Oregon was strange. Jackson county is a very predominately white community, and so is Josephine county. Both of whom currently have an active KKK and Aryan Nation on site. However, being as Grants pass has a very high amount of homosexuals the vote went to Obama predominately. And Jackson county, which is a retirement community voted Obama, making him not only the only Democrat voted in from them, but the only black person. Oregon is very liberal. Silverton even has a trans mayor.
Wow. Watching this, I can't believe how accurate you were. You said all the major toss up states would go the way they did, you called NC barely for Obama, as it happened, and MO, barely for McCain, as it happened. And Nebraska's 2nd Congressional District? Right on the money. Just Georgia though. I'm willing to forgive you for missing us in Wisconsin.
hawaii is also mostly democrat on its own so hawaii was ganna vote obama no matter what so keep that in mind if u make another vid like this and obama won so yay
Great predictions: they did finally count all the votes and Missouri DID go to McCain by just less than 4000 votes so yeah you got them all right except Georgia.
2. Arizona (Dan didnt think about this one because that's where McCain is from) He was even right about both nebraska's Congressional districts- Increadable
Wow! You came so close! You guessed Georgia wrong and we still haven't had official results in a few states but you pretty much nailed it. I can't believe you guess it so well.
Utah, this year is actually not AS lopsided, were almost half and half so far. Yes, I am from Utah, I do not support McCain, but nor do I support Obama, GO THIRD PARTY! lol, I think it would be interesting to see a third party pull through. I know, only in dreams but it would be neatr. obama over McCain, but yes, McCain does have Utah, just not as strongly as outofstaters think. Lastly I am not Mormon. Non-Mormon Utahns do exist, I am here, save me.
Good video, but I think you're a bit too optimistic. I think McCain will edge it out in more of those traditionally red states such as Georgia and Indianna. I predict a solid Obama win, but no landslide.
ehh, Obama will win the election... My bet is 11% or more... haha, It would be funny if like colbert said (or maybe it was what's his name) "Obama, do you think you would walk into that voting booth, and the white in you will say, 'I just can't do this!'?"
pennsylvania is going to be close but i don't know it might be for mccain because a lot of the people at my school, their parents are going for mccain so i don't know it will be close!
You favorited Obama. On all the states that you said would be close you picked Obama. I think this is going to be a very close election, however, I think that McCain will win by just a few of electoral votes. I'm going to say around 276-262. If McCain can secure Florida, Ohio, and North Carolina, all of which are still a toss up for most pollsters, he will have a good chance at this election. Also, historically, since Johnson, Kentucky has chosen the winner. They are going for McCain.
I just compared checked your scenario on an electoral college map, and just to be safe, I added Georgia and Indiana, and Obama still had 291 electoral votes, while McCain had 247.
You make a point in saying that those are swing states, but whether McCain wins those are not, the results you suggested don't lie. Obama still wins.
You give Obama WAYY to much credit/advantages... I highly doubt he's gonna win Georgia, and I somewhat doubt he's gonna win Florida or North Carolina. But I do believe he's going to win this election by a moderate marigin (no landslide).
Good on the predictions though, although I really don't trust the pollsters
I think Obama will win but I'm really scared he won't win either because of the electoral college or else because the Republicans steal the election again.
I read in the news today that a dead bear cub was found on a college campus with Mccain/Palin signs stapled onto its body and it was shot in the head. That made me cry and I am just really scared they could take over our country. I don't want these people living here at all let alone running things.
I completely agree with DarkStarDeck on this one, everything I was going to say has already been said by DSD. McCain= honest, hard working American hero, Obama=lying, and he never answers any questions(he diverts around them). McCain will(or should) win the 2008 election.

