  • Pour ange, c'est une ange comme un ange, ça ne se change pas, il n'y a pas de féminin pour ange. ^^ Mais en général on dit "Mon ange" <3

Well for angel, it 'une ange" (an angel for feminine) like "un ange" (an angel for masculine) , it doesn't change, there is not feminine for this word. But we rather say "Mon ange" (My angel). :D

Bye ! =D Salutation de la France. ;)

  • Mon petit ami means boyfriend!?! Oh I used to say that jokingly to my French collegue.

  • @makimura55 vrai....

  • You are doing a great job Jeremy! Your lessons have been a great help. God bless you!

  • You're awesome

  • will you teach me online through an online board/skype? take a payment through paypal? pls let me know. merci.

  • @duptubeman It means both

  • This guy isn't from France... he's from Quebec... which is a kinda americanised France

  • Just say "bonjour" and ask them before if they speak english and everything will be nice with French people.

If you ask something directly in a fast english, without any polite "hello" or "bonjour" or "good morning"... you will be cold answered or not answered !

Imagine as a french tourist in New-York, I come and ask something in a quick french ?

  • we don't make a difference, it means both :)

  • are people in Paris very rude to non-french speakers, or is that just a stereotype. If you have difficulty with french will they ignore you or will they make an effort to talk to you.

  • @xenomann442 it depends on people, as everywhere in the world. Generally, I think french people love strangers when they make an effort to speak french. It is always kinda cute or funny, even touching sometimes so I really think that what you say is just a cliché. I live in Paris myself (it's been a while) and people are quite nice. Though lots of them are in a hurry (they often say so) so that's why they might seem rude or indifferent.

  • the Anglo-Saxon are worse

speak english please ! speak english (white) please !

  • I'll make an effort I love learning foreign languages and getting to know other cultures

  • C'est un excellent cours. Vous avez un un très bon accent ! Je suis française et je voudrais rajouter quelque chose, pour tous les hommes anglophones : l'accent anglais est terriblement "gentleman" et distingué...Gardez-le

Okay, I try to translate my comment in English !

Well done ! It is an excellent lesson ! Your accent is very good ! I am french and I'd like to add something for all the english-speakers men : the english accent is terribly distinguished and it has class...so, keep it

  • Hum... And what about the accents which are presents on ''chéri(e)''?

Source: I'm a native french speaker.

Another thing: isn't ''ai'' pronounced like ''é'' in the end of a word? I always say ''J'ai'' like ''J'é''. My last name is Tremblay, so I say: Tremblé and not Tremblè.

  • @zylon17 dit "I always say J'ai like J'é. My last name is Tremblay, so I say: Tremblé and not Tremblè. "

Ce en quoi tu te trompes mon cher ami. :)

Bon allez disons que ça dépend des régions. Mais la prononciation de Rémy en l'occurrence est la bonne et la tienne la mauvaise !

    lol

  • Absolutly Brillient.

  • Très bon travail !!!!!!!

  • Tu as la patience et la pédagogie d'un instituteur, et on sent chez toi un petit brin de passion pour la langue française comme certainement pour les autres langues étrangères. Prononciation pratiquement parfaite, rien à dire.

Very good job.I guess that you come from american east coast, not texas ( lol ). Aren't you ?

    From france .

  • Merci du compliment :)

  • Je confirme ;)

  • Hey Remy!

J'ai une question! Dis moi, t'es prof de français aux état unis?

  • Thank your for your wonderful videos!

I am currently brushing up on my French and was hoping you could clarify something for me. You used "mon cheri" and "ma cherie" in your lesson, but I have also seen it as "mon cher" and "ma chere". Are both sets correct? If so, are they different in formality?

  • Mon cher and ma chere are more formal and you might use them for relatives or friends but not for your boyfriend / girlfriend or children.

  • Haha, I love your disclaimer. x3

I ran into this video while watching Disney songs in French (a favorite hobby of mine when I'm online).

I like how you wrote out the conjugation charts for the verbs. The visual always helped me when I took Spanish, and it still does, apparently. =] (I'm inspired to learn French.)

  • Muchas gracias :)

  • That advisory is fun. I never laughed so hard in my life. French language is so endearing to learn.

  • Merci!

  • You heard right. I made the liaison which sounds like a "z". This is because otherwise there would be a vowel clash between the "es" and the "un".

    Good ear!

  • Je t'aime, Remy.

  • hey remy =) im actually confused about the femininity etc.. so, it depends on the word, or on the person who says it? fyi, im a girl. lol thanks ^^

  • It depends on the word (noun).

  • i had the same confusion. thanks remy !

