  • 19 people are NOT the ones....

  • This is my favorite Husker Du song. Classic Bob.

  • That stache is a husker don't,

if only he had used it's powers for good...

    instead of evil.

  • Perhaps the best example of their ability to knock a balls-out pop song out of the park, with apologies to Makes No Sense At All.

  • Happy New Year 2012. This song is fucking awesome.

  • fucking epic......another lost and underrated gem from the 80's....but when you know, you know...which is just how I like it....

  • Comment removed

  • RIP Hüsker Dü, I wish Bob and Grant would do a tour but it looks like that is never going to happen now.

  • haha i didn't know luigi was in a band.

  • I enjoy this song

  • fucking classic

  • Este som é de demais....showwww.....great!!!

  • I think The Band name is cool.

  • Greg Norton and their mustache.*--*

  • Bod Mould you are a total genius.

  • Best band ever!!!

  • This song was on a disc of selected artists. Only worth listening to as best I can recall. It was mid 80's. Hated school, work, relationships, would come home and play this song 5-6 times at ear ringing level and feel a bit better. I thought at the time the song had to do with someone slowly accepting Jesus as his/her savior. Never looked up the lyrics. Guess I like my own version too much.

  • muito bom!

  • Transitioning from Disco and what was also popular Hair Metal bands, bands like Husker Du and the Pixies didnt get any air play because it wasnt considered main stream popular, having spent 4 years at Univ of Michigan, a melting pot of influences all over the world, bands like this were heard at bars, dorm rooms etc...its too bad on the people that missed out, although the music is timeless, go back and listen.

  • thanks for posting it! this band is great!

  • I played this to death when I played Saint's Row

  • That was MUSIC. You'll not find such band anymore.

  • watch?v=QBnguCckYBo

  • Dat stache

  • Oh man, I love this song beyond any reason.

  • 18 people couldn't be the one

  • haha kick ass, glad i starting liking R.E.M. or else i would never knew this band or other kick ass one like the Violent Femmes!!!!

  • Warehouse was NOT underrated - numerous critics gave it top LP awards in '87 - had ZERO commercial impact but those who knew - knew.

  • @leftdust Best way to be if you ask me nothing destroys a band like huge commercial success. Look at the minutemen best band ever in my opinion and they got no notice.

  • I get tired of the Bob-Grant feud. I just wanted Bob to shut up about Husker Du all the way through SEE A LITTLE LIGHT. He ought to be thankful that he got to be in a band with Grant Hart, just as Grant Hart should be thankful he got to be in a band with Bob Mould. We'll probably never see the Huskers together again, but it's a damn shame that that's how it is. They're better together.

  • @deeeecraig2 Looking on artistic condition of Grant, maybe its better that we wont see them again.

  • @drhans1 I think Grant still does some great stuff but he looks about 70 and is missing most of his teeth... sad.

  • @kingjojothegreat Yeah, You definitely right about his look. I think about his artistic condition like this because of youtube video i've seen. It was solo version of green eyes in some kind of small bar. I wish him best anyway

  • Great song, great band...

  • grant hart should have been the drummer for nirvana, because nirvana has alot of long brown hair drummers

  • .......ok?

  • thats a fantastic reason..

  • It doesn't get much better than Husker Du. This song simply ROCKS!!!

  • fucking masterpiece

  • Dead right perfect song!

  • Please post more Husker Du !!!!

I grew up on this stuff.

Saw them in '84 opening up for Minutemen & Black Flag at Casa De La Raza in Santa Barbara.

  • THE EVOLUTION OF THE ALTERNATIVE ROCK (GRUNGE,ETC,ETC)OR WHATEVER YOU WANT TO CALL

    HUSKER DU - R.E.M. - PIXIES - NIRVANA

    i think so.

  • remove REM, The Pixies and Nirvana

put in The Replacements and Fugazi instead and you've got the big three that paved the way to the alternative revolution of the 90's.

  • ..but even so you are leaving out 'alternative' founding fathers such as Meat Puppets, Sonic Youth, Dinosaur, etc. my point is its not a hand full of artists rather many bands that made independent music respected

  • is this stuff from the 70's or 80's?

  • This song is from 1987.

  • 70's??? dude seriously go back to your cave

  • @jrd615 lead singers from my town

  • husker duuuuu ( do u remember ) kick fucken ass !!