(okay some people(welfare people) care about his views, but most people dont give a shit about his views) He wants to raise taxes on the hard working people and give money to people who don't work for their money, and live on welfare.
im sorry dan i like most of your vids, but i think that u might be favoring obama since you are democratic (as far as I know). By that i mean that ur saying that obama would win some states, that he might not, so ya just be careful to be nutural. also look out for a response cuz im making one in response to this vid soon. So ya keep it up dan i like arguing with ur ideas!!!!
You speak as if Obama was a white candidate. If he was he would win, for shure. BUT, since he is a black, it will show as if America is prepared to have a president that comes from the minority. I don't think so! MacCain will win!
Here is my independent/neutral guess. I think Obama can or will win if turnout is huge. Young people 18-35 are going to have to vote and give Obama a 15-20 point edge. If (use that loosely) Obama splits or barely carries white and suburban women especially in Ohio, Virginia, Florida, Missouri, then it will be a landslide win.
you know i'm sick of people assuming obama is gonna win he has a good chance sure but Mccain is going to win because most democrats are young people who cant(or wont) vote at all BECAUSE they assume he'll win. MCCAIN 08
You maybe right, but history is against any party tries to win the White House 3 consecutive elections Democrat or Republican. It happened in 1992, 1968, 1952, 1936. The last time Republicans won 3 straight elections was in 1980, 1984, and 1988. The media loved Reagan in 1980 like they love Obama in 2008. Early voting usually hurts Republicans and it will hurt McCain. In NC, 300,000-500,000 people voted and the turnout was 56% Dem to 28% Rep. 65% of them either minority, young, or new voters.
although I do agree with you on most of the states there are a few where I am borderline McCain. I am not really involved in politics and I am not sure if I am wording this right but from what I have read Obama is anti-gun. Most, and I do say most, southern states are pro-gun. I am a member of the NRA as well as many other gun awareness groups. I like my right to keep and bear arms and I dont think that it should be infringed upon. So I say several states go for McCain. But that is just my view.
is this wishful thinking......Georgia for Obama....thats just stupid.....actually the whole thing is pretty lacking in real insight. Obama fans are using lacking in that among other things....like knowledge and history...
How anyone can vote for an outright socialist like Obama is beyond me....do some research before handing the country over the left wing radicals....please....i beg you....
I think that u may be right i appreciate ur logic, sincerely, but i wish u were more rong as i pull for McCain but if it does fall to McCain i bet their will be alot of pissed off ppl especially if he does poorly(i dont think he will but...) with so many pissed of ppl i could see the electoral college fall to pieces which would not be all bad unless dimocracy fell apart completly which is not to far off if McCain wins and his lack of economic knowlege causes a calapse in the economy :(
My vote is for McCain, I sincerely want him to win but I think you're right Dan. (sadly)
Of course one thing I don't think you took into account with your state by state analysis is gun owners. I think Vermont will go for McCain as well as several other Southern states simply becuse of the good ol'boy mentality and these wanna-be freemen types will only give up their guns when you pry it from their cold dead hands.
pretty interesting analysis but i'm not thinkin' landslide (id say landslide is 65-35%) im sayin obama will win 60-40 maybe 57-43 at worst but one things for sure the green party turnout will be especially low this year (as if it isnt low enough already)
i think mckin is gonna win but if obama binladen wins he will get shot no doubt,me personally i dont know who i like cuz i am not following their politics but it seems as if mckain is the bad guy
What you forgot is that part of congress is also up for re-election this year, which gives republicans a chance to gain control of the house and/or senate.
OBAMA FTW...Republicans are retarded...HAVE U NOT LEARNED YET??? GEEZ You have 8 damn years to prove yourselves and we get nothing but CRAP! Time for change noobs...Obama 2008!
Wait, I thought the democrats controlled the House? I thought the democrats passed the deregulations that ruined this economy. I thought the democrats promised to get us out of Iraq, TWO years ago. Nice going liberals, looks like we need
i dunno if anyone noticed this, but a few nights ago - TBS was playing "head of state" back to back. if you dont remember that movie it was about a black man (chris rock) running for the presidential office - which he won. anyone else think this has any sentiments towards '08?
when i watch your political videos, i feel like im listening to a talk radio station. sometimes i don't even watch the video, i just listen to it.

You're goofy to think Georgia would go to the Democrat, Dan.
I go to college in Georgia, and you should have heard the cheers and craziness and number of people saying, "We did it!" on November 5th.
I wanted to tell them that they didn't understand our Constitution if they thought their vote counted for Obama.
I was an Ohio voter then, and, similarly, my vote didn't count for McCain.
Yay Electoral College.

You speak as if Obama was a white candidate. If he was he would win, for shure. BUT, since he is a black, it will show as if America is prepared to have a president that comes from the minority. I don't think so! MacCain will win!

I AGREE, Obama will take this election!

Here is my independent/neutral guess. I think Obama can or will win if turnout is huge. Young people 18-35 are going to have to vote and give Obama a 15-20 point edge. If (use that loosely) Obama splits or barely carries white and suburban women especially in Ohio, Virginia, Florida, Missouri, then it will be a landslide win.
greg2009 3 years ago
you know i'm sick of people assuming obama is gonna win he has a good chance sure but Mccain is going to win because most democrats are young people who cant(or wont) vote at all BECAUSE they assume he'll win.

I think that u may be right i appreciate ur logic, sincerely, but i wish u were more rong as i pull for McCain but if it does fall to McCain i bet their will be alot of pissed off ppl especially if he does poorly(i dont think he will but...) with so many pissed of ppl i could see the electoral college fall to pieces which would not be all bad unless dimocracy fell apart completly which is not to far off if McCain wins and his lack of economic knowlege causes a calapse in the economy :(
bigcents01 3 years ago
My vote is for McCain, I sincerely want him to win but I think you're right Dan. (sadly)
Of course one thing I don't think you took into account with your state by state analysis is gun owners. I think Vermont will go for McCain as well as several other Southern states simply becuse of the good ol'boy mentality and these wanna-be freemen types will only give up their guns when you pry it from their cold dead hands.
Wat are your thoughts on that? or am I wrong?

at first i thought it was obama
then after the repub national convention i was for mccain
After the debates i was back to obama
his economic policy pawns mccain and thats what really matters in this election more than anything else

pretty interesting analysis but i'm not thinkin' landslide (id say landslide is 65-35%) im sayin obama will win 60-40 maybe 57-43 at worst but one things for sure the green party turnout will be especially low this year (as if it isnt low enough already)

I think it's too close to call. This election could go either way, but I'm hoping it goes for McCain... but may not. Who knows?
btw, I'm not sure Ky will go for McCain. Lots of people around here swing for Obama.

palin was definitely not the best choice for a running mate.
if obama takes the white house, then where's the balance of power in government?
one party should not determine the affairs of this country.
theindieblues 3 years ago
What you forgot is that part of congress is also up for re-election this year, which gives republicans a chance to gain control of the house and/or senate.

i dunno if anyone noticed this, but a few nights ago - TBS was playing "head of state" back to back. if you dont remember that movie it was about a black man (chris rock) running for the presidential office - which he won. anyone else think this has any sentiments towards '08?
