  • What year was this from?

  • I believe it took place in Buffalo. Does anyone know of the clip where a newscaster was interviewing people in the dead of winter and a woman walked up and talked about how she hated to work and just wanted to stay home and get laid.

  • i swear that is the same exact music intro they still use today. and don postels is still the weather guy lol

  • @joeybognar Yeah it is. Within the past year or so Ch 7 brought it back because it is nostalgia and the people here love it. And Don Postels is the anchorman at Ch 4.

  • Wow, thanks for uploading, it was neat to see old Irv, lol. I was 7 in 1985.

  • i bet the kids were like whooo no school LOL

  • I worked at Tops too during this time, Maple/N. Forest store.

  • Great stuff, I was 8 years old and my father worked at TOPS Markets...took him 3 hours to get home..usually a 15 minute ride down Elmwood Ave...reason we moved to Florida

  • lol i was only 2 years old at that time

  • Neat way to start a Newscast during A Snowstorm.

  • 1977 was the worst blizzard known to man.

  • Was,nt there a blizzard in 1985 too?

  • There sure was, but not as devastating as the Blizzard of '77. There was no food shortage, or people trapped in their vehicles for days.

  • I hear ya there and not to mention 9 of the 29 deaths were,nt people who froze to death in their cars.

  • Aye...only the likes of an adult yhetti or a seasoned buffalonian could survive it's wrath !

  • THAT was terrific!~ I wish we could see the entire report!! (although I too thought it was from '77)

  • 1985??

  • Yes , Jan, 1985....The "Have a Six Pack and watch Ch.7 " Blizzard. Rest in Peace Jimmy Griffin !!!!

  • We love you Irv Weinstein!!!!

  • This footage is from the Blizzard of 85-jan 85

to be exact. The Introduction was used by Chan 7 Eyewit News in the 80's and this is the only Blizzard that occured in the 80's in Buffalo. Of note 1977, 1985, 1993, 2001 all blizzard years in Buffalo- every 8 years 2009 next?

  • 2001 was just a plain old lake effect storm, it was never classified as a blizzard like the other years were.

  • Were you in a coma during that storm, it might not have been officially a blizzard but my god just a plain lake effect storm. There was about 4 feet of snow on the ground.

  • bills win what. this pats fan is happy that the pats won it in 01-03-04. but fear not. they never gave me a penny of there millions that they make and have. anyway this winter, 09 10- plz make some snow vids, i love lake snow storms.

  • Is this the famous Blizzard of '77?

  • what is the abc news advisory service?

  • and do you have any more closed-circuit stuff from the networks

  • Sorry. Whats posted is what I got.

  • I wonder if this ABC Closed Circuit feed with footage from a Buffalo, New York evening news telecast was used for staff/production/affiliate meetings or something like that.

  • It's Likely that was the case. It was kind of sloppily added in the middle of a KABC Los Angeles videotape transcript.