  • I love this song, I just wish Greg was higher up in the mix!

  • i love husker du i wish they were still together

  • i've always thought this song would be suuuuuch a ripper if it were played faster

  • what a brilliant song

  • yeah man killing joke is really weird and cool.

  • ELSKER!

  • Nirvana was obviously influenced by Husker Du, Pixies and Killing Joke.

  • You're correct, but the Pixies were also influenced by Husker Du. Don't know a thing about Killing Joke.

  • Yep. I can believe that Husker Du influenced The Pixies as well as Nirvana. Husker Du do greatly predate both The Pixies and Nirvana. I heard Kurt Cobain mention somewhere that "Come AsYou Are" was influenced by the song "80's" from the English hardcore Punk band Killing Joke. Back to more H.D. related news: Bob Mould from Husker Du would later form a band called Sugar in the early 90's before going solo again.

  • I will check out some of the Killing Joke stuff. The name sounds familiar, but I don't know any of their stuff.

Yes, I remember Sugar from their videos on MTV way back in the early 90s (back when MTV actually played music). I haven't heard Sugar in a very long time, but I remember them being alot poppier and softer than Husker Du.

  • Especially since when Black Francis and Joey Santiago of the Pixies were looking for a bassist to complete the line-up they stipulated someone into "Husker Du and Peter, Paul and Mary".

  • Totally original band; great melody, lyrics, punk rock mixed with heartfelt songwriting. Legends! Not to mention one of the loudest bands ever.

  • What a weird name! I mean, as a Norwegian it just seem so weird. xD

  • I means I will remember in norwegian

  • Of course I know, I am Norwegian. Besides, it means "Do you remember" xD

  • I love the fact that they put the umlauts on the "u"'s, it does actually almost sound like the norwegian pronounciation!

    Heia Norge ;)

  • It's the name of a children's memory game. That's where they got it. They simply liked the sound of it.

  • If you can't hear the similarity between Husker Du and Nirvana then you're clearly deaf, Nirvana definitely owe alot to them.

  • You are right, and I was going to comment about thar. The fact that Nirvana became this worldwide act, while Husker Du stayed almost at a cult band level is really unfair. Hair metal kept burried lots of good bands like this one back in the 80's, and when people realized that it was crap, enter Husker Du II (Nirvana)

  • Well according to Kurt himself, Nirvana wouldn't exist without Husker Du, so that should tell you something. Listen to Metal Cirus and Zen Arcade, when these guys started melding thrashing hard rock and punk with melody. Something that would make Nirvana famous.

  • Oh god, this songs so perfect. I'm a big fan of Husker, and this is hella different from their old stuff. But any Husker Du is gold

  • I don't believe I like so much something so gay...hahaha...just a (homophobic) joke. Hüsker Dü Rocks!!!

  • And I don't eve nknow what I'm hiding for.. That is the best fucking bridge melody ever.. it's so great it could be the chorus.

  • Yeah man - Nirvana owes their career to Husker.

  • Zen Arcade was the best album of the '80s

  • The guitar sound on this is just awesome. It's abrasive but also melodic. Perfect. Makes a lot of modern alt rock sound so pissy and weak.

  • How cool is Bob Mould? He wrote the theme from "Daily Show" AND wrote scripts for World Championship Wrestling. Ultimate cool. Plus this tune has the most raging guitar solo in the entire DECADE. I remember the 80's, they gave me a headache. Blissful migraine. Recurring dreams. Dreams recurring.

  • beautiful shit

  • there i was saturday morning with hangover oneo f the channels had rock vids of college bands low and behold on comes this video i was sold had to have everything these guys put out and lucky me now i live hour from dc get to see bob whenever the hell i fell like it. Hail Satan!

  • great stuff.love this group.copper blue by sugar is classic in my opinion too.

  • great band!!!!!

  • hey aint this in saints row. its a good song, but what this he say about a dog at the start?

  • i think it might be door?

  • WOOT. Greg Norton lives in my city. Red Wing, MN REPRESENT!!!

  • Hey, sarahewright9, go, and get the hell out. Du crushes Crue in every way except amount of drugs injested.

    no seriously.

  • sarahewright9 - hey, when you grow up you can always come back and do the du.

  • Dear sarahewright9,

You can have your Motley Crue. At least Husker Du is a foreign phrase and not an intentional misspelling. Sheesh.

