How do people learn it by ear?

Is it something one picks up after years of lerning music or a perfect pitch thng?

It's definitely not a perfect pitch thing for me at least. It's just trial and error, a few notes at a time.

@munchanime some are born with it... I could play everything i heard since when i was 6, and now I'm composing my own music :) but its something you can definitely learn! :D
