These Transatlantic Sessions videos are the closest thing to a time machine I've ever seen. You can watch these people aging in a matter of minutes. The quality of this video adds to the illusion, it's like this video made it to YouTube just in time before being lost forever. This is one of the best things about YouTube.

I heard her (this song) for the first time a couple of weeks ago on Hillbilly at Harvard WHRB, and I ran to get my pen and paper when he said who it was. I know a good singer when I hear one. I thought she was a brand-new act! This song is from 1993? Wow! I have some catching up to do on Iris DeMent! I am from Boston so her accent really knocks me out! I love it! I also love the little nose wrinkle she did when she mentioned carrots. That was CUTE!