    "Love,"

    thegorillasnake

  • Husker Du is easily one of the most underrated and underappreciated bands in the history of music

  • @CaptainScruffyBeard I think that Husker Du are rightly well regarded and appreciated. People seem to really like them.

  • @CaptainScruffyBeard Actually, no they're not. They're easily one of the most renowned, appreciated, and respected bands in the last 30 years of rock music, no thanks to their enduring appeal, compelling history, and ridiculously huge catalog of enduring music.

  • @prinznevsky Aside from my father and uncles, the only people I've heard talk about Hüsker Dü are people who like other SST bands. I've never met someone who randomly likes Hüsker. I wish more people did, but in my experience, it's not the case.

  • @Botulizard i skateboard to this song.

  • I applaud Snidely Whiplash Jr.'s career choice.

  • im into alot of bands who are influenced by this band but this is the first time really listening to them. and they dont sound much like the bands im ito but they sound like joy division mixed with the stanglers to me.

  • there i say the greatest band from Minnesota!!!

  • I remember these guys from the eighties! Wow, I remember making fun of the one guys mustache.I saw them on the tonight show or one of those long long ago.Good song.

  • ive never heard of this band b4

  • "revolution starts at home,in front of the bathroom mirror".

    BoB Mould.

  • that moustache... is the coolest thing i have ever seen

  • how r they emo?

  • listen to the lyrics ; )

  • yea i know.......

    but they're not emo

  • yeah ... ok, but theyre kinda "sensitive", arent they?

  • so?

my chemical romance is more sensitive and they're not emo

  • sensitive or just whiny? : D

  • my chemical romance arn't emo?? wtf! possibly the stupidist thing i've heard in this life time

  • Great song. A glimpse into Bob's solo career..

  • Where are they from?

I don't know them, but the name is danish, so i just wondered? ^^

  • They're from Minnesota.

  • Husker Du

so sad... They were greater than the usual suspects.

  • seen bob 2 times filmore frisco and 930 club dc all i can say is two totaly different and awesome shows how can one man be so friggin awesome love him. Hail Satan!

  • muy buena cancion

  • production quality on the album takes away from the songs...

still great.. but what happened to the bass in the mix? did they mix it on computer headphones?

  • This album was produced by Bob Mould (and Grant Hart) and a lot of Bob Mould albums from this period were just heavy on the treble (especially the Sugar albums from the early nineties). However, you can definitely hear the bass on Mould's latest solo album, District Line. :-)

  • If it was mixed on computer headphones the bass would be too heavy on other systems as it's generally weak on smaller headphones and computer speakers.

  • abso fucking lutely.

a classic song, if it sounded as raw as should do i would love it even more.

  • Why are you looking at a Husker Du video then, bot? haha

  • Warehouse is so fucking underrated. This is a great song

  • Aquí!

  • NO!!!!!!

  • HUSKER DU HOORAY

  • Heh. I just realized They Might Be Giants were pretty much a complete clone of Husker.

  • not that old, husker rock"ed"

  • old skate music...

  • met bob once and hes an ok guy. Husker Du are the band though....awesome!!!!!

  • My best friends uncle is the drummer in this band grant hart.

  • It is Hüsker Dü not husker du

  • Give this guy a biscuit!

  • आप मुझे खुशी में मेरे पैंट , लिंग शिश्न

i no kno how to speak this in anglish but i spek in hindi

    du the du!

  • Hehehe, I`m from Norway and Husker Du is my alltime favorite band.

Husker du means ``Do you remember`` in norwegian and danish. Huker du also got an old song named Do you remember. Yes, it was also a boardgame and the band is from Minneapolis where there are a lot of people with scandinavian (espacially norwegian) ancestry.

  • norwegians are gay

  • Were this true, they wouldn't have a stable population.

  • wrong, norwegia is the leading country in african adoption

  • Could you point out "Norwegia" on a map, please?

  • its in your asshole, along with those africans

  • I'm sorry, but the correct reply would be "no", because Norwegians are from Norway, nor "Norwegia". Please try again next time!

  • wow! you have a sharp bullshit detector now dont you faggot?! did you have to wikipedia that fun fact?

  • No, I had the fact that I'm not a fucking retard.

