  • There is corruption in the government, and you can't have one where you don't know who's in it. I don't think the MPAA has much dictating power over our lives. If you're a kid, it's not hard to get access to an NC-17 movie by the time it hits videos, and I don't think you even need to be 18 to buy an R-rated movie.

  • Well - control over what we see could be seen as control over us in at least one aspect. The conclusion I reached on the fourms about this was not to have the current ratings but an informative system that actualy tells us what is in the movie without saying whom cant watch it. Not sure if that would work but...

  • Yeah I came to a conclusion to that there's a reason they deem sexual orientation with an easier higher rating, which illustrates the same thing about language.

  • That's true, my point was that if you're a film maker and you want to talk about sexuality, or show it, it's hard to get the film made at all.

  • I kind of agree with you there, as the highest grossing R movie made half of the highest grossing PG-13 movie in world-wide box-offices. I think this really just adds to the criteria that is actually set by the MPAA, which I believe is hassled the majority of censoring critical audience.

  • I counted, it was actualy 3 hours of conversation! Can you believe that? Great discussion :)

  • Wow! Well, that was before editing taking place.
