  • i agree.. you could shoot a bit closer 2 the head :D

  • good video but not very good shot...

  • I caught 2 bulls about the size of yours 30 miles out off of Dana Landing in San Diego and just into Mexico waters. We were all ready to jump in and shoot them but we spotted a "dolphin" just before getting in at our kelp. The "dolphin" turned out to be a 10+ footer mako. We didnt get in the water and I caught my 2 fish with a fishing pole. The sheild is a good idea. Oh, and you should have seen the bite marks on the side of the dead sealion that we saw on the way in. They were large.

  • Nice catch and cool story too. Thanks for the great comment Kirby!

  • miodios i see you have been upclose and personel with a mako too..pound for pound the baddest animal on the planet.. ihad a 400 lb mako devour a 160 plus pound yft and he started to circle the boat so we planted a flying gaff in his dorsal while he was as GREEN as KERMIT THE FROG!!!! needless to say it was pretty exciting...and yes we ate every ounce of that fish..

  • u looked disgusting when u were joking about shagging the fish on the surface, disrespectful.

  • Yeah.. Brian was excited when he nailed that big bull!

  • Hey man thanks for the comment! The shark shield is about $500. We wear the shark shield out there to keep the makos away from us and our catch.

  • Hey man, awesome video. I speared myself a 20 pound mahi on the way to San Clemente this summer also. The dorado this year were nuts... I noticed that you had one of those electrical field generating devices for warding off sharks around your ankle and I was curious how much it cost and why you feel like you need it- particularly when blue water hunting where great whites aren't a risk...

  • Good fish and video. How heavy was it?

  • thanks, it was 26 pounds.

  • great video i know what is it feel to spear a dorado were do you catch it?

  • thanks!

Spearfishing off S. California Coast. 30 miles out from Dana Point Harbor on are way to San Clemente Island.

  • perfecto

  • kick ass-- great use of music

  • Thank you

  • ontus, great to see this video up again (but this time with corrected links to your website, which is still NOT up i take it?) lol

  • Thanks, I'll be working on my web sit this week. You know how it is... never enough time.
