Actually, as silly as this faked scene is, it's really impossible to say that any of the lemmings died. The last scene of the lemmings is of them swimming around (yeah, still in motion) not far off the shore.. it's quite possible the film crew (who would've been dressed for doing such things) scooped them out of the water and dumped them on the beach before they left the set. (I mean, I doubt any of the filmers were actual sadists.. it's just that any documentation of that sort of thing would..

I am 62 and saw this on TV when I was a little girl. I'm sure my parents had no idea of the effect it would have on me. I was traumatised and had nightmares about it. I still do. You can also notice that when they get pushed off, they try to scurry back up the cliff. Lemmings to NOT jump off the cliffs.
