Yup didn't work foe me either and I feel that it set me back from my hair length goal. Once I stopped using the tangle teezer I have finally noticed some growth on my hair. I was using the tangle teezer for months and I kept wondering why my hair was not growing as fast as it was before, well now I know.
I use the tangle teezer every 3 days, and I have to say I love it. I have 24" medium thick hair, 2b/c. First time I used it, it took me 10 seconds and I lost 4 hairs (yes, I counted) instead of 30 as usual. I would not use it on wet, or damp hair though, but I never touch my hair until it is completely dry either. It does ruin my waves like any other brush will, so that's the only reason I don't use it every day. I would recommend it, but I guess it does not work the same for everyone.
You just saved me some money! Was gonna get this, but I just got my hair right from all the breakage. Can't afford to risk it. Thanks for your honesty!
Yea I too am a tangle teezer victim. I followed all the directions used with water and conditioner. I had breakage and short sections at the top of my head. I have several tiny hairs in the tangle teezer. Yea!! this is not for everybody.
Hey Natural Ladies, I've tried the the tangle teezer and the deman, my favorite brush is my little round shampoo brush I bought for 99cents at my local beauty supply store, I love it. best buy ever!!! No breakage!!!
I know I'm super late with this comment but I have heard this from other users as well and it definitely has deterred me from buying one and I really like the frames of your glasses!!!
Well, there is a reason the ad didn't use black girls with natural hair. It is always a tell tale sign when an ad only uses black girls with weaves or Type 3 hair.
I haven't used it but I believe you! The sound it makes going thru the hair sends chills down my spine! But then again the hair in the teezer could of been shed hair since the teeth r closer together. You know ur hair so like I said, I belive you.. I will not be purchasing one. Sticking to my wide tooth comb. No problem detangling!
I haven't tried the Tangle Tweezer, but I did switch from using that style wide tooth comb. It also caused snags and breakage. I now use only the shower comb, and I've notice a huge difference. :)
I was reading about the TT and came across a post from them on their facebook page. A woman had posted directly to the page describing the tangle teezer having shredded her hair and now she has to cut off 2 inches of her natural hair. Their response: Tangle Teezer- For this type of hair we recommend these haircare guidelines: Do not use on dry hair, use conditioner, detangle initially with fingers to loosen tightened curls and be gentle when using the Teezer."
Yeah, the tangle teezer broke my hair off, too. I was NOT impressed! So, it is a wide-tooth comb and the Denman for me. And even with the Denman, I have to be careful of breakage!
@bowsweetie I'm surprised they took it back. Usually with hair tools or used hair products you can't return them for hygiene purposes. Regarding your hair do you have fine strands? That can be a cause.
Yeah, I went on CurlyNikki's website and she said that it RIPPED APART her ends. So I was like, yeah I'm not buying that. I detangle my hair once a week with a wide tooth comb, right after I co-wash and deep condition, and I'm comfortable with that.
Hi there, lovely lady. I'm new to this whole hair community so maybe I'm late, but have you tried the Ouidad detangler? It's a massive double rowed comb that's been absolutely amazing for my hair. It's pretty awesome on wet or dry hair.
@luciaSil76 Hi! I've heard of it but I think I'm gonna stick to using my fingers and a wide tooth comb. I now hear it's way better on the hair than the tangle teezer though
I have the "TT" and i only used it once which was last week, and I alos combed my hair first BEFORE i used it and some hairs did come out when i was using te "TT" but i didnt really look to see if they were small hairs or nmot, when I wash my hair this sat. im going to see if i have lil' hairs coming out or not ina section on my hair, and if i do that thing is staying away from hair! i threw the box away so i cant return it if i decided to, but thanks for the info girly.
@VanessaMichelle23 Your welcome, I wasn't paying attention at first either. I'm glad I finally did though, let me know if you start to notice breakage next time you use it
I saw a post that Curly Nikki and she said she had a significant amount of split ends from using the tangled teaser. I was going on ppls pages and asking them if they noticed the same thing too. (persons that did the review like a month ago.) I think a lot of times people do reviews and they say they like/love a product, they they move on to something else but they dont come back to say why they stopped using a product. But thanks for the heads up on the TT.
@solidice242 No problem. But yeah I noticed that a lot of people who reviewed the tangle teezer used it once or twice and they all focused on how well it detangled, rather than the effect it was having on the health of their hair
Girl I wondered about that thang. I wanted to love it even before I bought it. Thanks for shedding useful information about that product. We have very similar hair.
Wide tooth comb? Why?

I wanted one too, but it looked scary, lol! I don't think my 4c hair will take it.

I'm glad I never bought this thing smh. I don't want to try that denman brush thing either cause it looks even more damaging.

maybe thats why you had so much breakage. You shouldn't use the tangle teaser your hair when its wet, thats when you hair is most fragile
Ar9210 2 months ago
@Ar9210 My hair wasn't fully wet, it was damp. I personally get less breakage from detangling on damp hair
