Stress Factor`s Women`s Self Defense class introduction. In this video we explain a few key differences in the male and female bodies when it comes to fighting and we go over some of the primary tools and basic rules ...
@reyedk can you tell me what is the difference between aikijujutsu and aikijitsu? Are they the same thing different i don't understand translate please. Thank you.
i like your far more realistic self-defense/1step choreography here. It is far more realistic and possibly less choreographed than the typical prepare, kiyop ready and finish way seen in TKD and other arts.
Decent selfdefence. I have trained aki and self defence for 8 years now and thats more self defence technique. aki is much more controled but technique was still decent. I would say work on your counter attacks, your punches seem very flaily and uncontrolled. but definately not bad selfdefence.
@RIVOTHEAD13 Any of the arts will work as long as you train hard and consistently. After about 3-4 years your body will react automatically to any threat. After 5-6 years your intuition will warn you, and you will avoid the potential danger zone.
In the few episodes that i have had "on the street " the techniques i used were bastardizations of what i had learnt. The best technique however is to walk away or avoid, and that is easier to do the more you have trained.
wow brother you have it down. Very impresive. I also studied akijutsu for a few years, recognized about half of the stuff you did. It was good to see it at that speed.
@gdzdhfdhd yes, aikido is a derrivative (sp) of aikijitsu. Aikido has taken some of the more 'lethal' techniques out, preferring to inflict only transient/short term pain
lol I actually dont know if this one is right for me, I'm looking for something in self defense but in a non violent way. i would rather use violence as a last resort
ive watched thousands of aiki clips on you tube and this is the first one i have found thats really good and showcases the true art of aikijutsu great job guys, and can i ask who your sensei is please
I would only say that the best way to finish things off is the run the hell out of there. You don't know if the guy has friends hanging around the corner waiting to get in on the action.
Good stuff, but two notes: 1) don't "hold" them in a lock, move past there joints tolerance and break/hyper-extend/dislocate the joint. (2 Once the hitting starts, don't stop until he can't move.
@JumpstyleFreakUp What I meant was how he kept moving from one hold to a better, with his goal being to put him in a lock on the ground. He could have just stopped with the first lock and been done then and there.
Love the speed of the knife defense demonstration. Many people who demonstrate it always do it so slow that it really doesn't seem effective. Although really enjoyed the different variations of techniques for the same scenario if one or the other is not available to you.
True Kempo in it's origins does come from China. Although Kenpo is american being as how it infused Japanese, Chinese, and distinctly American Ideas and styles of fighting. Also, true there is no " Textbook " response in a street fight. The technique i was referring to though is actually in a textbook. From start to finish. It's performed exactly as it's written. Aikijustu is a Japanese martial art. Not Chinese. So Kempos origins in China, not Kenpo's, have no bearing on my previous statement.
This is Aiki in reality, not clinically. All the principles of triangulation, back presssure, and blending are there. If you have never used Aiki in the real world, you cant appreciate this video. Great work protraying what Aikijutsu looks like outside of the dojo. BTW, this is not Aikido, or Aiki Jujitsu, there is a difference in all three. Do some reasearce people.
It look a lot like krav maga, in the set up and execution of techniques, but then again. . . from what arts to they draw knowledge? I agree with rwaggs, in regards to atemi. I would say that it does look like aikijutsu, but sped up and not in a static environment. I've been studying for a couple years, and I bounce. Things work a little differently on the street. Good practical looking representation.
To whomever posted this video, where do you train? I study the same art, though we spell it Aikijutsu. I really like your video's realism as opposed to a lot of the static attack "go with it" crap that I see on youtube. Would be fun to study together sometime.
Aikijutsu is the most interesting martial art i have seen, searching something more complicated and interesting then box? then go aikijitsu, it has punches kicks elbows and knees, throws and locks, some people even teach ground work and so on. I really enjoy aikijitsu, if you like martial arts you have to try aikijitsu, as i have impression that aikijitsu is everything ;)
aikijitsu as it is a bit more complicated then aikido :) at least for me :)
aikijujutsu has nothing to do with punches kicks block or knees. Its from a samurai art coined by Takeda Sokaku. Samurai had no need for punches kicks and blocks they had a sword. If your art is not from Daito Ryu it is not Aiki jujutsu. (not jujitsu or jui jitsu)
Itsumomanabu, a lot of arts hybridize over time. My Aikijutsu dojo draws lineage from Takeda and still practices atemi. We don't live in an era where people carry katanas around, and if you try and subdue the wrong opponent without striking you might find that you wish you had one. So, if this isn't some form of Aikijutsu, what then would you label it?
I feel that when you start adding or taking away from an art you are changing the art. This can confuse new students and give them the wrong impression of the art. Each art is different and beautiful unto itself. It is like taking ballet and hiphop dance and mixing them it is no longer pure ballet. If you study budo history the founder of the art should call it something else when mixed with other systems. out of respect and not to confuse. What this video is is Yoseikan. Nice technique.
Sokaku believed aiki was the pinnacle and very essence of the tradition that he taught, and whether he created aiki himself or just developed it to the next level, he certainly defined it as we now know it.And so I think it's probably safe to say that if it can't be traced directly to Sokaku Takeda through one of his senior students then it's probably safe to say it's not authentic aikijujutsu. Tracing an art through Morihei Ueshiba's Aikido is respectable, but it does not qualify as aikijujutsu
Aikido, Aiki-Jutsu and Aikido are the same family of techniques applied at a different timming and distance of the attack. That is way you will see large similarities between them.

others have said it before me : this is not aikijitsu.
simply because the aiki principle is not succesfully being achieved.
the techniques are aiki techniques, but performed in this way it is more accurate to call it ju-jitsu.
