  • Everybody knows how old are Puppini? I have bet with my girlfriend ;)

  • SWEET!

  • In my school we sing that song XP BOOGIE WOOGIE BUGLE BOY....FROM COMPANY B!

  • AAAHHH!! THEY DESTROYED THE SONG.

  • They'll never be the same as the original (what is?) but a good remake, nevertheless. I love how people are looking into older music and getting into it. C:

  • cant wait to hear them sing nine beats to the bar !!!

  • they need to slow it down, its just too fast for me

  • i loveim

  • i dont like their phrasing

  • Tempo...ladies....tempo!!!

  • It's pretty cool, but I wish it wasn't so fast you know? Peace.

  • Excellent video clip

  • kik ass tune - kik ass gals............

  • Cute video, but you should check out the Honeybee Trio version of this tune. The singing is also great, but the Honeybee girls are only 14/15 years old!

  • where can i find their cd?! they sound so AMAZING!

  • I love their retro quality (and talent).

  • I like their singing but they really needed to switch to decaf for this song

  • 4/5 liked it very much!

  • I think this version is too fast... No one else like Andrew Sisters

  • Great! I always loved the Morecambe & Wise version - they did it with Leonard Rossiter!

  • daymn, yuhuuuuuu, dababadbadbadbadbadbad

  • Well, it's a tad bit too fast and they don't have quite the swing like the Andrew Sisters with this song but you can't make everything better than the original, can you? Nevertheless, there's plenty of songs by the Puppinis that really got "it".

  • I'm sure they have lots of talent, but they're singing so damned fast you can't understand a word of it.

  • I like the original version much better, no one will ever touch the Andrews Sisters.

  • the chipmunks..pinky and perky

  • Greeeaaat ! love it !

  • I think I'm in LOVE!

  • nope, don't like it

  • i love especially Stephanie O'Brien. She's o attractive!!

  • I like the Puppini sisters but this definitely isn't their best... Some songs do sound more alive when you sing them faster but they've lost some of the meaning of the song...the original is more affectionate as well as jolly.

  • the original BWBB is the only version ive heard that has class and style. it's a song that just can't be covered imo. i think all covers (from bette to the puppinis) sound quite cheap and tacky.

  • They're fabulous. I never thought there will ever be a group in this present age who will take interest in reviving old songs almost exactly as they were sang in their respective circa.

  • The only problem I have with it is that this YouTube clip of it keeps skipping.

  • Hi Vince,

Sorry about the skips - this vid is the original edit, not the final draft released by the record company, which you can find elsewhere on youtube. And thanks for defending the ladies, I think they're excellent musicians and that the arrangement they wrote for the song makes me wanna dance.

  • As a professional musician, I get tired of people complaining and saying things like "I like the original better" or "It's too fast". It's music! It's performed well! Stop being so negative. The lyrics are still understandable. Come on!

  • Vincenorman, perhaps people are saying it is too fast because, have a guess - yes too fast. Give that man a cigar. Just doesn't work sang this fast. It is a matter of taste. The music still works. For the record I like these sisters, though I am starting to suspect they aren't related.

  • no they arnt related ^^

  • No, Sir. I don't like it!

way too fast. there are even a few Andrews Sisters versions i don't like. the best version is the original 1941 studio version. (it's 2:28 long)

  • The video is really cute, but this is one of my favorite Andrew Sisters songs and I agree that's too fast, but the harmonies are down pat and it's still fun to listen to.

  • good but way way too fast

  • it really has lost the word definition through being faster, the point of the song and part of its appeal is to get you moving and i am not impressed with the bugeling, and the booing, it really i thing ruins the song

  • I have to agree, it's interesting, but faster does not make better: just because you can play something fast does mean you can play it well, it just means that you've learned how to make mistakes.

  • this is entirely too fast -- doesn't even sound like they are completing their words. Does not sound good at all!! Too choppy

  • I love this!

  • This is sung way too fast. You can't even hear what the lyrics are. It's over way too quick too. Sung and performed at that speed destroys the feeling and the rhythm. No, I'll stick to the Andrews Sisters version thanks.

  • Very nice! i like that this kind of stuff is not forgotten, nor will it ever be with lovely ladies like this upholding the tradition!

  • They're very good-but please do not compare them to the Andrew Sisters. The Andrew Sisters had true presents. When they sang you had to listen and watch. These girls are good but no where near the Andrew Sisters.

  • As opposed to fake presents?

