Experienced divers carry several small pieces of coral or shells and when a fish is reluctant to come into spear range, rubbing or clicking draws them closer. Throwing up sand also will bring a fish closer and helps to camouflage the diver. Contact with coral should be avoided as this may damage the reef. Blue water divers will float on the surface 100 yards from their boat and continue to rap a dive knife or a softer object against their spear gun until a big one comes to investigate.
That was some excellent selection! I loved it that you were screwing around with the jelly and all the sudden the school came by, next second the bull was yours! Nice work :)
IN TEXAS WE GOTTA GO ATLEAST 60 MILES OUT TO GET A DECENT WARSAW!!!THEY ARE ALL OVER EVERY OIL RIG SHOOTING EVERYTHING GOOD...I DONT LIKE IT EITHER BUT I WISH I WAS DOING IT TOO..AS FAR AS THE PEOPLE THOUGH.. I 'VE TALKED TO SEVERAL S- FISHMAN AND THEY ARE ALL EAGER TO SHARE THEIR EXPIERIENCES AND IN GENERAL JUST NICER PEOPLE THAN US OLD ROD AND REELERS!!!! course when the gulf of mexico is your private aquarium .. it's hard not to be happy!!!
spearfishing is such a rush! Anybody can stay in the safety of the boat and talk smack! Give it a try the youll get a whole new meaning for the word life
lepistes07 & teknoguitar <--- lol fucking faggets both of them enough said, hey bro that was a nice shot I have yet to try blue water hunter though my gun is specially for that RA900 dual 20mm bands, my friends and I plan to catch a school of mahi mahi here in mi,FL and just jump in after them.
awesome comeback about the "inasant" dolphin you speared(dapigu48)....for a 3rd world /grade education he sure is opinonated or better yet opynunatud....
That´s a sure!!Most of portugal is coast, and we have the atlantic and mediterran sea very near, soo we have the luckie to have most of the species to fish, and make it together with the beautifful weather, that´s a fucking paradise....i´m very luckie guy!!! just tried!!
that shot was fine , people on here are back seat divers i guess youd call em , no 1 even commented on what a nice pack of fish that was , they all looked 15 or bigger
I caught 2 bulls about the size of yours 30 miles out off of Dana Landing in San Diego and just into Mexico waters. We were all ready to jump in and shoot them but we spotted a "dolphin" just before getting in at our kelp. The "dolphin" turned out to be a 10+ footer mako. We didnt get in the water and I caught my 2 fish with a fishing pole. The sheild is a good idea. Oh, and you should have seen the bite marks on the side of the dead sealion that we saw on the way in. They were large.
miodios i see you have been upclose and personel with a mako too..pound for pound the baddest animal on the planet.. ihad a 400 lb mako devour a 160 plus pound yft and he started to circle the boat so we planted a flying gaff in his dorsal while he was as GREEN as KERMIT THE FROG!!!! needless to say it was pretty exciting...and yes we ate every ounce of that fish..
Hey man, awesome video. I speared myself a 20 pound mahi on the way to San Clemente this summer also. The dorado this year were nuts... I noticed that you had one of those electrical field generating devices for warding off sharks around your ankle and I was curious how much it cost and why you feel like you need it- particularly when blue water hunting where great whites aren't a risk...
nice bull good job u got the big one the other 2 bulls were bit smaller i recon
