It seems as though everyone praised the quality of this film, but people were divided on its content. I found it thought provoking and extraordinarily intense. At the end of the movie, a guy in the audience whispered, "My God. What a movie." Everyone laughed, I think in part to release tension. I laughed also because that's exactly what I was thinking! Good review.
It is a masterpiece, along with the "Seventh Continent" is my favorite film of Haneke.
Why it not simply show the violence but especially to understand it. In this film as never before we understand how religious fundamentalism is dangerous.
Forgive my english.
Greetings form Italy!
ps: Beautiful DVD to your shoulders. They are also my favorite films. I love Lynch.
You should review "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus." I just came from it today and am very curious to see what you would think. I say it is not for everyone, but it is very artsy.
I went to see this a while back and didnt really know what to think of it,it's my first hanake film but defenetly not my last,i was hoping that you will review it and there you go =]
In my opinion its defenetly one of the best this year,i hope it gets the best foreign film Oscar, but arent you being a bit stingy with that last half a point? =] jk
I didn't really know much about this film but thanks to your review, now I really want to see it! I haven't seen any of Haneke's other films except for his FUNNY GAMES remake which I thought was great.
I almost feel like you know what you've just seen is a great film and borderline masterful...if you have trouble putting into words, your thoughts on the film. One hell of a movie is right! lol
I know that's not really a good way to describe this movie lol. There is no better director than Haneke at making you more uncomfortable watching a film and yet his films are mezmorising. I was kind of hoping for there to be some kind of big arty pay off like Let the Right One in but Haneke refuses to compromise and I like that about him.
Merry Christmas to you and thanks for the message!!!! Could you please review The Wages of Fear as another Christmas present for me? I wanna be spoilt!!!
I didn't like this film. The incest was very disturbing to me.

You've got Eraserhead & Inland Empire on your back shelf...that's enough for me...that automatically means that you're a great reviewer. :-)
