the only reason your tongue is THAT SWOLLEN IS BECAUSE you got them done bothe at the same time that s the only reason why if you didnt get them both at the same time if you didnt get them at the same time your tongue wouldnt be that swollen not to offend you just my oppinyin
@TorynTYRANT it took twice as long actually. the skin between both of them kept pinching together and it was getting irritated. id say about a month and a half before it felt almost normal then i removed the one in the back since it was still pinching me.
@i4BiA I just got mine done a week ago my swelling lasted 4 days and the pain lasted the same to get it pierced doesn't hurt till about 4-5 hours after it's done. But keep in mind it may be different for u. When the piercer put in the bar after the needle it was a pinch but nothing big. Just keep cleaning with salt water that's all you need. 1 tablespoon per 8 ounces.
One time, this girl with a tongue piercing gave me and my friend fellatio and we both EXPLODED on her tongue. A few days later her tongue swelled up really huge. She thought it was the piercing, so she went to the Doctor and found out it wasn't the piercing... it was AIDS. AIDS in her tongue. True story.

It depends on the person:P I had my tounge pierced two weeks ago, and it didn't hurt so much, I just got a little shocked . You should only pierce your tounge if you reeeeally want to, or else you're just going to take it out the next day. The reason is because your tongue gets really big and soar, you cant eat solide food because you cant chew it, only eat food or drinks like soup and yoghurt and waking up in the morning is the worst! I never use painkillers, but in this case I did.

I've had my pierced for almost 5 years and When I got it done, I did everything they tell you not to do like eat a cheeseburger or drink a beer lol It did taste funny to me and I had the yellowish green goo..looked gross but less than a week went by and I could taste my food normally but I didn't really get swelling cuz I was always sucking on my tongue as if I had candy in my mouth and it healed twice as fast.

Either way I got free cold drinks all night long.

@AnimeCrazedd well if youre 14 highschool is just beginning. i would advise you to wait because you still are young, and i dont know many shops at all that would even pierce you at that age even with parental consent. tongue piercings are nothing like earrings though they require a lot of care during the healing process. our parents are pretty much set in their ways and not much can be done to change their minds. i just went out and did mine when i turned 18.
was your speech completely incomprehensible? I really want to get my tongue pierced with just one ring and still be able to work and such and not notify the world that I have one (parents,..its my choice, but i'd rather like to keep nagging to a minimum.) @Chitowngoon14 the piercer didnt warn me that it had to be pierced really close to the edge of my tongue. the ball kept hitting the back of my front bottom teeth. it was so close that acrylic or metal balls it killed. i do not have any tongue rings anymore because of it. and the gum line dosent grow back either :[

the first time i tried piercing my lip it hurt so much i pulled the thing out,, and i got a small infection i put baking soda for about a week and then it went away the second time i steralized the needle and piercied it all the way in but pulled it out to put the piercing and then i wusnt able to put it back in :P i would only do it again if i went to a professional :)

@Chitowngoon14 the piercer didnt warn me that it had to be pierced really close to the edge of my tongue. the ball kept hitting the back of my front bottom teeth. it was so close that acrylic or metal balls it killed. i do not have any tongue rings anymore because of it. and the gum line dosent grow back either :[

the first time i tried piercing my lip it hurt so much i pulled the thing out,, and i got a small infection i put baking soda for about a week and then it went away the second time i steralized the needle and piercied it all the way in but pulled it out to put the piercing and then i wusnt able to put it back in :P i would only do it again if i went to a professional :)

@RedPopIceCream yea i would od it professionally... they tell you to eat soft things and watch what you eat. later that day i was eating fries and cheese steaks. and i changed the ring the next day... it doesn't hurt either. but then i had to take it out, for work and stuff and i let it close up, and i tried doin it myself again after about 6 months, and it hurt sooooooo bad.. so i would say get it done professionally for sure

@Carla4ya2 takeing it out wont help at all either way your tongue is going to have to heal. some bleeding is normal.

my husband got that done, and his tounge swelled up so bad, that the top piercing, the bottom ball grew into his tounge. he had to get it pushed back out at the tattoo shop, he said it was horrible!!