  • I thought J'aime meant I like.If J'aime means I love then how do you say I like?

  • "J'aime" can mean EITHER I like and I love :)

  • ou ta appris le francais remy ? europe ou quebec?

  • Je suis français d'origine.

  • then how come u speak perfect english?

  • My English is far from perfect but I have had 30 years practice :)

  • je suis français, but I do speak english as well

  • Tu m'aimes ? (question) is familiar

    better way : Est-ce que tu m'aimes ?

    Best way : M'aimes-tu ?

  • I just discovered your lessons and these extras and thanks to you, I will have a great suprise for my boyfriend who is French! So thank you, merci, kiitos for your time! These are wonderful :)

  • How romantic. I feel like cupid :-)

  • hi remy in your next lesson can you say the french alphabets

  • hey there remy! its been a couple of months since i finished your series of lessons. vry much looking forward to the next one. iv been trying to learn a little on my own though it can be hard at times.

merci pour tes videos, et a bientot for now.

  • I was away for four months but I am now back in Dallas and working on new lessons :-)

  • Hey, jremy, I have been watching your videos over and over trying to make the basics of French more concrete. Now I am wondering, are you going to make more videos? And, if so, can you give me an estimate as to how long it may be. Thank you for your time.

  • I'm planning on actually recording new lessons this week (2/25/08). I was away for 4 months but I'm back now.

  • Oh that's great. I've been looking forward to another one of your videos for a long time. Thank you once again for your time.

  • est ce que c'est possible de faire une vidéo sur la construction du vocabulaire? Parce que je suis assez bon en orthographe, mais je ne suis pas bon pour la prononciation et coversation..

  • did you understand what i wrote? I guess it would be more easy if i said it in English Lol ^^

  • I'm not sure what you mean by vocabulary construction :-)

  • oh like 10 minuets of "Saying" different words in French. Like "Dog, Cat, Car, Bus, Video" etc.. for some people who really want to learn but aren't sure how to say it. Or maybe even saying the alphabet slowly. Thanks JRemy7 for your time.

  • hi remy, im an avid fan of your vblog and im loving it! i hope you will make more vblogs about french because you are a big help for those who want to learn french. its really effective listening to you than reading and not knowing how to pronounce a french word. thanks!!

  • Cool people like yourself make me want to make even more videos. Thanks :-)

  • This guy is good! very good! great for learning. Thanks for taking the time to put this together.

  • i loveeee ur english!! ^.^!

je suis vraiment sur que vous etes un bon prof!!*

  • Isn't the "te" represented in 'je t'aime' a preceding direct object rather than a reflexive pronoun? If it was reflexivity then it would have to be "je m'aime", "il s'aime" etc, non?

  • Yes I was trying to simplify things but you are correct.

  • how can u tell if the word is masculine or feminine?

  • You just have to learn them...

  • I am trying for more conversational French.

While your videos are extremely helpful, I implore you to continue your work on youtube.

Thanks again. Got a paypal for donations?

  • I do plan on making more videos. I'm working on the building blocks of French right now.

  • my paypal is remyvoyron "at" yahoo "dot" com

  • Bonjour, mes ami Remy, Je m'appelle Zachary. Je ne pas as un vidéo, je désire ver présent vous le compétences d'étude J'ai instruit(éduqué)origine vous. Plat sil tu corrige moi. Merci, Au revoir

  • Hey Zachary. I'm not sure what you're trying to say in some of sentences so it's difficult for me to correct them. However:

It should be "mon ami", "corrige moi s'il te plait".

  • Excellent !

  • if ai=ay then je t'aime.=je tame. and not je tim. it would be better to write je te'me. peut-etre. so is this reflextivity as common as the liasons in french?

  • tame is better. I agree.

Liaisons are used all the time.

  • est-ce que t'parles l'espagnol?

  • Je suis en train de l'apprendre :-)

  • qu'est-ce que c'est? "en train de"

j'ai appris l'espagnol pour(?) 4 années, et le français pour 3.

  • En train de =

    In the process of

  • hi remy, just recently my eyes teared up when i was able to recognize je t'amie and because of your lessons i knew it was i love you. thanks for unraveling this beautiful language. especially when you live in a french historical area like new orleans. being from a apanish background i was always puzzled how to pronouce and what these words and street names meant. Je T'adore, victoria (J'habite `a New Orleans)

  • Question: if j'aime means I love, how do you say I like? I thought j'aime was I like. < still learning :) thanks jermey!

  • You're getting ahead of me :-)

You are correct. You can say "J'aime" for I like something. "J'aime le popcorn"

  • Et accents ?
