how is this painless? whether ur using wax or sugar, either way ur ripping the hair out of your skin and last time i checked, that shit fuckin hurts like a son of a bitch!
The only thing that's "different" about their ingredients that make you feel as though you may not be able to do it at home is the fact that they use Guar Gum and not the average lemon that comes to mind. The "lemon" they use is actually Citron (Citris Medica). I don't know how they cook it or anything though. I don't even know where you'd be able to find that type of fruit.
@pinkkizzez120 how much guar gum is used instead of lemon because the " regular " recipe is 2 cups of sugar 1/4 water 1/4 lemon juice is this lemon juice replaced with guar gum because it's pretty potent stuff.
@FranFFXII No. What I did was call them one day to ask about the ingredients, & was told that the ingredients are: water, sugar, lemon, and guar gum (in that order). So the guar gum is not a replacement, just an addition. However, I've spent A LOT of time trying to figure out all of this stuff. I had a hard time making it the consistency it needed to be and have come to the result that replacing lemon with apple cider vinegar works better. As with the guar gum, you'd only need a dash.
@FranFFXII i used 1/3 of a teaspoon of guar gum and mixed it with water before adding it to the sugar and lemon juice, but even after cooking it i still can't use it. it melts on the skin. guar gum is a thickener so i thought by adding it i would be able to use the paste longer and still have golden honey color but now it's amber and still melts. how much and when are you supposed to add the guar gum in the process ? and is 250-260 F(hard ball stage)the right temperature when guar gum is added ?
@Rickithefirst - it hurts a little, but honestly be brave and just DO IT because the initial pain doesnt last :) . The first time i waxed, i was SO SCARED...but after the first 2 or 3 times, it wasnt NEARLY as painful. It became more like a tickle...thus, more fun -dare i say- lol. Something I personally find even more fun is waxing in front of someone who is afraid of waxing and flinches as I rip the wax-paper off my flesh! xD. The look on my mom & my cousins' faces while i wax...priceless!
Yes you can. Is your caps lock key broken or something? Or are you just too lazy to use proper punctuation? You probably didn't make the paste the right way. Doesn't surprise me.
@mistyaqua ,YES MY CAPS IS BROKEN , AND YES YOU ARE RIGHT I HAVE WASTED SO MUCH SUGAR TRYING . I GOT IT NOW THAT I HAVE PAYED TO NOT ONLY TAKE THE CLASS AND GET CERTIFIED $450 LATER , AND NOW HAVE THE PROFESSIONAL A KIT . I HAVE LEARNED TO MAKE THE PASTE THE RIGHT WAY "THANKS" . AND NO I 'M NOT LAZY I JUST HAVENT HAD TIME TO REPLACE MY KEYBOARD BUT THAT IS NEXT ON MY LIST !!! AS AN ENGLISH MAJOR I PRIDE MYSELF ON TEASING EVERYONE ELSE ON THIER BAD ENGLISH IT IS FUNNY BEING CORRECTED !!
I AM SO CHEAP I TRIED TO MAKE THE PASTE , AND BELIEVE ME WHEN I SAY YOU CANNOT MAKE IT , SO I TOOK THE CLASS AND IT IS NOT THE PRODUCT IT IS THE THE WAY IT IS DONE , I LOVE THE OUTCOME , IT WILL CHANGE THE WAY YOU REMOVE YOUR HAIR , I KNOW THE TECHNIQUE AND IT IS WONDERFUL , BUT IF SOMEONE HAS A RECIPE THAT IS THE RIGHT ONE I WOULD LOVE TO TRY TO MAKE THIS , I PURCHASED THE KIT AND IT TASTE JUST LIKE CANDY BUT EVERY RECIPE ON LINE IS WRONG WRONG WRONG , AND TRUTH BE TOLD IT STILL HURT !!
Not just anyone can do this. It is very technical. She makes it look easy but it is quite difficult. Im sure there are ancient methods passed down is families but this is a modern version. I assure you the paste you make at home is not comparible.
$50 is pricey. However, she IS a professional. everyone can brush their own teeth, but a dentist can do that and do it with far more excellence than anybody--even using regular tools.
THis woman is crazy.. $50 for something you can make at home!....woman have been doing this in the middle-east for centuries....for FREEEE. all it is is 2 cups sugar, 1/4 cup lemon juice, 1/4 cup water....combine and boil until the mixture changes to a golden brown color. Let it cool and then use. Thats it.
Right, this is the basic recipe which is posted all over the internet. And it works perfectly if cooked the right amount of time.
I've also find out, that when the lemon-juice is fresh squeezed, it gets even better to apply. Its amazing how perfectly it works.
Alexandria Professional is very expensive, but AFAIK not available to "normal" customers. 1kg costs around 80$ these days, however for a professional shop that is still "OK".
Great technique, but she makes it sound like you can only have it done at the salon by "professionals". This is an ancient Middle Eastern method transfered from mothers to daugthers for generations. My mother in law showed me how to make it at home and do it myself, it needs practice but is waaaayyyyy cheaper than waxing (the video tells you that it's more $) and easy to do once you've done it a few times. I guess she is just trying to sell.
@majita79 yes you right, but not all ladies knows how to use the sugar wax, thats cool u know how to do it,i hope there s some videos that shows how to it on you tube
@majita79 How do you make it at home? Can you send me the recipe for making that stuff? I know she says sugar, lemon and water but not how much of which.. Would like to try it :) and do you use powder like she mentions?
