As an Englishman I must say how worrying it is to see how tight politics and religion are interwoven in America.
It seems a major part of every debate, over here people may go to church on a Sunday or have faith, but it doesn't seem to dominate everything the way it does there.

FOX listeners are not unreachable they are just simple and ignorant. Simple people can be taught, it just takes thousands of times longer for them to understand anything. However, it is worth the effort.
But I do agree that a well organized argument and outlining the facts may not be the way to go. We may actually need to create a TV news station or programming that teaches critical thinking skills involving news consumption for the uneducated and youth.

If you don't know how much FOX news is just opinion and not facts you have not been paying enough attention for anyone to have a worthwhile conversation with you. Substantiate what you claim. The video CNN didn't cover shows an Obama campaign volunteer faking being a doctor at a town hall.

there are tons of videos on youtube of DNC astroturf ("Organizing For America") showing up in busses at rallies, all being given pre-approved signs by the DNC. When asked about the subject matter of their signs, they end up looking very bewildered having not even read them- unable to answer rebuttals about the claims said signs make. There you go, plenty of astroturf from your side. This is a bit of a tangent- this astroturf thing- but I'll indulge you, if you want to get somewhat off-topic.

The signs at the Tea Parties on the other hand, are all homemade, and the people there, show up in their cars (as opposed to busses paid for by their party), they're not being paid to be there, and they actually know what their signs say. The conservatives only put forth an allegation of the media being left-leaning with no examples, just smoke and mirror allegations.