    I think you mean "presence."

  • I absolutely meant to say presence not presents. But either way the Andres Sisters were presents to the world with all their presence.

  • i liked it, and i like this song way better fast. i'm used to it sang fast and when i listened to the andrew sisters they were almost too slow for me! but i think they cut their words to short.

  • They're BRILLIANT!

  • *they're

  • There singing this way to fast :(

  • I Like this video. it's really cute and funny.

  • I'm singing this song for Women's Chorus. Its amazing. But the Soprano part makes you want to faint,

  • absolutely fantastic. I love this so much.

  • These girls are great....thank God the younger generation are taking an interest in the old classic songs.

  • lol. Amen.

  • If you can get your hands on the 2008 BBC doctumentary "The Andrews Sisters: Queens of the Music Machines," The Puppini Sisters are interviewed...great doctumentary...

    Andrew

  • In my opinion they dont really look like sisters but i like the song! Are they real sister like the andrew sister are?!?

  • Their names are Marcella Puppini, Stephanie O'Brien and Kate Mullins - so no, they're not real sisters. They took the name as a tribute to their heroes: The Andrews Sisters, The Dinning Sisters, The Brox Sisters, The Barry Sisters, etc. But the thing that made them start the band was the movie The Triplets of Belleville, that featured a rather unusual cartoon sister band. They even had Benoit Charest produce their first album - he was the guy that did the music for the movie.

  • NewYorkCityGuy: Everyone is entitled to their opinion, of course, and I respect yours. Just for drill: Don't you think the Puppinis considered that? When they're singing virtually the same notes as a previous version, how can they make it their own? Change keys? Invert the verses? No: they wisely chose to get it exactly right, but speed it up. If there was EVER a group that TRUSTED their material, this is it. Listen to it again. You'll like it. RIP Andrews Sisters.

    Mothra has spoken!

  • I do think it's too fast, it doesn't show off their voices like it might if they took their time through the song. The Andrew Sisters do this song better, I think, but it's hard to beat the original. At any rate, I like the Puppini Sisters a lot and they're great.

  • They have talent, but they obviously don't trust the material that they are singing; otherwise, they would have actually taken the time to sing it instead of running through the song like three bats shot out of hell.

When it comes to "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" stick to the original Andrews Sisters or even Bette Midler.

  • Definately prefer Andrew Sisters, but this is ok.

  • I prefer the andrew sisters. But they are good too !

  • I love these GIRLS!!!

  • I love these girls!

  • I just saw em here in my city. They are amazing.

  • You know, I thought I'd hate this version, but it's actually not bad!

  • Le ho scoperte da un anno.... e non riesco a smettere di ascoltarle!

  • dsduchin: Mothra has received your sympathtetic vibrations and is duly pleased. Thank you and GO GO Puppinis...!!!

  • This is so simply RIDICULOUSLY good. Oh, sorry, didn't mean to countermand the obviously highly intelligent jackoffs that scuffed your performance. Clearly, they are well-versed and know music fundamentals (or intracacies) MUCH more than I. They've sung...Yeah. They've rehearsed for weeks..Yeah. They've put together an intricate and amusing video production...Yeah. Jeez, must've missed it. Forgive me. Andrews Sisters, Rest in Peace. Today is today, knuckleheads. Girls: You are the GOODS! GO!

  • I bow to the great Mothra!

  • absolutely fantabulous!

  • i like only one version of this song and it by the andwers sisters sorry

  • don't mark this as a bad comment!

the one likes the andrew sisters, the other one the puppini's!

    i like both!

    :-)

  • all the normal ones are too slow for this dance I'm doing. this one is just a LITTLE bit too fast lol but I'll take it!!! =D

  • I agree with a lot of the other comments, this is way too fast. I like their red dresses and I like the fact that they are doing these classics. Their harmonies are really tight which is hard to do. They are definitely talented. This just isn't my favorite interpretation of theirs.

  • too fast! the whole "boogie woogie bugle boy" groove gets lost this way :/

  • I'm a great fan of their songs, harmonies and sheer talent. However, I really do think this should have been a little slower. Sorry !

  • God, I love these girls so much. They can sing so well, not to mention their style is wonderful.

  • EXCELLENT!!!! just a bit too fast!!

  • Don't be rude Lena! Yay Puppinis!

  • what?? what did I do??

  • why is it too fast?

  • It isn't. That's the point. It's their interpretation of a great song. Not too fast, not too slow - it's just right for the Puppini Sisters.

