and find one superior to the other. your beautiful story makes me see what makes our culture beautiful.. the clothes the food and the love especialy the love. Oh and almost forgot the music, love the music but the real music not the bad copies made from western music.
So I want to thank you for bringing a smile and a tear. I love you for it and think you are beautiful and courageous in a way that i'll never be.
wow... Where to begin? First of all I think you have passed this stage in your life and accepted it so that you can speak of it so beautifuly. As why I want to write all this is because I can relate to your story on various points and hope that maybe this video helps people to get where they feel comfortable with their culture and their life outside Iran in particular. I was 9 when we left iran now i'm 20 I came into puberty in this godforsaken country and had a hell of a time adjusting...
@miladd123 ...I had lived in Iran and love my country but we alos pride ourselves in being able adjust into any culture, well thats what i think anyway. The problem for me was balance. At a younger age I was proud of my heritage but also ashamed of the imperfections in it, to have lived half your life in one and then being dropped into another is quite dificult for adolescents, but it also gives a clear view in both cultures. What I didin't have though was enough intellect not to compare them..
I got this video suggested by youtube. and i don't actually know what made me click it. but i am really glad i've watched it. Cause I am a kurd/Iraqi guy. 22 years old. I moved to Holland when i was 15 and i was just like you. i wanted to be like them but somehow i never belonged to them. till i changed back to my own traditions. I think everyone goes through this time of life when moving to another country.
wow, im probably noy the only one who finds this so relevant. my dad immigrated to toronto in 1986. if a white person even said RICE then, i would have had a heart attack lol
