archgin74 4 years ago
YOUR RITE! Those STUPIDE LIBS dont know NOTHING! JEsis will show them whats what! GO NRA GO!

NRAforever--- wow, what a moron. Britnicwhatever, I infer from your implication that you have met him, know his family and know a lot about Falwell (why else would you venture to comment on him?) If he was as godly as you desire to be, then you would be stoking the fires of hell, if there was one.
fatmeteor 4 years ago
Chris Hitchens and Jerry Falwell deserve one another; one a fundamentalist evangelical Christian, the other a fundamentalist evangelical atheist, they're two sides of the same coin: a pair of radical, fanatical, intolerant and, yes, "horrible little [people]."

jeremyemilio 4 years ago
Sorry jerry, but there is no such thing as an atheist "fundie"... we have no "book" whose every word we must believe and accept as the word of a "God"... you'll probably say "Darwin's book" thus showing your ignorance of the fact that for 150 years, scientists have been trying to knock down the theory of Evolution without succeeding.
NEXT!
LEATSLAN 4 years ago
