@coolymichael It's been replaced with a similar menu entry: switch from "Blender Render" to "Blender Game" in the menu bar and then click Game -> Record animation.
how did you get your blocks to stay at the exact same position until the ball hits them? mine always move around a little bit and so you can see that the wall is made of several cubes..
@Nightmare339 when i first saw this video i was pretty new in blender and i thought it was made with soft bodies^^ i later found out that those simulations work much better with game engine and recording the animation. if you're using 2.5 make sure that you use 'Blender Game' instead of 'Blender Render' (on the top, next to the scene selection) and then go to Game -> Record animation
@austrian5 well, I know how to animate this, problem is - if I make a "wall" from blocks it it not stable like yours I dont know whats wrong with mine setup :<
WOW! Good animation. I don't know how to do this on blender. I can make a simulation with the blender game engine, but when I try to do the same simulation, with the Object > Physics Button, the edges fall down and my box seems a flat object. Do you know any solution?
yeah, im in blender 2.48, and when i render the animation, it just renders the first frame, again.. and again... and again. lol as if it were only rendering based on keyframe animations, versus the physics engine. any help?
You mean why the wall looks seamless? It's because the bricks are placed just on top of each other and the bounds are set to static triangle mesh (I think). So they don't jump around.
No.1 the website is down, No.2 The Static triangle mesh makes it behave like a ghost when colliding with my spheres. I want to try this, but it's not working. No.3 Woh do I bake the simulation to IPO curves for an animation? Please help, Xenos R. Drake.
hey how did you pile up the bricks like that perfectly. did you just make a cube sized the y value then add vertices for the bricks? or what....nice video by the way
yeah but...how did you pile bricks up like that......do you just use a cube then slice it or something? get what im saying?? i know how you did all the other stuff....please help me...im gonna make a movie with this type of thing..
can you help me please. i have to set the actor for both as box and sphere(of course) but when i do it....for one the boxes bounce then land and they dont look as firm as yours...and second. the ball just bounces back with no weight or force. is there a way to change that?(weight maybe)?
BURP eh? How come I've never heard if before. Haven't seen the link in blender dot org also. Does the CPU matter or only the amount of memory matter to participate. I'd like to turn up the details also on my renders.
I like the ray mirror on everything and the high resolution. Also, the stack of boxes (or the brick wall or whatever) did you just make it as a single mesh and then do boolean or something because it looks very seamless before the sphere hits it.
The boxes are separate objects, and they are put together as close as possible (what means a distance of 0.000 between them). When I watch it at full resolution, there is an almost invisible seam between them.
it's a simple physics test, but you gave it style man ;)

Hey how do you make the reflective material on game engine?
Mostwantedo 1 year ago
@Mostwantedo The reflections are not rendered in realtime. The simulation itself runs without any materials.

Can something like this be used in a game ???
AcAnimate 1 year ago
@AcAnimate Yes, the Blender game engine allows you to use physics like these in real time.

how do you make the blocks fit perfectly?
??

i clicked record physics to IPO but the cubes still don´t fall in the redered video
can u help me?

@SchoschProductions i will try :D

how can I render what I see in play mod?
xXChinesXx 1 year ago
@xXChinesXx In Blender v2.49, you click Game -> Record game physics to IPO in the menu bar at the top of your screen.
In Blender v2.5, you have to switch from Blender Render to Blender Game in the menu bar and then click Game -> Record animation.
Hope this helps!

how do you make the blocks fit perfectly?
julienmauricemort 1 year ago 2
@julienmauricemort
duplicate and size it down or up to fit
JuniorProducer1996 1 year ago
@julienmauricemort Just snap them to the grid :P
AcAnimate 1 year ago
@julienmauricemort I just made regularly sized blocks (1*0.25*0.25 units or something) and used the snap to grid "function" to line them up.

it would be much help if u can tell me how to make the wall break apart when the balls hit it cant figure out how its done . nice video btw

Why it's so slow. I want it in normal speed.
They always slow down it...

I'm sorry, but this was one of the first animations I did in Blender and I didn't know that much about IPOs and all the related stuff...
SchoschProductions 2 years ago
Ah no problem with that, thats just no of the blender animations are in real time. They all are slowed down.

I wonder one thing, how do i copy an object? not dublicate it but, copy it, and how do i paste it?

Duplicating an object in Blender = copying and pasting in one step
I don't know any other way to copy & paste objects...

You have to enable "Bake Game Physics to IPO" (which you can find in the "Game" menu on top of your screen) and then run the simulation again.

How do I animate Normal physic objects? I can't find a Rigid body option, there's only ;soft body ,cloth and fluid!?

I used 'Box' for both the bricks and the floor.
Did you take a look at the .blend file? (the link is in the video description)
To bake your simulation, click on 'game' in the button row on the top and make sure that 'Record game physics to IPO' is checked.
SchoschProductions 3 years ago
The website says "The requested URL /Wall.blend was not found on this server" You need to fix the url.

The floor is a plane using the default box as boundary, same goes for the ramp. The bricks are set to dynamic, rigid body and box as boundary.
Take a look at my .blend file if that helps! (Link is in the video description)

Is 500 mhz and 512 mb enough? It doesn't mention any minimum specs.
AkoyPinoy2 4 years ago
With 500 mhz you will have a hard time because there can be workunits that take more than 10 hours to complete, and they are not pausable (yet).
(You could use the hibernation mode of your pc.)

Your memory should be bigger than 256mb, but the main aspect is your CPU power.
