halo is being taken over by 343 industries which is made up of the bungie members who want to keep making halo and bungie will make another one but not for the next couple of years they have signed a 10 year contract with activision so if that may help any more of your thinking then there you go.

Going forward, anything Halo related will not be made by bungie. And there is too much money to be made on the Halo brand for Microsoft to put it on the shelf, so there will probably be another one. The rumors circulating now is a remake of Halo: CE in HD.

No, they updated the xbox so that red ring of death doesn't happen as much, but there are other problems such as mics not working after being unplugged, discs not reading properly, dlc messing up, etc. Ps3 probably has no relative problems, but not as big of an online community. It's a matter of preference I suppose.
