I want to go to either Westpoint or Norwich and go into the army and be in infantry, but my dad doesnt want me to be an infantry grunt. Idk what to do, thinking of the USAF Pilot Rescue program, id be doing good and be able to feel the accomplishment when i save a downed pilot.

@Krvaak You mean Pararescue? You dont just rescue pilots. I was interested in becoming a PJ but the AF is really difficult when it comes to job selection, and if you fail out (being that its a 90% washout rate, highest in US Military, and yes...higher than SEALs...youll be stuck behind a desk for 8 years.) and its hard to train into another job if you dont like that one. I just joined the Army as a 13F Fire Support Specialist.

@Krvaak You may also want to consider becoming a combat medic or EOD technician, you would be disarming explosives and saving many servicemen and civilians, I have looked into pjs as well, though there is a high wash out rate what i have learned is don't think about what you will do if you fail, put it in your mind that failure is not an option and you wont. If its your dream go for it as the song says fear is what turns dreams to dust if your afraid of dropping out your dream wont come true.