  • you were right about the norwegia thing, but you cant deny that youre a dumb piece of shit, anybody can tell you that

  • That's my cue to leave you to your own devices. I'll just finish this off with a bit of advice to you: If you ever with to leave Puerto Rico and move to the states, the Ozarks would be full of stupid hillbillies that'd find your intelligence on par with their own.

  • oh yeah moving to the states is a top priority for me right now, i cant wait to be welcome by all the open minded intelligent people of north america, the graceful president, the fabulous health care and the culture of consumerism

  • Manuel, you already live in the States.

  • wrong, i live in a commonwealth of the states, we have our own laws and our own culture, this is not the US to me in the context that i meant, not in a political or geographic context

  • Why do you think we are so prejudiced here in the States? I live in New Jersey, and there are literally TONS of Puerto Ricans here. I've got many friends who are full-blooded or partially Puerto Rican.

  • yeah, i have an aunt in jersey, everybody is prejudiced really, whats funny is that the US got stuck with the prejudice of being the most prejudiced, but in a country with so many mixed cultures thats all you can expect, and yes the US is up there with the most racist countries, theres no denying that

  • Well, you can look at a nations like Israel or Zimbabwe, where people are denied basic liberties like land ownership based on their ethnicity.

The US is not nearly as bad as those kinds of "apartheid" nations as far as racism is concerned.

Don't listen to people that say that white Americans are all a bunch of racists. Usually, the people that say things like that are Canadians or Europeans who want to paint their own nations in a good light by knocking Americans.

  • By the way, your aunt doesn't happen to live in Perth Amboy, does she?

  • im saying lets be honest, politically the white americans do have their ways of opressing other cultures in a completely democratic form, and the south has a completely heinous reputation because of so called "rednecks" or whatever and the racist organizations, thats all i got to say, im done with this for now

and i honestly dont know what part of jersey my aunt lives in hahaha, :) take care

  • Well then, be done with it.

But don't stereotype us all as one thing or another. Ignorance comes in many forms.

  • the most prejudiced country is "norwegia" isn't it?

  • there is no norwegia, you are a retard

  • "wrong, norwegia is the leading country in african adoption"

    That's your own quote dummy!

  • leave it up to a retard to take sarcasm seriously,

by the way, does the fact that i said "norwegia" make it a real country? NO it doesnt. get a life you fucking imbecile

  • wow that was a brilliant joke calling Norway "Norwegia"; hilarious stuff! Obviously I called it Norwegia to make fun of your idiocy, not because I thought that it was an actual country.

  • well sorry that not every sarcastic comment is meant to be hilarious joke, but i sincerely hope that you can get your bitch giggles somewhere else

  • very wise men...

  • lol i think your mean Norway

  • I think you need to learn how to read, go back a few pages!

  • Haha ''Husker du'' means remember you in Danish

A great song by the way

  • Hi, unitedfan10. I'm pretty sure that Husker Du does not mean "Remember You" in Danish. You're close, though. The band got their name from a children's board game named "Husker Du?". It's a memory game and the words mean "Do You Remember?" or "Can You Remember?" in Danish. I know, I had this board game when I was a little girl and I still have it. Just thought I'd let you know. Husker Du is one of my top 5 favorite bands and I go NUTS over Bob Mould, even though I know he's gay!:o)

  • yes it does mean do you remember. pretty sure its a norweigan band and it means the same in norweigan though.

  • No, the band is American.

  • i see, hehe however everyone is saying its danish which isnt the case because the band is actually called hüsker dü and in denmark that word would be spelled husker du

  • It would make sense that they would call themselves a Norwegian name, because I'm pretty sure the area of the US that they came from has alot of people who have Danish, Swedish, and Norwegian ancestry.

  • Yes, many people who like SPAM, SPAM, SPAM, SPAM lol

  • Joder que buenos!!!

  • Can you believe iTunes doesn't have any Husker? Bastards. Great album. Me and the boys from Ralphs playing football at night and messin' with the CB.

  • I do like this track by Husker Du. Anyone recommend anymore of theirs on youtube?

  • they have many great ones "i apologize" "if i told you" "how to skin a cat" "punchdrunk" "celebrated summer" "flip your wig" "you think im scared" "lets go die" "its not funny anymore" "these important years" "makes no sense at all"...there are many more, but if u dont know the band their masterpieces are considered the albums "zen arcade" and "new day rising",though i like almost all of them

  • Buy Zen Arcade!

  • the greatest band ever, oh man what would i give for e REUNION"...?!