  • superb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i love !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • OK girls...I love your music and have two CD's. Now, its time for something NEW! How 'bout it?

  • hay , pero que buena canción que es ésta, las amo, son muy lindas y tienen una bella voz...saludos desde México lindo!!

  • I am obsessed with the Andrews Sisters, Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller and when I found out about these gals... it was like Christmas! They're great!

  • i think that that song is only about a famous trumpet man who had to go to the army, and he was so not for that and now he is the boogie woogie bugle boy of company b...and thats all, not fighting overseas nor pre-war music....its just good music...and i love them.

  • Try listening to these three nearly every day at work for HOURS. They were on the BN store playlist for ages and we all hate them now.

  • It's sad when that happens. I left working in a restaurant last year with a resonant hatred for bepop jazz. It would suck if it were a genre I actually liked to begin with.

  • Ah, these girls are fantastic! I go swing dancing every Saturday, and I love it when our DJ will play some of their versions of the songs (not that the originals aren't great, of course).

  • Love the Puppini Sisters!

    Great job.

  • I just discovered this group and think they´re amazing, to revive this era and musical style in this time and age where everything has to do with sex and drugs, I think they´re doing an awesome job!!!

  • Hate to break it to you, but the music of the 30s and 40s was always packed with sexual innuendo, and rather overt references to drugs. They just did it a bit classier than what you hear on the radio today. This song, however, is as sweet and innocent as it sounds - it's about joining the army and fighting overseas.

  • they can now add a new fan to their list :-)

  • They are my new obsession.

    Seriously.

  • That has NOTHING to do with music of the '50s!!!! How ignorante can you be? That sounds like the pre-war music!!!

  • Easy there, friend. No reason to get so hot under the collar. If you've got some teaching to do, then be cool about it. Not everyone knows about close harmony girl swing bands from the 30s and 40s.

  • I think Kate Mullins will be coming to your house with an axe to grind.

  • All 40s and 50s music was fast apart from the songs that were ment to be fast !!

  • If you think the 50's were boring you dont know about music at all, I studied music from oprea to hip hop and the 50's were the only muisc that had hits with out have sex or drugs in them.. 50's ya wass about war and the music was about living you life and having fun..

  • Actually, much of the music of the '50s was packed with sexual and political innuendo. But that doesn't really apply here because the music of the Puppini Sisters belongs to the '40s. By the time the '50s rolled around, there were hardly any big band orchestras left, let alone three part close harmony combos.

  • A-MEN

  • They're amazing, but I agree. It seems like they're running just a hair too fast. It's distracting. But they are outstanding musicians to be able to maintain the tight harmony at warp speed like that.

  • It's just the style of the music. :)

  • Damn it !......SLOW DOWN !

  • I don't think that your unusually emphatic request will be heeded by the Puppini Sisters, as they're quite happy with the extra oomph of their arrangement. Like you, I am also a fan of the Andrews Sisters original version. But I wouldn't have posted this one if I didn't like what they've done with it.

  • This girls are awesome, you dont see that any more , men the 50's were awesome ,, keep it up

  • Agreed, but hte 50's where also pretty borring.except korea, the cold war, and drive trought's there wasen't much to do..

  • I loved their voices; I just think they sing this song much too fast though.

  • wow i love this song since i dance on this when i have 8 years ^^

(sorry for the expression i'm french ^^)

  • This is true style!

    Pippettes, you suck!

  • i love this song

is a good version for the song the "the andrews sisters"

  • I'm quite partial to the Andrew Sister's version of this song. This version seems a bit sped up. Still, a really good job!

  • Wow very good and the ladies look lovely too

  • LOVE THEM~! I'm so glad the Noughties is still blessed with good music

  • Simply Wonderful!

  • That is awesome. :)

  • Adorable xx

  • i'm dancing of this song for my dance recital!

    aha, i love it(:

  • Fabulousness... I love the Bette Middler version of this as well. But this is awesomely brilliant. Love the Puppini sisters. <3

  • J'adore, bravo !

  • Woop! i love this band so much

im into the 40s and 50s a lot, and im only 13

  • then you better find some professional help, a shrink or something... haha, just kidding... :) enjoy what ever you like, that´s what life's all about

  • it´s the best group!

  • why have they speeded it up like that? ruins the whole song.

  • i loooooooooooove that song

  • too fast

  • I have heard the Andrews sisters and I think the Puppinis are better--tighter and more rhythmically adventurous. bill c.

