Timed mission? In Damascus? I always suck at these types of things in these games. Is this optional or mandatory?

It's mandatory that you complete a minimum number of side missions, of which there are several different types, so it is not mandatory that you do this particular mission or type at all. I think. I haven't played it in 3 years.

bah, I'm here cos I can't do this, I finish the first target (stealth) and I need to hide always cos the guards always spot me, and seeing this video didn't really help cos I did the same thing (except the guards noticed)!

Well they're definitely not unrelated, but I haven't played the sequel yet so I can't comment directly on how well they recap. Both of the games actually take place in the present / near future with a main character named Desmond who is reliving the memories of his ancestors, and the first one has a very cliff-hanger ending.

I finally got around to playing the game again, I have 2/6 completed. This one was hard, but the best way to complete it, it to kill secretly. Use your stabbing knife and then walk away slowly.

This mission is fucking bullshit. I can't walk anywhere without being watched. The icon is ALWAYS YELLOW, IT NEVER CHANGES. This mission is impossible, and now I can't play the rest of the fucking game, nor do I want to.

Once you climb a View Point the nearest Informers will appear on your map. Then after you talk to the Informer, the targets appear on your map.

what does the icon look like because I have tried most of the icons and none of them were informers.

I haven't played this game in a year (I only rented it in January of 2008). I don't remember what the icons look like, sorry. If you just do every investigation mission, you'll find them eventually either way.

One question how do you get acces to the Rich Distric of Domascus it says memory cannot acces. I have to do climb a view to start invastigating. Do I have to find flags and kill templars?

No, you can complete the whole game without finding any flags or killing any templars.

Yeah, you know how you have a button for High Profile actions? Just walk up to someone in Low Profile and hit the assassinate button. I hope that helps :)

he is by the big building in the alley place in a doorway. if you go to the place where its a market but there is a huge roof over it, turn left and go all the way then look to the right. hes standing there in a door

Yeah, these missions were the most fun, because they did add a challenge. The rest of the "investigations" were way too easy & boring. Interrogating, pick-pocketing, and -- come on now -- *eavesdropping* ?? The whole game should've been this tough. Or at least they should've actually made it a stealth game.
