its a 300 year old song, it still inspires some of us brits and instills a sense of pride, were not perfect but who is, some of us are still traditional and proud to be british even if were not what we used to be but so what i'll still fly my flag outside my house everyday
This is so what the UK is about,a very proud nation that can kick most lesser nations arses if the need arise.Just ask the fing Argies about this.I am a Canadian and this music I love.If you dont like the UK kiss my arse.
Someone should tell the Brits that Brittania hasn't ruled crap for a thousand years. Funny how she put that Irish clover on that b'day hat when everybody knows the mics have always been and still are the peons of that island. You know what the "royals" call them? A silly song extolling the abuses of the past which now the Brits are paying dearly. The Brits are so great that they are invading other countries to get a job. Silly people living in the past.
@theintelligent1973 1000 years is a bit of hyperbole. One-quarter of the population of the planet was under British rule when George VI took the throne in 1936, which was only 75 years ago. I see no difference in the British extolling their past by accentuating the good things that came out of that past than I do from the Americans doing the exact same thing every time a sports event ensues. I doubt Francis S. Key envisioned that his song of 1812 would come to rally footballers over soldiers.
@theintelligent1973 You're deluded mate. Also around 80 years ago we ruled around 1/4 of the world, the British Empire is widely known as one of the biggest in human existence. Much of the technology you use nowadays originated from Britain - the British have the right to be proud of their heritage. I am proud to be British, I will always love my flag, my country and my fellow countrymen. The majority of Brits are a proud respectable people. Period.
@theintelligent1973 A few years before WW2 Britain owned the largest Empire to ever rule the earth...I think that was under 80 years ago...not thousands. But then again you Americans dont have a very good education system, you seem to like investing in cheeseburgers. Well whatever makes you yanks happy I suppose....your just jealous that the U.S will never even come close to achieving what Britain did.

I see the English rose, the Welsh daffodil, the Scottish thistle and the Irish shamrock, but where's Ulster's orange lily?
Kkardemumma 5 months ago
@Kkardemumma Northern Ireland is represented by the Shamrock, not refering to ROI as it's not part of the UK...

@somethingtoremember1 An Orange Lily would have been more appropiate.

Bob and Steve are a fictional pair of men who engage in homosexual acts.
Bob enjoys mounting Steve, and Steve enjoys being mounted by Bob.
So was Bob born with a gene that makes him want to mount men instead of women?
Was Steve born with a gene that makes him enjoy the thought of men ejaculating into his rectum?
Their sexual desires are not the same. So how were they both "born that way"?
Not making fun. But science and common sense do not confirm the "born that way" theory.