  • Remember seeing this on the BBC when I was in England two years ago. Thats how I was first introduce to them.

  • fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!

  • YOWZA!! Team these girls with the Bill Elliot Swing Orchestra, and who knows what would happen!

  • wow

  • Even though the little cartoon is cute, I don't like this version. I like the Andrews Sisters' version because this one is waaaay too fast! Look up 'Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy The Andrews Sisters' and make up your own mind before you judge!

  • you can call this "eight to the bar" music. search it and decide

  • I just read about the Puppini Sisters on a blog called Modern Marie, and they're lovely! I wish we heard more music like this instead of the more mainstream pop.

  • Agreed man!

  • can i ask the most stupid question in the world and i am not messing here, what do you call this music? i read below swing music is that it? or is there another name for it?

  • Don't worry, I'm sure you know a lot about music I've never heard. There are various forms of swing, this particular number is three part close harmony swing. Have a listen to the Andrews Sisters for the original version. Also give Benny Goodman a try, he was a pioneer of swing music and played with quite a few musicians at once - hence 'big band swing'. Modern bands include Big Bad Voodoo Daddy.

  • Good man i will search up thoose acts, i like all types of music but this one i like a lot, i like the beats the flow and the rythm.

    Thank you

  • At the time this song first came out, it was Pop.

Nowadays, you might call it Swing, Traditional Pop, or Jazz.

  • i see them yesterday in colougne it was awesome

  • I love them!

  • fabulous! great voices, good looking, class and sex appeal! girls of today should try to learn something and teke examples from them...instead of Britney

  • Wonderful!

  • Wonderful!

  • Two stars? C'mon, cheap-skates! After this "elderly gent" who was weaned on The Andrews Sisters-era music, how refreshing that this particular sound is making a come-back. Move on over, Rap, Rock and Hip-Hop, or we'll move on over you!!! Keep 'em comin', girls!!

One of many "swing music" fans

  • j'ai tout simplement! Adorée vote vidéo!

  • Would you still say that if I told you 'Marilyn Manson' doesn't count?

  • love it...

  • Fabulous music, great rhythm, girls gorgeous, the one in the middle is quite cute.

  • Really? I think the one on the left is absolutely gorgeous :-D

  • i liked the new version by the star sisters in the 80's coz it was faster and catchier. here its just exactly like one version of the andrew sisters

  • These girls couldn't hold a candle to the Andrews Sisters.

  • well they are both good and both have a similar style but two different sounds. Both are great groups and should not be compared to much as of the fact that they are both from different eras and back grounds.

Still they both put a good sound on this song. and to more of a point it is not nice to put a candle near some one they might get burnt and we would not like that now would we?

Have a good day and thank you.

And also this is all in my P.O.V. so do not hold a candle to me either.

  • Buen Dicho (well put)Tinymoezzy.

    I'm just big on 'originals'.

I figure, if we already have a great piece of music, don't mess with it if you can't add something new.

    Too many 'clones' out there.

    But that's just me.

    Thanx for your input.

    You are 'Right On'

  • chipmunks maybe...

none of the men i know even come close.

    You should get out more.

  • Get out more? You've probably never even heard of a fraction of the music I listen to.

  • Would you still say that if I told you 'Marilyn Manson' doesn't count?

  • Yes, sir I would.

  • My last question for you is...

Would you make the same comment,

"The Andrews Sisters sound like men".

To a group of American G.I.s during WWII,

who listened to those same voices, and dreamed

of home, sisters, and sweethearts thousand of miles away.

Those voices warmed the hearts of tens of thousands of men of that era both at home,

    and abroad.

  • Yes, sir-ee. Now that your business is done here, go bother someone else.

  • Ahh Come on... admit it, that was fun.

  • Of course it was! Always fun meeting new people :-) Haha.

  • Loveeee them ! Real vintage :D

  • cute, but i was annoyed by certain parts of the arrangement where the notes were way too punched and short. but i'm just picky musically, so don't mind me :P

  • At least I know I'm not the only one who felt that way. Seems everyone I mention that fact to don't even notice it.

  • Greath,funny! Thanks!

  • love this retro remake trend! FUN ...

  • I am loving this retro revolution--The Pipettes sounding like 60's candy girls, Amy Winehouse, soul queen supreme and now these sisters...the forties vibe is adorable and they're pulling it off!

  • Not to forget Duffy! Loving it!
