This is my honest opinion:

MW3 has a great single player. Not only the realism, but also the storyline. The multiplayer has some flaws though, but it just came out, so thats pretty typical.

BF3 has a great realistic multi player. Almost no flaws. But the single player is just horrible, in my opinion.

So if you are more single player based, buy MW3.

If you are a realistic multiplayer gamer, buy BF3.

MoH was supposed to be the new CoD. Never happened. Crysis 2 was supposed to 1UP CoD as the "new standard". Game died out. All in all, it's all just overly hyped up. BF3 will probably die out too. I'm getting Battlefield 3. COD has been a huge letdown since MW2. COD4 and World at War are the only ones I really enjoy, but now that the multiplayer's a hack-fest, those games pretty much died.

Yes, they are comparable. They are both FPS titles that are coming out near the same time, competing for a piece of the same market. The only difference is the play style.

To be put simply, the only real negative thing you can say about Battlefield is that it isn't your play style. Which isn't anything wrong with the game itself; it just isn't your taste. However, there are ACTUAL things wrong with MW3. It's essentially the same game as the past installations with the same price tag.

CoD has always catered to casual gamers, being that arcade style games are usually their preferred choice. Battlefield on the other hand caters to the more hardcore gaming crowd, those that demand a bit more realism in their war. Whatever your preference, one is superior. BF3 is what any hardcore FPS fan wants, but there are far more casual gamers than those of the hardcore. MW3 may out-sale BF3, but it'll only be due to number of casual gamers in ratio to hardcore gamers, not quality of title.
