Have a thick towel ready to wrap the wet cat in when the bath is over (the cat will like this part).

And give the cat a treat afterwards. Give yourself one, too. (;^)

i'm learning japanese, hope to have your guidance! your cats are too precious! :)

  • how do you shower you cats? I really need to know how you clean them

can you make a video please ?

  • REO takes a shower only fallen hair season.

Because cat clean a body oneself very much. I sometimes brush them.

But, I did not bathe him anymore in around 3 years(^_^;)

I will bathe REO in the near term .

  • what time of the year they change hair ? so its not healthy to shower them ?

its better to leave them ? what if they go out in the dert outside and came in dirty I'll get a new cat I dont know what to do T.T

  • Their hair changes before summer. It's not healthy to shower them very often. I think shower is all right once a month.

    My cats are inside cats.

    So they are not stained.

The way that does not let them go outside is desirable if you can do it.

Because the outside is in danger of an accident and the disease.

Sorry, I am japanese with poor English(-_-;)

  • your english is perfect :)

    <3 nihon :) and nihon people ^-^

  • haijiqさん English is perfect ^^

  • haijiq,

Your English is good enough to communicate well. ;-)

Cats are gifts from God, sent to soothe the human soul. (;^)

  • @haijiq Your english is better than a lot of native speakers I have met. While some word choices may not be the best, the words used are in the proper context for example you used shower but best choice is bathe. Since your context is getting your cat clean, using shower does not change the context.

  • @Robbob9933 I agree, and was just about to write something similar. The meaning of the words is correct, and that's the main thing. And, to confuse things further for hailiq, cats will often prefer a shower... a cat only very rarely bathes! ;) Most cats avoid water, but there are exceptions... There is some sort of north African cat that loves water, for instance, and will even swim around in it!

  • @MowgliX I never had a domestic cat that did not love the water. If the basement got water in it (very shallow water table) we would always find the cats taking strolls in the water.

  • @Robbob9933 My cats have always had a very tentative attitude towards water. "What is this thing? I don't like it much... It's wet, my well-groomed fur gets all messy and sticky...!" They will tolerate a shower sometimes – though it is generally not necessary, since a cat has a natural instinct to keep absolutely spotless – as long as the water was *just* the right temperature, and absolutely NO water on the head or near the very sensitive ears!

  • No, no!!! Don't get rid of your cat just because it gets dirty!! (;^) Would you throw your children away because they get dirty? (8^)

Just give your kitty a bathe. It won't like it, but a bath won't hurt it. Trim its nails first, to protect yourself from bad scratches.

If the kitty isn't too dirty, just wipe it off with a warm, wet washcloth. (;^)

  • The comment below was to hoter231.

  • hoter231,

You asked, "How do you shower a cat?"

    First, trim its nails.

It's best to wash a cat in a big sink that you can stand in front of, like a kitchen sink, so you have full use of your hands. A spray nozzle is very helpful.

It's easier for two people to wash a cat; one person holds the cat, the other soaps and rinses it. Rinse the soap off well; otherwise the cat will lick the soap off its fur and might get diarrhea. (8^(
